So....who wants to play some D&D?

Corrupted creature template reads: Now, what Knowledge do I need to recognize one? -
Starry Dragon Seynir This is getting more interesting by the minute. "This one is not an aberration. Not from around here, sure, but not an aberration." I refrain from mentioning his outworlder nature. Some elves are known to be xenophobic. Although I kind of wish the cleric told me his name. Also, I am intrigued by the drunks reaction. It is like he took the remark personally. I take a closer look.

OK. Eerongal, do you want to keep it as it is (the drunk thought that he was addressed), or edit? -

Wait, you address Umieri or the drunk? -

What kind of aberration can shapeshift into human? -
Starry Dragon Seynir I debate putting him to sleep and checking out his belongings, maybe slitting his throat for his lies, but the general untidiness and the stench convince me otherwise. Bah. Not worth the waste of a spell. He looks ready to bolt, anyways. Let him be content with a free drink, and let us hope the drink was drugged. That would prove... amusing.

Ah, good. I have some rather unpleasant suspicions about what may go "wrong" with summon spells in dungeon(based on my in-char research, of course ) Good to see at least some fears allayed. Also, I had a question in hear ye -
Starry Dragon Seynir While eating, I take my time to continue studying the drunk. [to Eeron gal]Essentially, I want an estimate on his HD, and the position in respect to other patrons.

Hm.. There is a persistent spell metamagic feat. Does it work on summons? Also, of I lose control of a skeleton, what does it do? It is supposed to be only following commands, so it is not like it can turn and attack by itself... -

This feat allows a spell to be cast at will, without limits, by permanently taking a spell slot of +8 level, so I'll get as many castings as needed But will lose one slot forever -

Not scrOlls a permed magic feat, the one that takes a slot 8 levels above. -

The idea was to cast mount every round for a day, creating around 10000 horses, and letting them run in a general direction of a threat. The sheer mass should be enough to clear most traps and many encounters. 4 encounters a day, huh? How many critters in each, on average? Btw, what is attack progression for wizards? ( dagger) -

http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Human_Warrior_Skeleton Also, I can summon a horse for two hours, which, while weaker than skeleton, will still attack, won't it? I remember reading a suggestion of perming a mount spell at lvl 17, and stampeding all enemies to death I am still kinda dubious. I mean, even on high levels, a wizard gets around 30 spells per day. Thinking of about 10 encounters per day, isn't that a bit on the low side? -

Ok.. At first level, I can summon, say, 1 skeleton for 1d6+1 attack, which is limited in range and may miss ( btw, what are numbers 18-20 after the attack in the srd?) Or, I can cast a spell that hits much more likely and deals 1d6 damage per level. Powerful how, exactly? -

Now I am curious. Why do wizards get so few skill points? And what is with the pathetic duration of summon spells? (2minutes on lvl 20) -
Right. I always forget the names, so it slips right by me. Also, I think it is quite obvious that the lines are not light per se. The question is, does iron pulling break relativity, by instantly transferring information (push) to the metal.
-
You may be right BTW, another possibility: the direction of the push is also deflected, so the push is no longer guaranteed to be straight. An official confirmation would be nice.
-
OK, I should have checked the wiki. From school, I remember hydrogen being kind of intermediate. Although, looking at the definition, it classifies Silicon as "metalloid", and metals form the vast majority of the elements. It also says: So it is a little unclear.
-
Right. I am sorry if these questions have already been raised/answered, so just direct me to the posts if that is so. OK. Question 1. We all know that Steel/ Iron allomancy allows to push and pull on metals. The question is, how fast does this interaction travel from Allomancer to metal? Does the line change direction instantly if the metal moves, or does it bend when the metal speed is relativistic? Essentially, what if Brandon's quote about FTL being "built in" into Allomancy is also related to the speed of interactions? Question 2: Related to the above. Pushing/pulling through time bubbles. I don't think this was addressed anywhere, so here it is: What is it like when an Allomancer, while inside the bubble, pushes/pulls object outside? Here, it is assumed that an object is either inside or outside the bubble (the definition of an object being possibly linked to Spiritual/Cognitive realms), and cannot be halfway out. Especially, the question relates to the forces acting on object and allomancer. The possibilities I could think of were: 1. It is impossible to affect object outside bubble. It is not felt, not seen as a blue line, etc. Unlikely, but possible, I guess. 2. The forces equalize with respect to the time, so, if allomancer pushes with force of 10N inside the bubble, 10N acts on Allomancer inside, and 10N acts on the object outside. Assuming space and equal masses of object and allomancer (1kg), and 1 sec of push, 10x bendalloy bubble, allomancer gains speed of 10. For object outside, only 0.1 sec passed, so its speed is just 1. (Total energy loss once the bubble is removed). This kind of removes balance, but possible, I guess. Essentially, for allomancer all objects outside bendalloy bubble would feel n times heavies than they are, and lighter for chromium. 3. The objects becomes one with the allomancer So it, essentially ends up inside the bubble with the allomancer, as far as its time is concerned. Then, of course, the issue of a mobile bubble arises. I mean, if an object is inside bendalloy bubble, for outside observers the object will move with nx speed. And if the object is a suit of armor with human inside? Will human be dragged with 10x speed? Hello, FTL drive Of course, that raises the question of another allomancer outside the bubble pushing on the same object... This possibility also includes the opposite, when allomancer end up outside th bubble while physically inside it. OK, that is about it. Thoughts? Discussions? [EDIT] Right, remembered another one. Anyone knows what exactly counts as metals? Are calcium and lithium metals? Is metallic hydrogen a metal (and, by extension, can Inquisitor see water)?

OK, after reading all the above theories, here are some of my ideas: 1. Nohadon's amendment and KR. I think Nohadon did not, in fact, change the Nahel bond itself. What he did was to create Knights Radiant system of oaths using the Dawnshard, which provide a shortcut to Honor (shard) power, boosting the abilities of people who speak (and follow) the oath if they already have them, like a spike for the Allomancer who already has the corresponding metal. SO the system allowed for additional powers (and may have had something to do with Plate control), gave incentive to join (power boost), and allowed the renegades to be hunted down with relative ease. 2. I think there are Aspectspren that form Nahel bond, and, while being aspects of honor or Virtues(honor bound, honor truth, love, etc), may not demand their binder to be honorable. The Shallan's spren, in particular, seem to be more like creepy stalkers. They do not care what the truth is, as long as it is hidden (that is why I refer to them as Secretspren sometimes). You can confess to be a murderer, rapist and child eater, a liar and a cheat, and they will probably give you the same abilities. (OK, maybe not the last two) 3.I think Spren draw heavily from the quantum theory, as it is understood by Brandon himself. Thus, if we follow the analogy, spren are like the cognitive particles of the objects/ feeling that are described or perceived by sentient creatures as objects. Thus, the answer to "Do Windspren spren cause wind" would be "Yes, they do, in a way". The wind, as an "object", has its own cognitive aspect/bead or whatnot. In normal circumstances, this aspect , on physical plane, is made of "virtual spren", undetectable by humans. However, fed by Stormlight some spren become "real", energetic enough to be detected, and, once detected, fixed in some way by human perception. Once measured, the spren becomes even more fixed by coupling between cognitive aspect of measurement and the spren, limiting its options. It is quite possible that simply concentrating on the particular spren will fix it in place, but writing it down provides a fixed focus of concentration, a separate bead that constantly binds the spren. (This raises a question: do any spren (visible ones) exist where there is no one to observe them?) For some other ideas about fabrials, please see a theory in the sig Disclaimer: all of the above is just my interpretation, some supported by writing and some just a conjecture, etc, etc...

Starry Dragon Seynir I access the situation. Threat level: low, unless provoked. Probability that he is speaking the truth: somewhere on the level of me accidentally summoning a lich from Celestial plane. Probability that he just wants our money : High. My companion seems to have the situation well in hand for the moment, however. Aware that diplomacy is not my strong suit, I resolve to wait and see what transpires. I relax slightly, and continue eating.
-
Starry Dragon Seynir I quickly consider my options, but apparently not quickly enough, as cleric invites the drunk to sit, indicating the mug of ale he was looking at with distrust all this time. Wise decision, that For a moment, I refrain from reacting, and just fix the drunk with unblinking stare. Inwardly, though, I am recalling how to cast "Summon undead", just in case.

Starry Dragon Seynir "Yes, I do research extraplanar travel. As means to the end, mainly, but I have some knowledge. And you, I am guessing, want to return to Eberron. Perhaps we can aid each other, although I won't lie to you: while the dungeon in question probably has breaches on your home plane, and may contain artifacts that may aid you, it is supposed to extremely dangerous, and as a prison, it wasn't originally supposed to have means of egress. Extreme caution is advised. At the very least, we should travel with somebody proficient in detecting and removing traps. On that note, how long have you been in this city? I must confess I do not usually spend much time among people, so my knowledge of where one might find companions is somewhat lacking." My stew and water finally arrives. I sniff at the water before taking a careful sip.
-
Starry Dragon Seynir "Indeed? I plan to go into that dungeon as well. My research indicates that it is some kind of extraplanar prison that has destabilized with time and randomly opens exits on different planes, or, possibly, universes. The value of such for my research is tremendous, not to mention the possible artifacts it may contain. Of course, going there alone is suicide, especially for a wizard, so I was planning to join some group of adventurers in need of spellcaster of moderate skills. If such a group were to contain a good cleric, all the better."

OH, btw, found out some Eberron Magic Feats, like Dragon Prophesier. Are they available for later taking?
