  1. That was... really something in the grand tradition of this RP's "really something"s. You may find him... but will you know what to do about him if you do? Of course not. Just being deliberately contrary. I don't even agree with everything I said in the numbered points. No, "omniscient" refers to when the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of all the characters in the scene. Most of the RP is written in a basic third person narrative, in which only a single character's viewpoint is portrayed at a time.
  2. 1. Third person omniscient stinks. 2. Remember, your characters don't have to actually interact with everyone else. Staying isolated in their own world works for Möbius, so it can work for you too! 3. Try to repeat other player's dialogue as often as possible. It lends nice continuity between posts and can give extra insight into the way your character reacts to the conversation. 4. The first few RP posts are the easiest, and then it gets way harder because you're constantly on the brink of cracking under the pressure of having a bazillion eyes on you and fans of your character and oh sweet Calamity if I ruin this post everyone's going to hate me and I just can't take it please make it stop I just wanted to write fanfiction... ... ... Okay, so I'm being deliberately contrary. There's already a lot of great advice here, so I'll just say that posts never go as poorly as you think they will when you actually sit down and write. Getting posts out as quickly as they're needed is a greater virtue than obsessive quality control, and a virtue I still struggle to master. (Any kind of omniscient writing style really doesn't sit right with me, though. It's best in my opinion to keep the narration centered entirely on what your character knows.)
  3. There's no such thing as evolution. There's only a list of animals LarkoftheRiver has allowed to survive.
  4. Saw you on reddit! Awesome that you posted it here too! This is, of course, pretty much the greatest item in human history. Upon having it signed its level of material value will exceed Excalibur, the fossil missing link between apes and humans, and the Holy Grail all in go.
  5. One of our neighbors has decided to celebrate Earth Day with one of the quaint rural rituals we have 'round these parts! ...by which I mean, bulldozing one of the wooded areas on his property. This is not what you would call a "green" part of Texas.
  6. Best of luck on all points, Comatose. We look forward to seeing you around again!
  7. On another note entirely... it's Earth Day! Please take a moment out of your days to hear some important messages from members of the Epic community. Remember, it's for the planet.
  8. I guess we could factor in the negation of death-related trauma as one of the quirks of his power. Like Deathwish not feeling pain when his damage reflection kicks in or Lucentia not flinching when she's shot in the face.
  9. Mestiv's signature is starting to scare me.
  10. Our official timeline is here.
  11. Exactly. Thank you. Aldo has enhanced mental capacity, but it only goes so far as calculating where a ball will wind up if he bounces it at a certain angle. Stormegeddon is a more Moriarty-like schemer, one that would be impossible in an RP where the writers themselves can't always calculate in advance what the characters are going to do.
  12. I don't have anything against it. Just remember not to godmod and to consult with me before having the City Guard make any decisions about him. Thanks.
  13. We have Epics in the RP that don't seem to find it particularly traumatic, like Timeport, but still. Calling this guy's MO of "destroy everything because you can't stop me" a strategy is like calling the Hulk a genius-level tactician.
  14. I'm... a little hesitant about an Epic with the power to be "super smart."
  15. I don't think it would be that easy without dead!Adelmo's testimony. Assuming right off the bat that Backtrack was stalked by a commando from The Dalles all the way back to Portland and killed just when he got back to the MoNA would be kind of weird. If I were Lightwards I'd be more inclined to guess one of the other Epics still in the Museum, none of which he knows well or trusts, was the one to kill him over some grievance. Until interrogating the dead Adelmo, of course.
  16. The Agent Formerly Known As Clarence, or Adelmo, is an operative for The Dalles City Guard. He was sent to bring Backtrack back to the city out of the fear that Backtrack would divulge information about The Dalles to one of the many Portland Epics who would use such info for ill.
  17. "Do you see this 'family-size' dinner, Jared?" "'Family-sized'? I don't see a--dang. That's tiny." "What kind of man looked at that serving and thought to stick a 'family-sized' label on it? What kind of family did this man have?" "My best guess? An anorexic daughter and his wife's urn."
  18. Granted! Your statement--"I wish this statement is false"--becomes false! Because the statement claiming that this is what you wish for is now false, this means that your mind is forcibly altered so that you no longer desire for your statement to be false, thus fulfilling the wish that you no longer wish. That makes sense, right? Whatever. I wish for a chocolate milk and a bag of Cheetos.
