Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The number of people per train car are as equally divided as possible (except the Vault Car). This usually will not be disrupted unless a large portion of players choose to move to the same car. (If, say, there are 12 players left, and 6 of them choose to go to the Caboose, then there'd still be 6 players going to the Caboose, even though the average would normally be 4 players.) Edit: Also, 12 minutes left.- 527 replies

Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That is correct I'm fine with players not greening out their original votes, as long as its obvious as to which player they're voting for. Nevertheless, I'd encourage players to still green out their retracted votes, to make life easier for everyone. (Also, in case y'all have forgotten, the vote will be randomly decided between the highest-voted if it is a tie, as long the tied players have at least two votes on them.)- 527 replies

Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Actually, all actions, other than train-car-specific actions, can affect anyone in game, other than those in the Vault Car. (That's why there's the Vault Car in the first place.) Nobody begins the game in the Vault Car. Also, the Medical Kit will protect Coinshot Clan and Assassin kills, but not the lynch.- 527 replies

You are technically allowed to vote for yourself, if you really feel like it. However, you cannot have multiple votes cast at the end of the cycle, or else none of them will go through, and you will not receive the coin for it.- 527 replies

Well, due to GMing the QF game and school stuff, I haven't been able to write up an RP. But I'll definitely be more active in future rounds. Anyway, today, I will be trying for an heir.

Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rules clarification, because I just thought of this: The Passenger Car action takes place before coin payments are given out from posting/voting in thread (but after spending money on actions), and the Buffet Car action takes place after coins payments are given out. Hopefully, that should make more sense. Edit: Also, this hasn't come up yet, but bidding for the Assassination ability takes place at the same time as all of the other Purchase Actions. The actual kill, however, doesn't come until after the lynch occurs.- 527 replies

Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Station 1: Departure Gavin Gardre, conductor of The Steelway Express, felt that there was something wrong the moment they left the station. But it was something that he couldn’t quite put his finger on. Was it that one gentleman that tended to shy away from conversation? The one who only had one eye? The hulking koloss-blooded man? The people who had arrived at this station sure were a motley bunch, but that didn’t necessarily mean that they were suspicious, right? Still, Gavin couldn’t afford to let his guard down. He’d heard of many other trains that had been robbed by innocent-looking people, who wished to rob and steal in order to make a living. Most of these robberies didn’t end up violently, but still, profits had been lost. Gavin wasn’t in any position to let that happen to the train. Not now, after its first unveiling. Gavin walked from the passenger car into the cabin of the steam engine. “Interesting bunch we have here,” Gavin commented to one of the train engineers, who was busy shoveling coal into the boiler. The man grunted in response, wiping sweat from his brow. “Ah well, I…” Gavin heard a click from behind him. “Get on your knees,” a loud voice spoke in Gavin’s ear. “Put your hands up.” I knew it! Gavin thought angrily, slowly complying to the man’s orders. Rust and Ruin, they called me paranoid, but I knew it! The man walked around Gavin until he was fully in Gavin’s view, his pistol pointed straight at Gavin’s head the whole time. Gavin recognized the man as someone who had just gotten on at this station. Heatherlocke, or something? The man seemed to be in dapper attire, so Gavin had dismissed him as another rich nobleman just trying to get back to his mansion or something. Gah, why had he thought that? Just because he looked well-off didn’t mean that he wouldn’t try to rob a train. Well, too late for that now. “I’m facing a dilemma, Gavin Gardre,” Heatherlocke spoke, his pistol still pointing at Gavin’s forehead. “Pray tell,” Gavin said, trying to keep his irritation at being robbed out of his voice. “You see, the rest of the Coinshot Clan wishes me to just take you hostage and rob the train. But, well, our house would benefit greatly if you were dead, being one of the major lords of one of our rivals and all.” Ah, so there’s a number of them on board, Gavin thought, barely considering Heatherlocke’s threat. Good to know. “So I am assuming that you wish to kill me?” Gavin said, unfazed. “That is correct.” There was an awkward silence, and then a loud metallic clang as Heatherlocke crumpled to the ground. The engineer who had been shoveling coal stood, holding his shovel proudly above the bandit. “The idiot,” Gavin mumbled. “Next time you try to take someone hostage and rob a train, make sure you’re alone first.” “Listen up!” Gavin shouted to the assembled passengers in the passenger car. “There was just an attempt on my life--” Rather sad attempt, at that, Gavin thought, but his words had their effect. “--and there are now members of the Coinshot Clan on this very train!” Many of the passengers gasped. This was not how many of them imagined their ride this evening would be like. “It’s up to you guys to figure out how to find them, but whatever the case may be, I want them dead! Their little clan will not make a mockery of House Gardre! None of you are to leave this train until those bandits are found!” “But that is preposterous!” a tophat-wearing noble exclaimed. “You cannot keep us in here against our will, like animals!” Gavin frowned. “I can, and I will. Anyone who leaves this train without my permission will be shot.” “You’re mad!” “No,” Gavin said shaking his head. “If this Clan is left alive, they will only begin robbing other trains, and possibly threatening and murdering those people. I know that none of you wish this to happen to you, but trust me that it’s for the best.” With that, Gavin left the car, the passengers inside sitting in stunned silence. The game is afoot! This cycle will end in 24 hours, and there is no Assassination going on today. I will have the train car PMs set up momentarily. Good luck! Player List- 527 replies

Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
About 45 minutes left to sign up! Also, due to the large number of players, I've made an adjustments to the rules. I've removed the Spying action, because it worked awkwardly and could end up being extremely redundant, and replaced it with a new Purchase Action: Assassination. (The rules have been edited accordingly.) Assassination [? Coins]: Every few cycles (randomly determined), you will be informed that there is an Assassin that can be hired. Each player may bid a certain number of coins to have the Assassin kill a target player (you cannot choose to make the Assassin target no one). The player who bid the most coins has their kill go through, while all others who bid will have their coins returned to them. If it is a tie, and both players choose different Assassination targets, the Assassin will become conflicted and will make no kill. (Both players will be reimbursed if this occurs.) The Assassin kill takes place simultaneously with the Coinshot Clan kill.- 527 replies

Alright, don't really have the time that I thought to lay out all of my suspicions in a super-organized way with tons of links to posts and stuff, but I'll summarize what I think about Dow, Kipper/Spaghetti, Haelbarde, Araris, and Claincy. First of, with Dow, a lot of people have been acting as if he's been soft-confirmed for being consistently hounded after by Bort, but I am not sure that this is as confirming as people may think. Winter did, at one point, list Bort as her biggest suspicion, and actually gave a short explanation of it. That said, it is less likely that Dow is a Cultist, coupled with the fact that Dow put himself into the limelight on Day 1, as with Wonko, which is, as I said, not exactly an Eliminator thing to do that early on. And, to be honest, for the last 4, my suspicions for them aren't exactly that strong. However, if we are to believe that the Cultists did indeed try to kill Orlok for being Lovers with Araris, then Araris wouldn't be a Cultist (unless the Cultists really cannot stand lovebirds in their organization ). With Kipper and Hael, eh, they could go either way. Haven't really done anything very noticeable to make me see them as good or evil. (But then again, it's the people who don't tend to be noticeably evil who actually are...) So that leaves Claincy, who I am slightly more suspicious of. First of all, throughout the game, the known Cultists have seemingly ignored him, only pointing out that he has legitimate reason to be inactive. But let's think about this: if he does have so much RL stuff going on, why has he never bothered handing over his role to a pinch hitter, like Wonko and Aonar have? Not exactly suspicious, but still a bit odd that he'd choose to try to hang onto the game with so much going on. Claincy has been pointedly noncommittal (which I guess makes sense for being relatively active, but still). Take this post, in which he lists 5 suspicions, whom he also gives a reason not to be suspicious of. This tends to be a trend in many of Claincy's posts this game. However, on Night 3, he does suggest Bort as a Poison target, which alleviates my suspicions somewhat, unless the Cultists were really convinced that they could take out Phatt within the next cycle or so. And, to be honest, I can't find much else that he's said so far that makes him particularly suspicious. He did claim to have been contacted by Honey Badger (after he was lynched), who told him that Badger was a Pirate targeting Zas, which I find to be a bit suspect, as it cannot be proven. But, well, we have to lynch someone, and Claincy's been pulling out the "inactive" card far too often this game, I think.

Fair enough, Clanky. I realized that by the end of my post that some of the points I had made hadn't matched up, so I didn't truly suspect you as much as I probably let on; mostly, I just wanted to see what you would say under that sort of pressure. Lynching you would've been a bad idea anyway, as it could possibly rid us of a Citizen Elantrian, which we don't really want. If you gift the poison vial today, though, it'll definitely be a lot of evidence in your favor. Until then, I'll have to figure out who the next best suspect is (I swear, if Luckat's the last Cultist... ).

Riingar grinned a fiendish smile to himself, and walked straight through the front hall of the King’s Palace. (Or was it the Queen’s Palace now? …Or the King/Queen’s Palace? The Monarch’s Palace?) The palace guards did nothing to stop him. He was, after all, literally glowing with power. Aye, I could get used ta this! Of course, their Queen/King/Monarch was now an Elantrian, too. That ain’t fair, Riingar had thought upon hearing the news. I spent 8 whole nights in that thar city, tryin’ ta make it gooder again, an’ she jus’ gets a boatload o’ powers, just like that? But if Riingar had learned anything from inside of Elantris, it was that life tended to not be fair. It certainly wasn’t for Sienene, who had been sacrificed by the Jeskeri Cultists. Afterwards, Riingar and the other Elantrians had decided to take out their frustration on Diren and Borter… and it turns out both of them were Jeskeri Cultists! The fiends! Riingar walked through a pair of large wooden doors, into the King’s court, where everyone else appeared to be gathered. Many of the nobles cast suspicious glances at each other, trying to discern friend from foe. Riingar drew Aon Ehe, adding the chasm line, and a large fireball burst forth towards the ceiling. “ARR!!!” Riingar yelled. “Y’ALL BE QUIET!!!” The fireball and Riingar’s mad yelling quieted everyone down. “Now, I heard that thar be some suspects o’ the Jeskeri Cultists,” Riingar said. “Aye, I… arr, I had a list somewhere. But never ye mind! Thar be Cultists in this room, an’ I think one of ‘em be that fortune teller!” He made a swooping, grand hand gesture towards Clankii, whose skin had, like the Queen/King/Monarch’s, had turned silvery-white overnight. Totally unfair. But not the reason that Riingar was suspicious of him. “Aye, ye wonderin’: what be th’ charges against this self-proclaimed soothsayer?” Riingar looked down, trying to rummage something out of his pocket. “An’ actually, that be my thoughts too, ‘cause I left me notes in Elantris, methinks. Ah, I be back later!” Sorry about the inactivity, but I’ve been… indisposed for the last 8 cycles. Hopefully, this will make up for my absence: As others have done, let’s narrow the list down to the unconfirmed Citizen players, excluding Seonid and Wyrm, because the reasons for them being Citizens has already been discussed. So, the list: Pifferdoo/Emerald Wonko/Sart Ostrich/Silverblade Clanky Araris Kipper/Spaghetti Hael Dow Claincy I'm going to go through this one by one, because I’m meticulous like that. In this post, I’ll be covering the first four players I have listed. I’ll explain the rest later, after I take a rest from poring over the entire game. Pifferdoo/Emerald Obviously, Pifferdoo wasn’t active, and had to be replaced, which isn’t necessarily a good or evil action, but it does mean that there isn’t much to be gleaned until around Day 4, when Emerald said this, saying that he thought of Bort as suspicious. Now, considering that Phattemer was killed on Night 4, and the Cultists weren’t yet aware of the second Priest at that particular moment, putting extra suspicion on Bort, when he still (from the Cultists’ standpoint) had a chance of survival. Doesn’t make too much sense. He also defends Winter in that post, but so did a bunch of other innocents, so I don’t know if we can fault him there. Then, there’s this post, in which Emerald points out that Clanky has been using RP as a voting excuse. Not too helpful right now, unless we find out that Clanky is indeed a Cultist. However, because of this post, in which he clearly suggested Luckat as Meta’s lynch target last Night, I highly doubt that Emerald is a Cultist. At that point, I think that, with enough persuasion, Meta’s scan might have gone towards a different player, but that kind of solidified it towards Luckat. Wonko/Sart Let’s start off at Day 1, where Wonko basically decided the vote. This already makes him a little less suspicious in my eyes, because making a decisive action that early on, when making an incorrect lynch causes you to be put into the limelight and scrutinized, isn’t really something that Eliminators tend to do. Not only that, but all of the other players that were under threat of the lynch have been confirmed Citizens, so he wouldn’t have done that for the sole purpose of saving a fellow Cultist from the lynch. Skip ahead to Day 3, where he relays Phatt’s message to the thread. Some parts of the message’s meaning were mixed up, but I think that could have been a compounding of my thoughts to Phatt, from Phatt to Wonko, and from Wonko to the thread. Anyway, it did help to alert Seon-holders to the presence of a Priest, which could help confirm things. Of course, I don’t think that it would’ve been a good idea for a Cultist to not relay the message, either. There’s not too much from Wonko/Sart after that, until now, when Sart revealed that he gave his Seon to Meta on Day 5. This could be a Cultist gambit, but then again, giving a Seon to a confirmed role (especially Meta) is just a bad idea for the Cultists. It’s pretty much ended up with a whole bunch of their attacks failing. So, overall, I think Wonko/Sart isn’t one of the more likely suspects. Ostrich/Silverblade I’ll be honest; their inactivity hasn’t been the most helpful. Still suspicious about Ostrich apparently being a lurker, without saying anything, but being the only one to say nothing at all also puts you in the limelight, and for a Cultist to ignore the pleas to be brought forth? If a lynch on Ostrich were about to go through… well, even if he did talk, just look what happened to Spencer. Sure, they have vote manipulation coordination on their side, but that still would cast some heavy suspicion on Ostrich. Anyway, that’s too much thinking. I’d place Ostrich/Silverblade at medium suspicion. Clanky Clanky’s my biggest suspicion right now, an’ here be why: On Day 2, Clanky’s first post puts up a confusing/misleading reason for last Night’s kill, and votes for Hael. Bort (a confirmed Cultist) flags that as a bit suspicious for doing so with little evidence to back it up, but then almost immediately goes after Dowanx. Winter (another confirmed Cultist) also voted for Clanky, as did Kipper (both for the same reasoning: Clanky using RP, but neither of them elaborated much on that point). However, Winter seemed eager to remove her vote after only a little bit of explanation from Clanky. (This is later brought up by Kas on Day 6, and Clanky responds by saying this, that “almost everyone has said something about me being slightly suspicious”. That exaggeration seems like an easy way to lose suspicion over something like that, without actually having any defense against that point.) On Night 3, Winter makes a post that supports Clanky (which, I note, has more reasoning as to that decision than anyone else). She also puts some suspicion towards Bort, implying that the Eliminators are willing to put suspicion on each other, if necessary (which could explain their suspicion towards Clanky). Onto Day 4. Clanky starts off by asking this question to Wilson (who is a confirmed Citizen). I don’t know, but that just reeks of Clanky trying to get Wilson to reveal secretive information about her role/items. And if Wilson didn’t explain well enough, then it might cast suspicion onto her. On Day 5, Clanky wrote up this post. The first thing that he analyzes is the fact that he believes that Luckat (a confirmed Cultist) is innocent, due to her posts seeming “genuine,” and that it is an adequate excuse for not posting analysis. Luckat, as opposed to any of the others, such as Claincy, who have been fairly quiet but said the same thing. On Day 8, as Kas pointed out, he lists the possible Odivs, putting the confirmed players first (Kas, Wilson, and Twei), saying that Jain would be more likely to pick a confirmed Citizen than a potential Cultist. And yet, that’s exactly what Jain did, selecting Luckat as an Odiv. Yeah, sure, could be a coincidence, whatever. But the point is that doing this could’ve been an attempt to deter Meta from scanning the players who could be both a Cultist an Odiv, and finding out that Luckat’s a Cultist. Any now onto today. While I don’t really doubt that Clanky is a Debtor, the evidence stacked up against him makes me question whether he has a poison vial, and whether that was obtained legitimately (i.e. he had it the entire game). And, Clanky, if you do have a Poison Vial, you should’ve spoken up about it a while ago (especially since you don’t have a role that would make you a Cultist target). This just seems to be too coincidental for you to be revealing this now, when you finally are up for a lynch, and the need for Poison Vials is gone. Now, Clanky, just because I have all of this evidence against doesn't mean that you are indeed a Cultist. However, I've made my points against you, and they should (hopefully) be clear, so if you want to make a defense for yourself, do so now. I have a couple of other suspicions in mind (i.e. most of the other players that I haven't explained yet), so if you can convince me otherwise, I'll move my vote off.

Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, normally, the game begins at the same time that the signups end, but I can extend the signups by one day and have the game begin on the 20th, as long as nobody has any problems with it.- 527 replies

Renea Gardre frowned from atop a starlit balcony from the newly-constructed Keep Gardre. She has underestimated Rashek, in one regard: the man certainly did have the powers he claimed, managing to repel any invaders in this new city of Luthadel, and construct his giant spire, within a time that she would’ve previously thought impossible. For a time, Renea was worried that, no matter how much support she would be able to garner, she wouldn’t be able to stop Rashek. But no, there was no way that he could survive indefinitely. From the information that Rashek had openly (and foolishly) given some of the other nobles, the Allomancy that he wielded could only work when he had metal available for him to “burn”. But, well, couldn’t she just get an assassin to kill him in his sleep? Allomancy didn’t seem like it could work so easily subconsciously, and even if it did, as long as he had no sources of metal, Rashek would be dead. Boom. Unfortunately, Renea was beginning to realize that this wasn’t going to be the quick and easy game that she had first believed. The other nobles seemed to be rather loyal to Rashek, and from what her servants had reported, hiring an assassin to kill Rashek would… not be easy, to say the least. There was something else, something other than Allomancy, that made him far stronger than he should be. Or, maybe it was just Allomancy, only taken to an extreme degree. “Edwin,” Renea called, gesturing to one of her servants, a middle-aged man with a long beard. Like all of the other servants, he wore a long, silky robe that was in the traditional house colors: green and gold. The servant bowed deeply, a smile barely flickering across his face as he did so. “How may I serve you, milady?” Edwin asked. Renea turned to the servant and gave him a warm smile, as she did to all of her servants. “Please go to Keep Urbain and tell Lord Urbain that I will be present at his ball. I shall hope that the man is at least semi-hospitable.” Renea chuckled. She wasn’t completely aware of all of the other lords and ladies of Luthadel yet, but everyone knew that Gamic Urbain was a drunkard. She could use that to her advantage, of course. Gamic did seem to have a number of skilled laborers under his House’s tutelage; no doubt, having access to some of the best artisans in the region would be an asset. Edwin bowed again, and turned to leave. “Wait, Edwin, please deliver these schematics that my engineers have developed to the men downstairs. We have the contracts for development now.” Edwin’s eyes widened. “The new residential district?” Renea nodded. “There are a lot of servants throughout Luthadel, and they aren’t being treated as well as they ought to. With this district set up within Luthadel, not only will we able to provide decent lodging for a large portion of the city’s population, but we should also make a decent profit in rent.” “I can’t believe--” “I’m only doing what is best,” Renea said. “Or at least what I think is best. The world has been torn apart, and while Rashek is trying to hold it together, it will take the best of men to return it to the way it once was.” Renea looked up at the night sky, the twinkling stars far above seeming far fainter than they had just a few months earlier, ash blocking much of their light. “Only fools would cause this much destruction,” she muttered to herself, looking out over the balcony again.

Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yes, I suppose that you could say that there are two actions each cycle: the train car action (the action specific to the car you are in, such as baking or gambling), and one of the Payment Actions. All Actions should be sent to me in the PM that I will set up (which will include your alignment and starting coins), once the game begins. The only exceptions to this are the lynch vote, which is done in-thread, and the Caboose vote, which only takes place for players in the Caboose PM group. No, game discussion will not be solely held in the different PM groups; most of it should be done in the game thread, as that is the only way in which you can vote to lynch a player or earn coins for posting or voting.- 527 replies

Quick Fix Game 8: The Steelway Express
Renegade replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Getting thrown off of the train will only nullify your vote and actions for that cycle; it doesn't count as a lynch. And yes, the members of the Coinshot Clan will be informed of their fellow members at the beginning of the game. They will also be informed of which player is performing the kill at the beginning of each cycle.- 527 replies

It is the advent of industry on Scadrial. With developments in machinery and mass production, connecting the farthest reaches of the Elendel Basin is becoming easier than ever. To promote this era of revolution, House Gardre has developed and produced a new steam train, dubbed The Steelway Express. This locomotive is capable of pulling hundreds of passengers, as well as valuable supplies, to a choice destination. Of course, these “valuable supplies”, including several crates of gold and aluminum, are also the target of a group of bandits, who are not afraid to kill in order to have their way. Not only that, but they are unnaturally good with disguises… Not to worry! You and your fellow passengers happen to be rather adept in the art of inquisition. All you need to do is figure out which of the passengers in the car are the bandits, and kill ‘em off. Simple, right? The Game You are a passenger aboard The Steelway Express, being held hostage by the vicious group of bandits known as the Coinshot Clan. While reports of their Allomantic powers are suspect, they have a number of firearms, making them a force to be reckoned with. There are no special roles in this game; all players are either regular Passengers or Coinshot Clan members. The goal for the Passengers is to find the members of the Coinshot Clan amongst them and lynch them, while the goal for the Coinshot Clan is to outnumber the Passengers and take control of the train and its cargo. Cycles in this game are referred to as a “Stations” for RP purposes, and are 24 hours long. During each cycle, the passengers will discuss who they think is suspicious, and vote to lynch them upon reaching the next Station. Tied lynch votes will result in one of the highest-voted players being killed, randomly. One of the Coinshot Clan members will be selected each cycle to kill a target (with the kill action rotating in a repeating pattern). The Coinshot Clan does not get a google doc to communicate in, but can send 1 PM to the player making the kill each cycle (however, neither player can reply to this PM). Other PMs set up directly between players are not allowed in this game, but separate PM groups will be set up by the GM each cycle for every train car. Coins & Payment Actions Everyone will begin with a certain number of coins (which will vary from player to player). Every cycle that a player posts something (relevant to discussion), he/she receives one coin. One additional coin will be earned if that player has a vote placed on someone at the end of the cycle (regardless if their vote becomes nullified). Players may not give coins to one another (everyone’s too greedy to be charitable), and all coins are given to the conductor upon death (i.e. removed from the game). The universal usefulness of currency can come in handy. Each cycle, you may choose to spend coins to perform one of the following actions. The player making the Coinshot Kill may still perform a Payment Action. (Note that these actions occur before coin payouts each cycle.) Postal Service [1 Coin]: Hires a messenger, allowing you to send a message to the GM, to be anonymously delivered to the player of your choice after the cycle is over. Medical Service [3 Coins]: Targets another player, giving them emergency medical services in case they are wounded. If the target player was attacked, their death will be prolonged by one cycle, and the use of this ability will be shown in the write-up. If the player was not attacked, you still pay the 3 coins. A player cannot have their life prolonged for more than 1 cycle in a row. Assassination [? Coins]: Every few cycles (randomly determined), you will be informed that there is an Assassin that can be hired. Each player may bid a certain number of coins to have the Assassin kill a target player (you cannot choose to make the Assassin target no one). The player who bid the most coins has their kill go through, while all others who bid will have their coins returned to them. If it is a tie, and both players choose different Assassination targets, the Assassin will become conflicted and will make no kill. (Both players will be reimbursed if this occurs.) The Assassin kill takes place simultaneously with the Coinshot Clan kill. Seating Arrangements [2 Coins]: Allows you to choose which car you will be placed in for the following cycle, rather than being seated randomly. Choosing to be seated in the Vault Car costs 6 coins, rather than 2. Train Cars Each cycle, all players will be evenly split up into a number of different train cars. The car that a player will be placed in will be randomized, unless they use the “Seating Arrangements” action. Each train car will have its own separate PM group in which to speak, and all players in each train car will be able to participate in a certain activity, exclusive to that car (see below). Buffet Car: The Buffet Car is where players may bake foods, which some may consider a delicacy. In here, you may choose to bake a hearty meal for any other passenger in the Buffet Car (via PM to the GM), causing that passenger to unwillingly pay you 1 coin for your delightful culinary skills, unless they have no coins to give. All baked good transactions between players occur simultaneously at the end of the cycle. You will be informed of who baked food for you once the cycle is over. Passenger Car: The Passenger Car is supposed to be a place for passengers to relax, but during these shenanigans, tensions are rather high. Luckily, the conductor has come around with a gambling game that might cheer you up. (Then again, it might not.) Each player can choose to pay x number of coins, in the hopes of getting rewarded 2x coins at the end of the cycle. However, there’s a catch: the payout for everyone in the car will only go through if the total number of coins paid in the car is less than y coins (y varies from cycle to cycle). If the combined number of coins bet by everyone in the car is at least y coins, not only does nobody receive the payout, but the conductor takes all of the coins bet! Caboose: Here at the rear end of the train is a little car in which the people have big aspirations. All players in the Caboose may vote for any player in the Caboose PM. The player with the most of these votes is kicked off of the train, effectively role-blocking any actions and votes that they took this cycle (however, they can still be affected normally by other actions taken against them). In the case of a tie in votes, one of the top-voted players is randomly selected to be kicked off of the train. The player who was kicked off will not be revealed in the write-up. Vault Car: While it might not have the most scenic view, the Vault Car allows passengers to travel in relative comfort and security. Players inside of this car are immune to all actions taken by players outside of the Vault Car (excluding the lynch vote). Players inside may still use actions on players outside of the car. Unlike the other cars, players are not randomly placed into this car. Instead, they must pay 6 coins in order to take a turn in the Vault Car. Action Sequence Caboose role-block→Payment Actions (except Assassination)→Coin Payouts (including Buffet & Passenger Cars)→Lynch→Kill Actions So, welcome to QF 8! I'm sure you're all surprised to see a Mistborn game without any Allomancy; I felt like changing things up a bit. Signups for the game will conclude on Saturday, June 20th. If you have any questions/clarifications about game rules, please don't hesitate to ask! Also, if you cannot join the game for whatever reason, but wish to watch, PM me if you would like to join the Spec doc. As this is a QF, there won't be any need for pinch-hitters in this game. Renea Gardre wasn’t exactly known for her timeliness. But with that, there was great reason. “The man who makes the first decision is the first to fall,” as she always said. Therefore, Renea was content to let the other nobles accept themselves to Rashek’s offer while she thought it over. “Will you follow me?” Renea frowned. Whatever had happened to Rashek, it had made him… different. Not just with the powers that he now apparently had. More forceful. More in control. The man had been a simple packman before, right? And now he’d apparently glimpsed godhood. On one hand, Renea knew that making an enemy of someone as powerful as Rashek claimed would be a very dangerous idea indeed. And even if Rashek was bluffing about the extent of his supposed powers, the other men had fallen right into his obedience without much coercion. Were they really all such cowards? Did they just want a slice of his supposed powers? Or did they actually believe that whole “saving humanity” gimmick? Whichever way, making an enemy of Rashek would make her house an enemy of a number of strong nobles. And doing so was foolish, at best. But on the other hand, Renea was not one to be forced into subservience so easily. Her family had grown strong over the years because they had refused to submit. Had refused to give in to the will of others. The idea of following this man -- who had only a short time ago had been a simple packman -- made her cringe. Renea considered Rashek in thought. No, perhaps she would follow this man. Not because she liked any of his attributes. He was arrogant… proud… conceited… overall, he’d likely be an awful ruler. And that’s exactly why she’d follow him. The fool would attempt to take over the known world -- maybe even succeed, too -- but then he’d see just how difficult it would be to run such an empire. And he had too much pride to be able to hand over the reigns. It would collapse within decades. Renea put on her most convincing smile. “I will follow you, Lord Rashek.”

“Ay, ye scurvy dogs, grab yer swaggerin’ garb an’ sell me a boatload o’ loot! Sunshine’s a-wastin’!” Riingar gestured wildly, ordering his crewmembers to seek out and haggle with the other merchants gathered around the Court. Riingar’s crew of finely dressed scallywags had their reputation to keep up, of course. Indeed, as Riingar’s men sprang into action, he heard whispers about his sales methods. “Aggressive negotiations indeed.” “That fellow drives a hard bargain.” “Riingar. Yes, the pirate one. Yes, like Dreok Crushthroat or Jatae the Insatiable.” “Don’t care how much they smell, they’ve got the best products from the farthest reaches of Opelon.” Aye, Riingar did have a reputation to keep. In fact… Riingar stopped, peering around the palace grounds. Thar be more people here than usual, Riingar noted. None of his old merchant rivals appeared to be present, though. That was always a good sign. If Gammai had showed up on a bustling day like today, Riingar might’ve torn the fiend’s head right off. He had, in fact, torn a few heads off before, but those had been back in his pirating days. But if someone like Gammai pulled off something like he did last time… Riingar’s merchants ran around the busy Court, adding to the general confusion as they traded, sold, and made an all-around great profit. Riingar swelled with pride. Only took a few years, he thought, an’ I have more loot than I ever coulda got from piratin’. A shame that he was about to lose it all. Riingar grinned up at the sky, taking in the breeze, and his eyes inexplicably fell on the large city of Elantris looming high above the horizon. Elantris, the city where the dead-but-not-really-dead people went. Riingar frowned, looking quizzically at the city walls. Wonder what life in thar be like… Well, figured that I ought to do some sort of RP before I turn into a zombie and they haul me off to Elantris. So see ya on the other side, mateys!

“Haul yon booty ashore, lads!” Riingar shouted, clambering down from the crow’s nest of his fine vessel, the Fair Exchange. There were profits to be made today, and Riingar couldn’t let a second go to waste. “Arg, careful wit’ those crates o’ spices, mateys! Ye remember, we picked ‘em from yonder Svorden! Wit’ hostilities in the Fjordell Empire makin’ travel difficult fer most merchants, we ought to make a killin’!” A few of Riingar’s crew members, carrying stacks of wooden crates, stopped and stared nervously at their captain. “Erm… a bloodless killin’, of course,” Riingar clarified. “Aye. Now, off ye go! The King’s Court ain’t waitin’ fer ourrr shipment, an’ I ain’t either!” As the crewmembers hurried down the gangplank, Riingar followed afterwards, glancing back at the Fair Exchange. She was a fine ship, aye, but Riingar couldn’t shake the feeling that he wouldn’t see her again. Ah well. It was probably just the pre-trade anxiety again. Though, in all honesty, most merchants tended to be far more afraid of Riingar than he was of them… maybe it was the pegleg? “Me pegleg...” Riingar chuckled, turning his attention back towards Kae’s bustling port. In a way, perhaps it was the pegleg that cast fear into the hearts of some he traded with. Not the leg itself, but what it symbolized. That he was a pirate… once. That he had plundered the seas of Opelon, looted treasures from faraway Teoish ports, and ruthlessly murdered those who dared defy him. But those days were over. He had spent a considerable amount of time locked up for his heinous crimes, but he had been set free from prison with a new goal: to be the best merchant that the continent of Opelon had ever seen! And, aye, the fame and glory from his old pirating days did help in this regard. That, and the fact that all of his of his old loyal crew had been willing candidates to help with his trading business. “Arr, let us be goin’, then!” Riingar announced to his crew, striding forth into Kae. It was a new day, and for Riingar, that meant plenty of new opportunities for loot to be made. As long as he didn’t run into any of his old rivals… Ol’ Riingar be back from the high seas (but is a legitimate businessman now… honest), which means I be usin' pirate speak fer this game!

No! NO! Phattemer, you've gone too far this time! You can cause my entire faction to distrust me, attempt to get me murdered, infiltrate our faction, lie and deceive, threaten to reveal integral faction information, actually reveal integral faction information, and try to coerce my role from me, but nobody makes "then/than" grammar mistakes and gets away with it that easily!
