I could also change the pants to a jacket....
-
Hm. What if the belt buckle was just locked?
-
Should I change the belt buckle bit?
-
Oops. I'll change it. And yeah....she makes mistakes.
-
Sorry. It only bites hands, if that helps. :/
-
Wait. I think I got this in an email. Let me see if I can find it…. Aha! PM forthcoming.

What Happened in Portland

Penumbra flew through the window and was soon lost to distance. Nathan relaxed a bit, but before he could get too comfortable, Nighthound opened his mouth. “Well then, that was an unexpected interruption wasn´t it? Where did we leave of again? Oh yes, Doctor, your denial.” Funtimes gave Nighthound the same confused look she'd given Nathan when he asked if she knew what carpet bombing was. "Denial? Isn't that a river somewhere?" She stuck out her tongue. "That's not mine, silly. Not like the glittery jacket you're wearing!" Nighthound's jacket was not glittering. It was shining, catching every bit of light in the entrance hall and reflecting it all around in a hundred tiny rainbows. Nathan tried not to stare, but found it impossible. It drew his attention and held it—commanded it, even. With a satisfied smile, Funtimes hugged Ray again. "There. A shiny jacket to go with her shiny powers." She skipped over to Nathan and took his hand. "And don't try taking it off just yet," she said, nudging him out if his reverie. She then teleported down the hall, finishing her sentence from two rooms away. "Those buttons will bite you!" -
That's totally fine. Also, posting it here: I'm having much better luck coming up with human characters than with minor Epics. (You guys have much better ideas for cool/random/weird powers.) If anyone wants to adopt the goth, the hippie (names to be revealed soon, I think) or the Unicyclist, though, feel free. Just let me know and I'll PM you with Funtimes' reasons for choosing them and how that affects their characterization.

Puzzle pieces. I think there were four, each in a different color.
-
What, no Magical Mister Mistopholes? (Did I spell that right?)
-
You're absolutely right! And I just realized: I haven't written a single Fungaze ship yet. I must correct this oversight.

I don't predict Thoughttown and the Empire being BFFs after a 200-zombie attack, no.

(((This is a compilation post between Voidus, Edgedancer, and myself.))) "Honestly, Penumbra? We didn't like you the first time you showed; why would you try a second time?" Penumbra fumed as one of those across the museum taunted him and his projectiles were rendered useless. He remembered that one from the alley earlier, one of those he’d left alive against his better judgement. Time to rectify that? No, priorities, the Energy first. Alright, well if a secondary attack won’t work I’ll just stab them with the shadows directly. he planned, stretching his shadow until it connected with dozens of others, giving him a mass of darkness to use. They formed into dark tendrils and lifted off the floor, rushing towards the Energy Epic. With a giggle, Funtimes took Ray by the hand and spun her out of the way. As she spun out of the way Ray realized that the shadows were aiming for her. What did I do to deserve all this, I´ll even eat the Tamales. Swallowing down her thought she out an energy lance at Penumbra´s chest. Attempted property damage is where I have to pull the line. A growling Nighthound jumped away from the shadow mass and onto the wall behind his back. Using it as an handle to prompt himself up and ran along it, trying to jump into Penumbra´s side. Penumbra watched as the Epic was pulled out of the path of the approaching tendrils, but they moved as fast as thought, twisting in the air to give chase, however the Energy Epic turned towards him and shot a corruscating lance of energy straight towards him, he pulled some of the mass back along the tendrils forming a tighter armour, but the lance was brushing aside the tendrils he’d reached out, it couldn’t cut them, they were harder than steel or stone but the light properties of it seemed to cause the shadows to be knocked back. The lance reached Penumbra himself and tossed him across the room, just as Nighthound tried to jump into him. Funtimes laughed at the energy lance as it connected with Penumbra’s chest. “Shiny, shiny, I like the shiny!” she sang, waving one hand at Nighthound and the other at Penumbra. The floor beneath them became tile--slicker than the other patches of tile, and colorful. If Nathan wasn’t mistaken--and experience with Funtimes told him he wasn’t--she had even added colorful flashing lights beneath the tiles. Nathan wished he could have stayed behind with the servants. Nighthound jumped a moment to early, as it seemed. His target was pushed away before he could make a connection. Not only that that but the floor suddenly became slippery and littered with lights. Never heard anything about coordination, given what you did to the floor, did you? Trying to avoid falling to the ground he gripped on to Ray´s lance. The lance worked better than expected pushing away Penumbra or was it the now slick floor? One way or another it was ripped away from Penumbra, when Nighthound almost fell on her lance. She pushed against him, which caused him to slide out of the slippery area and shot another lance at Penumbra. SoulSwitch watched as Penumbra tried to regain his footing, stumbling over the newly slicked floor, Nighthound seemed to be having similar troubles, another lance shot towards the prone shadow Epic but he pulled himself out of the way with a claw of shadow, pulling him across the slippery surface until he found enough traction to stand again. Drawing himself up again Penumbra assessed the situation, a matter manipulator powerful enough to change the floor like that, energy beams that could actually harm him and a strength Epic, given that his only assistance was still in the form of a mouse he didn’t like his chances at present. “We’ll settle this later” he growled to the one shooting lances at him. His shadows formed another claw reaching all the way to the entrance of the museum and yanking him into the open air. SoulSwitch watched the shadowy mass zip around the room finally hurling itself into the open air and sprouting a pair of bat-like wings. Time to be going then I suppose. He thought, running to the entrance and leaping into the body of a nearby bird to follow his new master. One who was much more powerful than he’d first seemed. -
I didn't think cold-blooded torture was Altermind's style.

Funtimes wears socks that light up. Nighthound is so creepy his name and "creepy" should be synonyms. So….yeah, the Wacko Brigade is going to have some weird romance. All right. Yeah, he's mostly working by assumptions at this point.
-
I see another multi-ship crossover in the future!
-
All right, cool. I thought you'd said something about that, but being from Newcago, the only shadow Epics he was familiar with were Nightweilder and less-powerful Nightweilder wannabes, so he'll assume Penumbra has an intangibility factor until proven otherwise. Voidgaze will never allow this.

The former professor raises all the former bar patrons as his undead slaves. The disgruntled student makes the former professor see all of his zombies... ....as Doctor Funtimes.
-
Ah! Me neither but I love it!
-
I am okay with this. And if you want to personalize the link with something referencing Phoenix, go ahead.
-
TwiLyght approves of this.
-
Okay, so it's entirely plausible that Nighthound recognized him by his beard. Funtimes will put two and two together soonish, and she won't be happy when she does.

Downside: It's a very long wait. Other downside: The edition of Steelheart I read promised a much shorter one. Upside: January 6th is four days before my birthday, and my mom (who is also a fan of the series) hinted that I might get that particular present early…..

Not if I do…this.
