[OOC: They are, and I've previously said on p.1 of this thread that they should be used to make sense of which strategy - hoarding or denial - Evil is playing for. If I haven't said it in threads, I've probably already said this in every active PM I have. My point is just that if we're expecting the Thief to precision-acquire the Shadowblaze to exit the game with it, yeah, that's not gonna happen. That's my point, yes. That if we want it to go to the Thief for sure, we kind of have to yeet it at them. Similarly, if you want someone to return the Shadowblaze and they refuse, your options are kind of going to be limited beyond a CM, as both the Thief and Revocation are chancy. Not sure why you're bringing this up.]

[OOC: This. The fact both the Thief and Revocation only steal random items is a serious crimp in any plan that requires precise targeting involving items.]

[OOC: Yeah, just realised. Even if Araris wasn't granted Warding, he could easily have started with it as he didn't Ward the camp N1. In a way, you could say this confirms that neither TUO nor I have it ]

[OOC: Sart clarifies that lines are default taken to be Specialised unless you say otherwise: So the real question is where the NR visit falls on OoA. But Ash is right - no need to postulate Warding specialisation then as I missed TUO's Warding claim.] Edited to add: Yeah, nope.]

[OOC: What's more, TUO and I Warded N1 as well, and the numbers were as expected, which tells you if this was the case, the extra Defense didn't come from us unless Archer decided to visit us (even then, Warding is fairly early on OoA - @Sart, where does NR visitation go on OoA? Can this be LoV/LoFed?) ]

[OOC: Likely won't be of much help for the rest of this Turn. ("But Kas," I hear you say, "You weren't actually doing much anyway." To which my response is: "Great! Then you won't miss me " ) My immune system seems to have hated this vaccine because I'm exhausted, aching, and running a fever and I just want to sleep the suffering off. [OOC: Belated but: Ash is right, it's my OG. (Or one of my many OGs, as some game records have me using AC dps...) Just wasn't feeling the blues/chill and it was between that and Rohan. And I was listening to Leonard Cohen's You Want It Darker after some bad work news.]

[OOC: Given that spring powered crabs are item scanners, finding players hoarding Village-helpful items would be useful. At the same time, the Forgotten don't need to hoard—they just need to scare us into not taking helpful items or kill us to keep it out of Village hands. They don't need the clock—just to deny us use of it. Anyone who has things helpful to Village you wanna do other than Ward, might be a good time to get it out of your system. The longer this drags, the more Wild Chalkling strength accumulates and we'll need all the hands we can get on defense. No doubt when Elims will get bolder about hoarding. Sorry about no RP, in clinic rn.]

Duncan drew a Line of Warding around the camp, and then dusted his hands off. Iron Duncan, they'd called him, back in those days, because his defenses held, no matter how many times attackers tried to compromise them. It was different with the squad on Nebrask, though. Kessen was fast and forgettable. That was always the problem. And Wyatt... Didn't matter how good your lines were. Trust the wrong man, and you were dead. Or worse than dead. Broken. His life fell away, one half of it before Nebrask, and the other of it after, and try as he might, Duncan couldn't seem to find a path back to who he used to be. Who he wanted to be. Any longer. [OOC: I am the chalk in the darkness. I am the warder on the walls. I am the line that guards the realms of men.]

[OOC: I'm just going to repeat this one last time. Not all Confirmed Goods play maximally to current wincon in a conversion game and that's okay. Some players want to hedge their bets by not going full-tilt Village and that's okay in a Conversion Game. Archer is a role that can be converted, and we don't know if he's a max wincon guy or a bet hedging guy. You're making unwarranted assumptions about how he wants to approach this game.]

[OOC: I am, but in this context, I'm always wary of the PM spiders for obvious reasons. We think about intel as a current thing, but past intel can be just as valuable (cf. quantum computing threats) and quite frankly, Archer's a conversion risk unless the Thief throws it out of the game for us. Again, QF4, Alv. He and Sart were lethal together.]

[OOC: Agreed. Confirmed Good in a game with conversion roles depends on the player. Some players play to maximal current wincon, going to the extent of sabotaging themselves on a future conversion. This was Alv and Sart in QF4 (magnificent plays, both of you) and Awes and Wilson @ me in LG6. And Hellscythe in LG15b. Some players prefer to hedge their bets because they don't want to sabotage themselves if they do get converted. Both are acceptable playstyles and you don't know which Archer is bringing to bear. Having intel pass into enemy hands is always worth thinking hard about and I'm watching Striker carefully.]

[OOC: I mean, honestly, I've historically never agreed with most of Araris's plans, especially the early ones, so he should probably have smelled a rat when I didn't say anything. I just got smarter about fighting over them while I'm supposed to be relaxed Plus, as the last son of House Urbain, I just have a huge distrust of everyone so I wanted at least one person I knew for sure was Warding.]

Duncan sighed. Another good man down. (Matt, lying broken on the ground. Dig in what had turned out to be his own grave. Jain, staring suspiciously at the survivors, eyes darting from Aaron Roddy to Ronald.) You never knew. That was the whole problem. He stared down at his hands and let them rest on his knees. Willed the shaking to slow down. The wild chalklings were outside, and he could feel the white fuzzy edges of terror, even as he tried to focus on his ragged breathing. Blackbane and Elysian had claimed to have laid down acid buckets to defend against the horde outside. This meant they needed one more bucket of acid or Line of Warding to prevent the camp from being overrun. In addition, a number of people had claimed to have done things in the day. The quartermaster's logs showed that Daughter of the Prime Forest, Frederick, Atreco, and Grace had all been noted as having claimed items from the supplies. Duncan himself had tried for an acid bucket, though Daughter had beaten him to it. Evan, too, had apparently been beaten to a map, as had Faleast. The Rithmatist going around pretending to be a thief [OOC: TJ Shade] and Illwei had both claimed to have tried to affect the voting on Joshua. As far as Duncan could tell, this meant they had two things unaccounted for: whoever had tried to remove a vote on Illwei, as well as whoever who had stolen the Bribe from Archer. The identity of the thief didn't matter to Duncan, though he had his suspicions. As long as the thief wasn't interested in getting them all killed by wild chalklings, Duncan wished them luck doing what they had to and getting out of this alive. This did mean that based off the strength of the quartermaster's logs [OOC: Apodictic certainty] and off the slightly weaker strengths of claims, their pool of people who could have tried to tamper with the court martial was reduced to: Tia Vuur, who had mostly been staying out of sight, Servant of the Mad God, Nicole Cooper, two others from a different platoon whose names Dunca did not know, though he'd seen them around camp [OOC: Flyingbooks and Shard of Reading], Shimamura Sakura, Connie, Kaniae Moreau, Respected Madman, and Tria Noche. Far too many possibilities for Duncan's taste, though he supposed it was good for the thief. The real question was: was the attempt to meddle with the voting benign or malicious?

[OOC: I made my reasons clear already, but that being said, Swan has also just convinced me that you aren't really my top priority. But as Illwei is leading the trains, I don't really have a major issue right now. My biggest current suspicion would be Gears, based off a profile, but I'm really not fond of last minute CM train switches based off anything short of moderately high certainty.]
