Me: * flashbacks of meticulously destroying literally every star system in the galaxy with supernova bombs while listening to "I Can't Decide" on repeat. * ...just don't have the time anymore.

    I was witness to bird murder (birder?) in the church's front yard the other Sunday. My brother called me over to see a large bird sitting in the grass--a bird which turned out to be a falcon. Said falcon took one look at us and flew away, a clump of something ruffled and feathery grasped in its talons. Apparently, the church is not a place of sanctuary if you happen to be a sparrow.

    Seriously helpful. I will treat this like a checklist. As for the interrogation: it's cool. I don't mind. I made myself a sizable enough part of this that I can't complain that people are curious when I suddenly disappear. (Can I start calling myself the RP's Night's Sorrow now? Famous and integral to the lore but mysteriously absent for reasons unknown? Yes? No? ...I'll take that as a no, then. )

    Coraline is nearly tied with The Dark Crystal for "Best Dark Fantasy Film Ever Made." A seriously fantastic work. I especially love the cat. Cats as wise interdimensional travelers simply makes so much sense.

    Honestly, I'm not even sure what's happening in the RP these days. Half the characters being discussed on the Question I couldn't tell you a thing about. Almost all the new characters besides Lyla kind of blended together in my mind, and I'm increasingly confused about what exactly I'm supposed to be working towards in all the various character arcs I'm writing. The days when I had my finger on the RP's pulse, arguably the guy to ask about any Oregon-related inquiry, are long past. That said, I do still enjoy writing these characters when I actually get around to doing so. The very last thing I want to see is this RP shriveling up and dying, and I will do my part to prevent this from happening. ...that said, at some point I might take Chouta up on his offer to write for some of my bit characters, 'cause I have a lot. Oh, and Twi has my blessing, when it comes time for her to take up the Shard of Reputation.

    Same reason there's a singer who goes by "Pink"; sometimes a one-syllable word can be more catchy and memorable than something longer.

    That would actually make for a great character plot if Valere were to actually appear. Imagine if one of the oil constructs witnessed one of his brethren melting upon coming into contact with something, and then having to keep the fact that he knows his master's weakness a secret lest he get melted too.

    Random idea: he doesn't, strictly speaking, bring people back from the past. He can cause figures in oil paintings to materialize as living and breathing people, but their personalities and memories aren't consistent with who those people really were. They're very heavily influenced by how Valere perceives those people.

    If there's an epic war going on between the house elves and the doxies, one wonders why you aren't framing the RP around that.
