  1. Surprisingly, I actually don't care and won't be spending energy on it. There's Pokemon...
  2. I dunno, I thought it was pretty telling I never wanted to explicitly tell you Mat was my teammate...
  3. Funny you say this right after Ash shows up Edited to add: Oh, and I suppose: Aet. Sorry mate, I wanna Pokemon, but RBM voting Mat is HMM
  4. I'm now sad you didn't do it but then you would've scammed me into signing up for a FFA game and I'm not sure I can take that on top of being scammed into Reborn
  5. It would be a troll on the level of the Alera game if Araris made everyone an IE. Also means my doc is a lie and it's just Araris on alts
  6. Imagine what it felt like playing it ._.
  7. For old times' sake, Charizard. On monofire run, it's a Piplup I adopted because this guy sold me his Piplup in exchange for a hit of a street drug and I feel so bad for the poor thing it's adorable you just can't abandon it so it's now riding shotgun next to fire gang.
  8. I've just figured out say half an hour ago why people said the factions were obvious, so yeah. Gotta burn them all, you know? With my emotional support Piplup rocking up next to fire gang. Araris unleashed a monster. I'll...RP at some point. Again.
  9. I was thinking she'd know about it from the other side, yeah
  10. Don't we all... Edited to add: @Coffeecat You would know But more seriously, forgot about this because I was busy getting murdered by the Dark gym leader - ish? I believe factions could, if they were nice, choose to defend the IEs they are allied with, but that's a choice. Their interests are not terribly affected in the way they would be if their own faction members are targeted. One demands a response, the other might or might not.
  11. How much attention I'm paying since Araris scammed me into that game
  12. I mean that's the one argument for voting IE IMO. Basically they're someone all the factions can agree to kill without dragging the faction war into the open. So we stick to stabbing each other in the back instead of a full frontal stabbing. Also probably fears that overtly targeting one faction will open you to a backstab reprisal. I'm not the most sold on it because it really is a stall but maybe stalling is the best we can hope for in the thread. IDK man I have Pokemon >>
  13. If RBM is an IE, isn't there even less point in voting them again? It's a bit of a 180 from your last cycle stance tbh.
  14. It depends on the code. The rule is not absolute and the last edit allowed targeting codes. Independent Epics, this is an announcement from my faction. It took forever to talk them around to this, but our current point of view is that you don't interface with our wincon, and we could theoretically work together. (In practice, we do conflict if we are near the last faction standing since those two wincons are incompatible, but we're far from that world for now.) Basically we would like to not be shooting at you or voting you and to let you do your own thing (if you want us to share targeting info, that can be discussed.) PM me if you're up for it
  15. The Arsonist flicked the wheel of the Zippo lighter, and watched as sparks turned to flame. Far as he was concerned, most problems could be solved by a jerrycan of gasoline and a lighter. Especially Reckoner-sized ones. 'Course, the way he saw it, there wasn't much benefit in working for Mindstorm, either. Giving the survivors the 'honour' of becoming his right hand men, would he? He flicked the lighter again, but this time, there was no answering sparks, no flame. The Arsonist glared at it, and abruptly, the entire lighter was engulfed in fire. He shook out his hand, letting the flames dance with the motion. There wasn't much sense in going in alone, the Arsonist thought. Sure, he could barely stand some of his gang these days, but you screwed around and found out, what with the other Epic gangs, the Reckoners, and Mindstorm. You had to be pretty tough and capable of taking a hit, but the way the Arsonist saw it, it was the sort of thing some of those scum would want, as though they thought you were a tyro—get everyone else to waste their fuel flaming the lone wolves, then take them out in the process and get crowned king of the ashes. Yeah, you didn't need to provoke anyone. Burning the solos looked good because you didn't antagonise anyone. But everyone knew everyone was out to get each other. Hell, sometimes, even your own gang was about as much help as a piece of tissue paper in an inferno. The Dwarf's voice echoed in the hush that had fallen. The Arsonist couldn't decide whether it was because he'd hit a good target, or people were too terrified to contest the hit. Of course, who you were willing to see hit was itself telling, so there was that. "Helios, was it?" the Arsonist smirked. "Well, the sun's a great big ball of fire, and the way I see it, there's only one god of fire in town." [OOC: RoyalBeeMage] He lobbed the fire at the wall, and smiled as the flames spread, carpeting the surface of the concrete.
  16. They can Mark once or take three other actions. Jerk move would be to redirect them when they claim, which means them claiming does put them in a position of relatively reduced power. You could as a faction just cut a deal but I guess trust issues.
  17. Translation from Grouchy Old Guy for those not fluent: "You aren't sending PMs and I want to see some PMs."
  18. I kind of wonder about it in the landscape anyone had the Air to pull off blocks. AFAICT, neither Cad, me, nor Stick had the Air to really be choosing. I think you mean Air Air was the major problem here. I think giving the Dragon a conversion chance needs to be weighed carefully. Less for the conf!good element and more than any conversion in a game just gives the Elims a +2 advantage instead of the expected +1 for a kill. Not impossible because it's just a one-shot but definitely watch for it in your overall balance. It hated me I never won any link... I don't think it would help tbh. The people who use it would just be more discouraged because they can't PM as many people, so it's less worth putting it in as an action. The other concern here is use for massclearing since the kill is a physical action. Being able to demonstrably occupy or not occupy the slot could matter.
  19. I deliberately made a Village-aligned Araris Valerian role in my Codex Alera game just to force that cognitive dissonance on people Arsonist. Sets things on fire. Standard pyrokinesis/pyrogenesis portfolio. I blame you for encouraging my gym leader-esque rampage of flame through Reborn Wyrm has told me to just admit I have a problem >>
  20. Just wanted to be the first sign-up. I'll get back later with everything.
  21. Less a response to Mat more a note to myself: ok, next time I'm going to put as many details as it takes for y'all to brute force it just to see how intricate the hangman can get >:P
  22. Says the guy who got balefired N1 Thanks for GMing and IMing to TUA and Elan - I actually wanted a break and signed up largely to get to play with Araris. This then turned out to be my most chill Village game ever, in which I mostly refused to solve because I felt lazy/didn't want to, and then grudgingly did some analysis N1 because I felt bad/guilty after PMing Mat I don't know how I mastered the skill of not caring, playing hangman, almost zero backreading/analysis (almost entirely off-the-cuff) but I hope it'll stick Thanks to Araris for introducing me to the suffering on crack that is Pokemon Reborn. I spent most of last cycle dying repeatedly to a guy who was using my own fire types against me Oh and thanks for the Elim doc shout outs, Aeo, Aet, and TUA. Edited to add: Tbh I thought the lie was obvious but I wasn't paying attention Like the odds of balefire from me if linked to Stick were around 0.07 thereabouts - that's so awful it's worth ignoring even if it was true. But yeah for chill game! Yeah for not caring and going 'k back to getting flambed by a Charizard mirror brawl!'
  23. So...I got balefire after all? Edited to add: Openwoof specifically is an in-joke that kind of spread from a Drake typo fwiw. Openwolf -> openwoof, and it stuck because murderpuppy and was funny and then you also had a subwoofer joke baked in... This is openwoofing:
