The Stormfather is his own category and seems to follow completely different rules from regular nahel-bond spren more often than not. I wouldn't put it past his capacities to bond multiple people. It could also explain his survival to the recreance, the usual limit of three, which is implied to be possible to exceed, and his relutance to bond humans: when a bondsmith breaks oaths, he tears part of the Stormfather's mind and spiritweb apart, but being so much greater than a regular spren, he survived it once... or twice... or thrice... but ge is afraid he will be unable to do so again when( since he thinks it is inevitable) Dalinar forswears.

Tonk Fah? Or whatever that crazy mercenary in warbreaker was called.

Random Stuff VI The Return of the Admins
DreamEternal replied to Zathoth's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
This is more about not being used to the system, I'd say. Weather hotter than 37° is scary. Again, define what you see as a good scale. In my opinion, meters are good enough and decimeters aren't too small. See, that is what I am trying to say. The only reason to keep the Imperial System is because you are used to it. That is it, the Metric/International System is better in all non-subjective areas. Of course, I admit changing systems is likely to not be worth the effort. -
Yes.

Yes, those are the problems I was talking about. Reverting the differentiation of mature cells, breaking down and reabsorving things like fibers, large proteins and fluids and moving it all around in a few seconds notice without great loss of energy?Biology can do freaky things, but Realmatic shenigans seem like something that would work better in this regard. The biggest problem is that the way I see it, there would need to be a greater conection between physical and cognitive aspects for this kind of transmutative shapeshifting to work, and kandra aren't supposed to be more attuned to the Cognitive Realm than humans or parshendi, are they? I know mistwraiths aren't.

Well, that plan is not very original you know...

Actualy, we generaly measure height in meters . -
That is, if the spren can't choose to just dissolve the bond and be freed. Or if trying to steal the bond with hemalurgy doens't kill the spren by spiritweb damage. All in all, it is a cruel, impratical and twisted idea.

To be fair with those who think he may have survived, Nalan's shard/honorblade wouldn't have felt any resistence either way.But the "Experience ended" feels quite final for me.
-
No.
-
I know. I was talking about the theory that he somehow survived. Last I checked, dead people can't surgebind.

The problem is that magic is at work, otherwise kandra wouldn't exist. The way I understand it, the changes the feruchemists who were transformed suffered were as intense on the spiritual and cognitive aspects as in the physical one.Plus, while it may be theoretically possible that kandra can makes their tissues macroscopically identical to anything from a human eye to a brain, to do so would require changing their flesh down to the celular level. And doing so without magic hosts many more potential problems.

What about "Experience ended."? That scene wasn't from Nale's POV.

Decimeters are a thing. We just can't be bothered to use them. Plus, it is much easier to jump between centimeters and meters than between inches and feet. -
The Ym chapter ends this way: "The man shoved the shardblade through Ym's chest. Experience ended."

I am weird when it comes to writing, since I can't go by the seat of my pants but my annotations and outlines must be in the form of in-world documents and quotes. -

-40°, the only measure of cold both systems agree with. Now, why bring up gun ownership? -

Dear people from english speaking countries: adopt the International System. -
My eyes, my shadow, my light. Of unlawful birth, following the lawful call. Only one unfallen, I am traitor because I am loyal.

It is possible the kandra shapeshifting is even more supernatural than we think, like they were also soulcasting their flesh into the right kind of tissues instead of simply shifting their muscles and nervous tissue around.

I mean the reason he wrote "create" instead of aquire, when Szeth was already a Truthless and had just killed Gavilar.

Doylist motivations for Autonomy on Scadrial
DreamEternal replied to Necarion's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The surges seem to be part of the bond, or perhaps part of the spren itself. Maybe there are bindpoints in a radiant that link to the bond, but it will most likely break if not stolen whole and taken before hemalurgic decay gets to big. And the incompatibility of the bond with most, if not all people who are not the original radiant will make it either break or regress. That is, if being bond to an hemalurgy doens't kill the spren, or if the spren can't just dissolve the bond on its own will and be released. -
Lopen is not a Radiant. He and others from Bridge Four are Squires, people who gain the ability to breath stormlight throught their bond to a Radiant.
