  1. I read Sword of Shannara and Elfstones, didn't enjoy either very much although the post apocalyptic stuff that I picked up on was pretty cool I thought. I started Wishsong, but when I realized that it was just going to be more of the same I stopped. I'll be interested to see how the show goes. My dad was a fan of the series for a long time, although he hasn't really kept up with it, so he's pretty hopeful. If they balance the post ap with the fantasy, and make sure the writing and acting is good and fun, than I could see myself watching the it.
  2. Isn't Felt a confirmed worldhopper as well?
  3. Well you did find one, but I'm afraid to say that he's not new. We've known about his existence for a while, although there's not a ton that we know about him. He's related to Khriss in some way I know that.
  4. I think that he was talking about his local leaders, Bishop level ish I assume, not the Apostles or First Presidency. If not, than I guess I misread, but that was the impression I got, and imperfect Bishops definitely happen.
  5. My er, pointer(?) 2nd toe on both feet is almost exactly the same length and my big toe. Which means that there's more to stub unfortunately.

I've been in lurker mode for a month or two, I've posted maybe five times all summer. For fads, closest I can think of is that I wish the band Imagine Dragons hadn't become quite so mainstream. I didn't know they were a thing when I found them, so it was kind of annoying that I'd picked such a hip band to love. I do not consider myself a hipster. On mobile so I can't quote Elsa too, but that's actually me in my profile.

My favorite movie changes hourly, so let's go with back to the Future 1 right now. I would choose to be Gon from HunterXHunter if forced to be anyone but myself.
  8. Currently laughing my way through Men at Arms, and am coming to enjoy The Coming Anarchy.
  9. I feel like you might be reading too much into this. There's very little data so far to see how "gender matched" the radiants and their spren are. Something you didn't mention, was that I believe that Ym's spren was male ish.
  10. Thanks for the responses! And yeah, violence isn't a problem really. She's read the two stormlight books by herself, so looks like I'll probably just cut the Straff stuff, and maybe the part with Sazed. I'll need to reread those parts.
  11. So as many of you know, I read The Final Empire out loud to my little sister so that I could censor out for her.( Mostly just parts like when Straff took Elend to the whorehouse and other discussions like that) So we finished the book a month or so ago and I finally got WoA for her to read. I was just going to paper clip the pages shut this time as it'd be a lot easier for me. I know I need to do the scene with Straff getting poisoned by Zane and calling in his skaa concubine. Does anyone remember where else I should paper clip?
  12. I liked the movie, really did, but my favorite parts were the interactions between the character's emotions and there wasn't a lot of that. I would have much preffered more time with inter human interaction instead of the long quest to get Joy back to control. While there were interesting parts to the trip back, I thought that it got a little old and was kinda reaching down to make the kids enjoy the movie. I really enjoyed how in movies like Up, the movie never felt like it was aimed just at kids, and I think Inside Out didn't do that very well. I love movies aimed for all ages, not kids movies with enough value for older people. Small difference semantically, but to me it feels like a much larger difference. So, I'm really anticipating a sequel and I really, really hope that now that we've got a background on how the emotions work inside one person, we can see more of the play between humans.
  13. I finally got Powdermage bk. 3 from the library today, as well as Men at Arms for my birthday. There's some other books I need to finish before I start either of them, but quite looking forward to those two.
  14. I believe they're something called Aethers, but I haven't read any of the non-canon books or asked too many questions about them as I don't wish to be spoiled in any way.
  15. Cosmere wide, Brandon clearly marks good people and bad people by the severity of their language. Being good means you can only use minor earth swears and planet ones like "storms" or "rust", but if you're bad or bad ish, then you use those a ton plus you use far worse cusses. Case and point, Adolin Kholin clearly uses "shat", and later in the book turns much darker and assassinates, in cold blood, a high prince. Clean tongues equals clean souls.
  16. From Xenoblade's very own Reyn," It's Reyn Time!!" Another Baldur's Gate one, "There is evil around every corner! Be careful not to step in it.." Minsc From HK-47, of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games, "Recitation: Yes, as I said, I am an assassin droid. It is my primary function to burn holes through meatbags that you wish removed from the galaxy…"
  17. Upvotes so many! So many upvotes needed
  18. Oh gosh........Netero or Mereum vs TLR? First of all that would increase the length of that fight for another 20 episodes You're right though, HxH/cosmere crossover would be very very interesting. aaaaaaaaaaaand Peter is a fan of HxH

......Selfie sticks maybe? I dunno. I'm actually fine with fads, so long as they stay away from me. My favorite color is blue, and there's one Highprince who Sadeas accuses of having absolutely horrible fashion sense, I think his favorite color is probably orange.
  20. My dad's favorite suggestion is a comparative essay of modern american worship of the cinema compared to the ancient greeks and their pantheon of gods. My personal favorite research paper that I've done is one on how Somaliland should be recognized as a sovereign state, separate and independent of Somalia
  21. I think that the main characters( main warrior characters that is) from all of the major shardworlds could probably take most of the homunculi and the alchemists most of the time.
  22. So I've been re-reading WoR, and I was just wondering.....has Elhokar been living a fairly, er, celibant life style?
  23. I've always really liked Sanderfan for the fandom in general, and sharder for 17th shard members. Fanspren.....it is catchy, I'll give it that. I'm pretty attached to Sanderfan though......
  24. Waiting for a patch for Batman:Arkham Knight..........
  25. As a method of entertainment, I agree that they can all be equally entertaining and that individual preferences and tastes are the "ultimate" judge. However, I think that on the whole, books can be physically better for your brain. The amount of processing and the things that Kobold/most everyone, said make a big difference in strengthening brains. You can still learn a lot from movies like the person above says, and some of the most thought provoking works are from movies/tv, I just don't think that they give you the same benefits.
