  1. Also, when we are talking Szeth using a shardblade, are we talking an honorblade, a shardblade, or a sprenblade? Honorblade uses up a ton of stormlight, so he would last even less time than a radiant would, and he does not get Kal's windy sense. If we are talking a shardblade, then it takes 10 heartbeats to summon, a dularium push would knock it out of his hand and make it puff into mist, leaving him disarmed. Sprenblade is an entirely different matter.
  2. A shardblade is metal, and WoB said it could be pushed or pulled, but would need a very strong push or pull to do so. I think Dularium would handle that nicely. The issue with gravitation affecting airborn objects, is that when you shoot an arrow, you suffer from wind resistance reducing the strength of the shot over time which would allow it to be affected by gravitation. A steel push can be maintained at distance, so Vin could shoot a coin and let momentum carry or, or maintain the push all the way through, reducing the effectiveness of gravity or requiring Szeth to increase the amount of stormlight used in order to affect it. Couple that with Dularium, and it would be very difficult for gravitation to affect that shot. It is possible, but it would require a huge investment of stormlight into that surge that takes away from healing, flying, and speed. I am not saying Szeth will win or lose, I need to read up a bit more on this thread to catch up, but I just wanted to point out those two aspects.
  3. Granted, you live on an island that hosts an active volcano (just for the record I totally agree with you and abhor winter weather) I wish to be able to teleport like orson scott card's latest book series "the gatemage" (just for the record as well, I hated both books, but I do like the magic.)
  4. I would just like to add the first phone conversation I had with my girlfriend involved us talking about death (we are not goth/morbid), and weird stories involving bums in NYC (one involving a guy stopping a subway car because he decided to strip completely naked and sing while he walked down the station, and the other involving her way to her bus home blocked by a guy laying on the floor having a one man party). At the end of the phone conversation, she said she had never laughed so much in her life, we are still very much together, and still very much in love. So excrement subject matter doesn't necesarily mean anything. I think he was attracted to her because she was so utterly different than anything he was used to. Every other girl caused him to just go through the motions, but Shallan made him go "Sure um...wait you said what?!" lol. Personally when a woman is unique and original, that grabs my attention first no matter how hot/attractive anyone else is lol.
  5. Done, but you are brain dead I wish to unite adonsalon.
  6. well here at least is a theory as to why burning a spike would be incredibly painful. Wouldn't burning a spike mean you are using up the metal, slowly removing the bind point and eventually have an effect like yanking the spike out? This is all conjecture, i have nothing to base this on
  7. isnt there WoB somewhere where he states that although similar, surges of the same name operate differently from radiant order to radiant order. so the skybreakers division would function differently from the dusbringers division. Which is why i want to see how a truthwatcher uses illumination to see the future
  8. Where have we seen illumination from the perspective of the character? I miss something? I do not consider Dalinar's visions to be illumiination as bondsmiths do not have that surge. True we saw Renarian freak out, but I want to be in his head as he does it. See how it manifests for him. Neither of us is right or wrong, you just want to see one thing, I want to see another lol.
  9. Granted, you now have the perfect pitch in which to tar your roof I wish to fully understand realmatics
  10. Why wouldn't it make sense in Rosharan-genetics?
  11. Well everyone was stating, and from what I believe myself as well is that Hoid has more powers and is more "indestructible" than the Lord Ruler. So he could use whatever ability necessary, whether it be illusion, compounding or etc, to remove the lord rulers atium metalminds. Basically do what Vin did, but easier with all his powers. Hoid is not directly harming the lord ruler, but the lord ruler is still defeated. I was just commenting on the fact that everyone said the biggest limitation of Hoid is being unable to harm anyone, so I was pointing out a loophole Hoid could theoretically exploit.
  12. Maybe sometimes it skips a generation? Both my parents have black hair, yet when my brother and I were younger, we had blond hair like my grandmother's. As we got older, my hair darkened to brown and then almost black, while my brothers became a dirty blonde. So maybe Dalinar does have a mother or father with blonde hair, and it skipped his generation, till he married a woman with blonde hair and popped up more so in Adolin
  13. Couldn't Hoid just walk up to the Lord Ruler, and remove all his metal minds turning him into a pile of ash? Hoid then did not do direct hard.
  14. Actually neither had witnesses. At the final clash that resulted in Szeth's demise, Kal and Szeth had been blazing across the sky for miles. So ultimately when Kal slayed Szeth, there were no witnesses nor anyone around. Though I will say if things were converse, and Adolin had been surrounded by witnesses, it would have played out like all the other times. Dalinar, Renarian, Shallan, Kal, Navani, or anyone else would at least attempt to hold Adolin back. I find this interesting, because without someone to hold him back, to remind him of the right thing to do, ultimately Adolin took Sadeus's life. On one hand true he was exausted, and upset and etc, but this is not the first time this situation came up. Just every other time there were people around to stop him, and he wanted to challenge Sadeus to a duel rather than just attack/kill him.
  15. Granted, but his computer crashes the whole day so you can't view them. I wish Kobold King got his last wish (hows that for an infinite loop lol )
  16. Granted, but without preservation on earth, burning them does nothing I wish I saw Sally selling sea shells by the sea shore
  17. As I have stated in another thread, I have no idea how to search the forums for keywords and such, but there is WoB that Kal and his bond with Syl started long before even going to battle for Tien to keep him safe. If I didn't suck at searching I would post them for you lol
  18. I understand you are talking from a narrative perspective, while I am talking from an ability perspective of my own opinion. I am not saying whether or not we will see it, just I would like to see it to further understand the powers of radiants. Just like I want Adolin to be a dustbringer so I can see abrasion in action already lol
  19. Actually the big thing I want to see with Renarian, is to see him use his precognition from his point of view. Progression we've seen Lift do, I want to see what Renarian sees that made him freak out so much at the end of book 2. That and see him interact with his spren lol
  20. That is all well and good, but it is rather difficult to discuss the theoretical situation as not having to do with amaram when you use him in ur argument and cite what he does in it. So all one can do is reply with things amaram did in turn, and what we think is the reasoning behind those actions. not attacking you or anything dude, just pointing out why it might be difficult for him or her to reply to you without implying you are referring to amaram.
  21. a feruchemist walks into a bar. He angrily rubs the bump on his head and regrets storing sight while walking.
  22. If Calamity is a bad metaphor gone wrong, then maybe David IS Calamity. This could also tie in your theory edgedancer. basically calamity was whole once, but when it was used something went wrong and separated into the entity we know and david. Which would explain david's hatred and yet also fascination with the epics. indirectly they were created by him. totally pulling this outta my but, and not serious at all, but would be REALLY funny if i was right lolol
  23. I will say this much, are you sure YOU aren't a highprince yourself? From what your wrote it sounds like your saying what Adolin did was right simply because he was SUCCESSFUL at it, while Sadeus did not accomplish his ultimate goal lol
  24. Well I know there is WoB that Sazed changed the koloss so they can breed true, is that what you are referring to?
