  1. Wow my cracktheory is dark and morbid. When Szeth and Kaladin eventually fight in a future book Nightblood will kill Syl, but Szeth will leave Kaladin alive to stew in another, longer depression story arc.
  2. WoP says the worms are symbionts! - We need the name of the magic system now. I propose calling it Multiple Unspecified Telepathic Abilities Formed Through Symbiotic Relationships With Invertebrates MUTAFTSRWI for short.
  3. Upon call, strike and destroy things.
  4. If we're ignoring CIS (Character Induced Stupidity) and PIS (Plot Induced Stupidity) then Rand wins by a mile. One blast of balefire and he's done. Of course, Rashek has atium, so setting up a shot with balefire would be extremely difficult, but not impossible. - Wait a second... Hemalurgy slightly unhinges the mind, and allows people using emotional Allomancy to assume complete control over them. The taint on Saidin unhinges the mind of the user, if we go with elemental compatibility here then one duralumin enhanced soothe and the Lord Ruler could just make Rand kill himself. - That probably wouldn't work. But it's the one chance the Lord Ruler has.
  5. Thank you other people for explaining my ideas more accurately than me. - My personal thinking is that all the animals' psychic abilities originate from the parasites. To me that's much more likely than creatures developing psychic life-sense abilities naturally. I don't know how exactly they get the parasites, as the others pointed out it could be passed down in some species from parent to child, or they gain them from other creatures at an early age.
  6. Shiv, I'm curious as to how long you spent on that. - Well, now I have a mental image of Kaladin singing "I'll make a man out of you" to the members of Bridge Four as he trains them.
  7. Just my tidbit to add to this discussion. - Anyone here watch the show Sanctuary on Syfy a while back? A lot of their sets were almost entirely CG filmed on green screen. They produced over 400 virtual effects per episode because of the virtual sets they used. This, times 13 episodes in season one and a season budget of around 21 million dollars. Game of Thrones has a budget of around 5 million dollars per episode. Given how technology has gotten a bit cheaper since Sanctuary, a budget of 4-5 million per episode filmed on green screen sets would probably work for Stormlight Archive. - There are other issues, but this (kinda) solves the issue with sets. Green screen sets have been done before, and worked well. Sanctuary ran for four years and had the record for most views on the first episode on Syfy channel.
  8. I doubt he'll come back as a full-fledged character. More likely it'll be as a occasional voice or vision to push the main characters onto the right path, nothing major.
  9. I'm not going to say I told you so. But I did bloody tell you. Does the buckler stop the lynch vote?
  10. You'd think there'd actually be someone trying to defend me, if they wanted to preserve as many of their number as possible. Again, I'll say it: When I die, the people pushing for my death probably have a Mutineer in their midst.
  11. I'm a Loyal, and you'll see that at the end of this cycle. I guess the power of the Mutineer bandwagon is too strong to resist. Since it's looking like I'm getting killed I have one more thing to say. Look to the people who first suggested me and started the bandwagon. I can almost guarantee at least one of them is a Mutineer. There has to be one there. I doubt that Loyals would start two bandwagon votes in a row like this on one guy unless they were being driven by a Mutineer.
  12. OK, so the biggest evidence against me I've seen is the grappling hook saving me. 1. Why would the Mutineers save me if they knew I was a Gunner, and would've lived anyways. 2. Why would they do something that heavy-handed in order to save one of their own this early. It's a bit obvious, don't you think? 3. The Mutineers have what, one PM to organize? That doesn't give them much room for much complicated strategy. Some of them probably don't even know who all the Mutineers are yet, since their one PM has to be separate. Whichever Mutineer saved me is trying to throw suspicion on me in the most obvious way possible. I'm going to hold off on voting for now, but I will later if I need to tie it up to save myself.
  13. I hate to be the bearer of bad news... http://www.rpgfan.com/news/2014/1543.html "The status of the game remains in limbo" Well. I'm sad. Part of me hopes they delay the game again, so they can give it more development and polishing time. Gah. This is the only Birthright news to come out in the past 7 months. I'm a bit concerned about how much the company actually cares about the game, since it was announced in 2012, delayed, scrapped, and 7 months after the announcement that they scrapped it, "remains in limbo." I remain hopeful for a worthy representation of the Mistborn world and Sanderson's story, but I'm starting to doubt we're going to get one. At least not soon.
  14. What I'm kinda thinking is that the Nightmaws have consumed worms (either directly or through eating Aviar) and that's how they got their telepathic hunting abilities. Kinda the same with the other psychic creatures in the story. - It probably isn't right, but that's just the impression I got.
  15. I told you guys I was a Gunner. I don't appreciate the soak. Not funny. What am I going to wear now?! All my clothes are wet! EDIT: And yes. Fang only brought one set of clothes on this voyage. Maybe you pushed me off just to give me a bath...
  16. I am serious about being a Gunner, I ain't lying to you. Yeah, this stinks of a Mutineer set up to me. - Also, I keep getting confused by the name "Kai". Every time I see it I think they're saying "Kal".... EDIT: It was blue! I swear!
  17. Just going to point out, this feels like what I (last game) did to a couple people. Made a comment here or there, and then BOOM. Tons of votes on them and a villager lynched. What fun. (Sorry guys who got killed through this, Bela, Grim, etc. No hard feelings, right? ) It's the same thing, except I'm on the receiving end this time. I kept my vote on Aonar because free money. I saw a post a while back about that. Boy, this'll be a repeat of last game's lynch votes if I get voted off the island hung.
  18. Hi guys, sorry I've been gone. I missed last cycle because I was working all day laying sod and then I had to go to visit family for the evening. I got on in the morning but didn't have enough time to go through all the messages that had been made, and thought I would get home in time to post before the end of the cycle. So yeah, I was inactive for a bit. I'm back now though! I'm the third Gunner, by the way. I'm good, and I'd rather not die, so I'mma throw a vote at Jene with the hope of tieing things up before the end of the cycle. I don't know why I was saved by a grappling hook, I'm assuming whoever did it did it to implicate me. Any questions for me?
  19. AND WE HAVE A WINNER!!!! Fendin "Fiddle" Fathvell, a young nobleman alive several hundred years before the fall of the Final Empire. Birthright is written by Brandon Sanderson, but, it isn't a book. How badly did I throw you guys off with that one?
  20. Sorry, but no. I'm sorry for giving you guys such a tricky one. Hmm... I have to think of another hint so we can move on with the Game.
  21. I just edited his wiki page to include his nickname. No to all of those. With regards to Joe's question.... I think he was born a Mistborn, though that's just a guess on my part. For the second question... None of the above. (It is a story written by Brandon Sanderson)
  22. As far as I know, he's not alive during the events of the original trilogy. In hindsight this one is actually very tricky. He's a Mistborn.
  23. Nope, sorry. Those are too early, he's alive during the Final Empire, but several hundred years before the original trilogy.
