  1. Even so, the Listeners are too different from other Rosharan lifeforms, holding much more similarity with the "alien" humans. I doubt Adonalsium used controled evolution to create them.
  2. Renarin is not a terrible character. Please, try to remain civil and not say this kind of thing just because you like other characters more. Also, if I was more fluent in this language I would write a long dissertation about Renarin. Sadly, I am not and must to leave it to someone else.
  3. Being the homeworld of humanity and the land were Adonalsium shattered is not significant enough? Plus, it takes place before the shattering, so there weren't shards back them, only some splinters of Adonalsium and Adonalsium himself.
  4. Color? Greyness?
  5. In my mind, Shadesmar is an aspect of reality. Generaly, your physical self interacts with the physical self of things around you and your cognitive self with their cognitive selfs. When you enter Shadesmar you are actualy changing yourself so that your physical self connects to the cognitive selfs of things around you instead of their physical selfs. The whole "sea of beads" is some sort of user interface or translator that allows something physical to interact with something cognitive. I suspect something similar happens to spren entering the physical realm, but neither notices the other's alien perception because it is all being "translated".
  6. The Dragonsteel world is Yolen, the homeland of humanity and where Adonalsium Shattered. Is there any evidence of there being a shard there?
  7. Listeners, the other native non-human race, also has limited shapechanging, altought by a diferent method, and is said(by their own songs) to be closer to Shadesmar than humans, so that helps your theory. Also, I suspect that while everything exists in all realms, somethings interact more with one real or are more fettered to one realm. "Going" to Shadesmar would actualy mean changing yourself so that your physical aspect interfaces with the cognitive aspect of the world instead of the physical
  8. Cryptics actualy are very good at abstractions, as seem by their natural mastery over language and patterns. They are bad at non-literal interpretations of abstractions.
  9. Not that I know, but on the other side he seems to be able to create "true lies". For exemple, he faked an assassination atempt to make Dalinar look into real threats to his life. He also seems to have dificulty admiting truths about himself. The spren going away after Kaladin appeared could mean he pulled one of them into the physical realm and bonded it as he started to admit his imcompetence. Of course, there is also evidence that the spren he used to see are unmade, particulary by comparing him in WoK, when he looks to Dalinar(a proto radiant) with hateful eyes for one moment, to Lin Davar when he does the same with Shallan after Helaran reveals his shardblade and leaves. In both cases there seems to be a battle between the dark influence and the warding power of the Radiant family member, except with Elhokar the good side won.
  10. I suspect the Radiants are partialy moral relativists, and the oaths aren't to be seem as universal morality codes, but as work ethics for each order. It is not up to a Windrunner to judge, that is why the Skybreakers exist. A Skybreaker shouldn't question the law, but uphold it and let other people try to change it. The Knights Radiant should be seem as more than the sum of their orders. Idealy at least, since it is know that there would be often conflict based on the mutualy exclusive moralities of each order.
  11. Wrong? About what? The Stormfather confirmed there is only one Highstorm.
  12. The Stormfather himself said that the Everstorm would circle the world like the Highstorm, implying there is only one. Also, to nitpick, the title of book three will most likely be Oathbringer, since Brandon currently thinks Dalinar's flashbacks will be more appropriate there than Szeth's. Such a pity, since Stones Unhallowed is in my opinion a much better, more enigmatic title, and more in line with former titles. Well, at least we will get to see the Nightwatcher and Shshsh. Or not.
  13. Actualy, Dalinar said the only punishment for a sharbearer would be execution, because they can't be jailed and you can't realy enforce an exilation against someone who can just cut his way back through an army. Most likely, Adolin would forfeit his shards. And Adolin won his blade on a duel, it was his plate that he inherited. Not that it would matter, since surgebinding is not genetic.
  14. liamcephus, I agree with you that Kaladin deserves better and that Adolin shouldn't call him bridgeboy, I was just explaining that you can't say Adolin is an insufferable man who is petty for the sake of being petty. Kaladin has all the right in the world to be angry, but unless he wants to start a revolution and change the way vorinism views eye color he can't expect lighteyes to understand why he acts like that. Adolin is willfully blind of the injustice of his society, and Kaladin could have easily changed how he views things, had him just talked to him instead of entering angry mode.
  15. They can walk on wires according to Nale, so they probably can increase friction.
  16. Is it a stone? Is it Breath?
  17. liamcephus, Adolin was storming anoying calling Kaladin bridgeboy, but Kaladin isn't innocent either. Bodyguards are supposed to guard people while standing out of the way, while Kaladin acts like he was directly below the Highprince on the chain of command(wich is true, and he would be a full battalionlord if he was not a darkeyes, but you can't blame Adolin for not seeing it this way)
  18. I swear she was much more bothered that he wanted to kill someone without doing it to protect people, but for justice/vengeance. Killing hurts Syl, but she accepts it if it is done for protection, and is hurt more by refusal to protect.
  19. Partialy, but in truth I was underlining that it is possible to break one's oaths and think it was the right choice: what if a member of one order has to do something against his oaths to save the world? Generaly the orders complement one another, but imagine if that wasn't possible, if the fates of many rested in the shoulders of one Radiant. Then it would be a truly hard choice, don't you think?
  20. A windrunner won't know he made the right choice, because as both me and Moogle pointed out, just because the Windrunner sense of honor dictates something as right doens't mean one can't disagree with it. Hell, many orders probably have mutualy exclusive moralities, and there are the people who believe the ends justify the means too, and people who disagree about wich those "ends" should be, and infinite equaly valid moralities out there. If Kaladin decides he must prevent something horrible from happening, something he wants to stop for the good of the world, not selfishness or personal gain, but his oaths stand on the way, he will have to decide if he would rather betray his ideals and kill Syl or let it happen without moving a finger.
  21. Is it a material or substance? Is it an idea?
