  1. 1. Thread discussion is too anaemic. It's possible someone roleblocked the Elim kill - if so, they should come forward. Obligatory @StrikerEZ / @Experience to ask/confirm if roleblocked kills appear in the write-up. If Team Evil is going for a mass extinction event arson strategy, then having a well-discussed lynch becomes of paramount importance to the Village, because we cannot afford to be even more informationally impoverished than we currently are. We won't be getting flips or things to analyse from NKs until they pull the trigger down the road, which can be a very serious problem for us. This means we need: actual alternative candidate trains, in order to be able to get a better feel of where players' priorities are. I've always said that a silvertongued Elim can turn black into white and white into black, but what they cannot do is to conceal what their actions say about their priorities. Voting is one concrete way to tease out where players' priorities really are, and for this, we need alternative trains because these create situations where players actually have to make concrete choices. Note that if Team Evil really is going for a mass extinction event strategy, then the effectiveness of Bronze and Tin scans reduces quite a bit because we won't see the kills coming until the Big One hits. I've discussed this with a few players and the general stance is that this isn't the most orthodox kill doctrine, but we can't see a downside for them to do this. If they get their hands on more Nicrosil or Duralumin, we could be in bigger trouble because this could increase their kill potential. (ht @Ashbringer who highlighted this D1, but I want to reiterate this as a very real threat.) 2. For the people PMing me to ask about my Tani vote, my question to you: why not Tani? Do you trust Tani? If so, why? If not, do you have an alternative candidate you want to propose? 3. I'm not actually opposed to Steel today though I like his RP. I think there are good reasons to place pressure on Steel, but I also think these reasons have generally gone unmentioned, which is not good for the state of Village lynch discussion. tldr; c'mon people discuss how sad is it that your security officer actually got aggravated enough to tell you this???
  2. Maybe I'm just in withdrawal from MR56, have you considered that >> Edited to add: Thanks, but I'm good Ash. I've been having repeated crises in my GM PM and my current conclusion is I'm going to do whatever I want and whatever makes me happy. If that's promoting thread discussion so be it. If it's analysis so be it. I'm going to do exactly as much as I want to and not a jot more because it doesn't matter Security officer dgaf is real
  3. Sigh. I tried guys. I really tried :| This sitting back and absolute chilling and utter pacifism just isn't really my style. I need to redefine what chilling means to me I guess because I still want a chill, quiet, RPful game. Tani.
  4. @StrikerEZ: Can I please confirm, Mr GM sir, that there are no circumstances in this game where there will be no alignment flips, and that Team Evil has a NK in this game? Asking for a friend, thanks.
  5. Almost suggests to me last round had two, if we assume each Stockpile pull generates a bunch of vials and one item.
  6. Sort of, I suppose. A naked EoD D1 vote makes Fifth look a bit better to me because that's really kayana. I have GMed E!Fifth enough times that I feel like it doesn't seem a natural move in this circumstances. E!Fifth should be indifferent between V!TUA and V!Stick on D1. We could postulate E!Stick, in which case Bip also potentially stands out for suggesting a new train but it just feels like a very lukewarm EoD for if an Elim were under threat. Even understanding what Araris has said about recent D1 Elim trains in AG8. I do think implication follows more powerfully from Stick to Fifth than vice versa and would usually counsel checking the CW. Minimally that's one obvious place to apply pressure tomorrow. [Can't justify on mobile RIP.]
  7. Bro, check the counts, both JNV and I did them up for you. It's not leftovers - someone used an AF or a Metallurgist action to restock.
  8. Nightfall is a better time for fell deeds performed in secrecy, don't you think? No accountability. Twice the metals, double the kill count =)
  9. What a beautiful colour :'D Hmm: Noted, so this makes our delta: Given the number of interactions in this game, I'm still more comfortable with thinking it's from one AF or from one Metallurgist acting. The lack of vial symmetry also pushes me in that direction.
  10. It'll partly be useful for actions tracking, and following item flows. Which is a bit more my thing because of my wincon, but can be helpful to you guys because a random voter on the successful exe train gets an item, the rest go back into the Stockpile. A killer also gets one random item from their victim, and the rest goes back to the Stockpile. Unfortunately, unlike LG5, you can't really item scan, which had been a nuisance for us Ghostbloods because we didn't want the Village seeing we had items we weren't supposed to have. But of course, if I hit someone and find they have something they aren't supposed to be having =) We gon' have words, my lads. I'm interested in your contraband =) This isn't an issue D1 because even if TUO did start with an item, players only start with one maximum, so there's no way of accounting for Stockpile numbers without postulating someone using an AF D1 or a Metallurgist going for their action D1. I'd probably lean Metallurgist, actually, at the moment. But I think it's only one because the item delta isn't that great. Edited to add: It'll become a bit more tricky at Night as Night actions taking from the Stockpile are not announced, so you absolutely have to watch the delta and do your best to infer from it.
  11. Why? Alright, let's take a look at where the items went. Here's a quick comparison of the Stockpile D1 and N1: D1: N1: What's the delta? Well: The appearance of two items makes me wonder if there were two AFs used D1, but that's a bit odd - we can postulate maybe one AF for now. It's also possible a Metallurgist decided to trigger their ability once during the Day, but that's an odd choice - better to fire at Night to force more accountability with item claiming. Likely some of the people who didn't send in actions may have competed for an item. Would not be surprised if there was some AF competition, or some people brawling with me for pewter, for instance. Someone correct me if I've missed something as I haven't yet set up my tracker spreadsheet.
  12. Anyone wants to place a bet that Araris is going for the Hrovell? If I didn't have prior engagements, I might actually join him in the brawl for old times' sake. I miss Tenth of the Dusk. @StrikerEZ Bro I'm disappointed you backed out Edited to add: I think a player started with an AF and used it. Very light Village credence for that, given TUA's behaviour in LG73 where he hoarded maps. The Hrovell was not in the stockpile in the day.
  13. @StrikerEZ Bro. wanna bring a third train up to a tie with me? I know you love ties >:D Happy to join Araris on JNV.
  14. I'm currently resolved to commit to a pacifist game just because I can, but idle curiosity if you have an item of Thief [Edit: security officer] interest because then you technically could vote both of them :eyes: PM me bro
  15. You and me both bro >> I can't deny that swapping alignments after seven years of Village leads to great confusion, system shock, GM PM breakdowns, and an SE-existential crisis. And massive frustration as you continuously try to suppress your standard Village reflexes >>
  16. Halluk was dead. Kavar hadn't known her very well. Halluk was from Wolfhound, and Wolfhound was attached to Captain Foran. Already, the whispers were starting. A twist of the lockpicks and the mag-lock slipped open. Sergeant Vahn had taken him aside, sometime before the rumours and the whispers had begun, as he always had. "Orders from the captain," Vahn said. "Seems we have saboteurs. Need you to keep it quiet." His expression made it clear what he thought of the likelihood of that happening. Far as Kavar knew, half the barracks was awash in whispers that there were Rosharan saboteurs on board. Vahn beckoned him closer and dumped the bundle on the bunk. Kavar blinked. A variety of implements and weapons tumbled loose on the cloth: he thought he made out a couple of shade guns, and even worse, an anti-investiture knife, still clasped securely in the safety-sheath. He reached out and then drew up short, glancing over at Vahn, who nodded. Kavar picked up one of the knives, flipped it about. On the tang, there was the stamp of Larkin Foundries. A Rosharan knife. He felt a cold tingle crawl down his spine, and the world seemed to slow, seemed to come into sharp clarity. He was keenly aware of where Vahn stood, two quick steps away, of the closest knife—in his boot, so he was better off using the Rosharan knife—and how he would take down Vahn if he had to. Nasaad murci’t, that intense state of focus in which Vahn was no longer Vahn, was an obstacle to be gotten past, a threat that had to be put down no matter the cost. Vahn said, "They found this in Wolfhound." The moment passed. Kavar let out a long steady breath. "Someone supplied him." Vahn regarded him with those cold, almost-colourless eyes. "Sure didn't pick up those Larkin knives from the armoury, don't you think?" Kavar acknowledged the point. "What orders?" "Take two or three others. Look for contraband. The saboteurs have caches somewhere on this ship, if they're gearing up for something. Could be bad. A bomb, mutiny, that sort of thing. And if there's contraband, seize it, secure it, and bring it to the captain. Situation's volatile enough, Aral. Don't think I need to tell you how to play it." "Shev'la," Kavar muttered. He'd spoken to Plaid, and a little to some of the others. And now a woman was dead on the Survivor, and all Kavar could think was that the window of opportunity in which to act was narrowing. One last op, he thought. It was always one last op. But what good would leaving have done? He didn't know how to be anything else, other than a knife. Kad'ika, Ailys had called him, long ago, in the dark hours of intimacy before first light. You could have left, whispered the doubt. Could have made it good to Mira. No, he thought. He'd taught her well enough. Now she walked her own path. And as much as the growing gulf between them and the long silences cut deeper than the anti-investiture knife, he didn't have the right. You and Ailys brought her into this world, he told himself. You have no right, not anymore. Time to see if a saboteur cache was hidden in this locker.
  17. Hmm. So I take it if you are a conscientious security officer who takes non-violent resolution to problems very seriously and would like to confiscate all contraband and make the Loyalists and Traitors resolve their difficulties via negotiation like mature adults - you can't actually confiscate their steel vials because OoA, yeah? Asking for a friend. I'll go back to chilling now <3 hmu in PMs as long as you're fun, idc if you're Village or Evil or Thief, all are welcome!
  18. Can y'all stop crossing the threads I'm confiscating your items or your non-items; please disperse, citizens.
  19. Correction: I haven't played against V!Fifth. I've only ever played against E!Fifth and that was just two iterations of the one game. Ask him to tell you the tragedy of Darth Fifth the Sith Lord in MR38 sometime. Think I did fairly well even if everyone in that game sussed me for yeeting Yoda D1 (sorry Aman D: )
  20. Bro you haven't ever played me as a neutral, how would you know what my neutral meta is smh Edited to add: I haven't ever played me as a neutral and I can confirm my neutral meta is a lot of crying at trying to suppress Village impulses and a lot of chilling and trolling and vibing. Hit me up in PMs guys, down to chill and vibe and just have a good time, who needs analysis anyway Edited to add 2: TBH I have a fairly firmed up Orlok read for the moment =)
