  1. Just thought, after rereading my last post, I should probably clarify what the misunderstanding was. Ren set a cap of 8 (y) coins for the day (and yesterday they had 11. Cheapskate conductor). Orlok suggested we each bet 2. Four people, that's a total of 8 coins. As I said earlier, it states in the rules that we should be aiming for less than this number, but Ren has confirmed in the passenger car thread that it is up to and including 8 coins, so it's all good. It wasn't Orlok trying to cheat us, but my understanding of the rules that caused the problem.
  2. I already did something like this with the Stormspren that Syl keeps seeing... http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/23118-stormspren/
  3. Orlok. There has been clarification on the misunderstanding I spoke of in my earlier post in which I pointed the finger at Orlok. Now that this has been clarified, is nefarious plot isn't really nefarious, and the misunderstanding was my own, not Orlok's. Orlok, I believe you'll find that my bet has been changed back to two now that the confusion is sorted out. So, Alvron. Going back to my original vote.
  4. I know how you feel Burnt. I'm in the UK here, so most people are just getting on when I'm heading home for the evening. By the way, who was kicked off the caboose yesterday? I'm going to assume it was one of the five who voted for Vindication.
  5. Awww, it is. It's just like a baby chasmfiend. Or a cremling. One of the two.
  6. Dalinar acting with honour, and honour assisting him back. Or, when Kaladin and Bridge Four went to the Kholin army's rescue at the end of Way of Kings. For sheer imagery, the aftermath of that fight. Sadeas in his red Plate, Dalinar in his grey, with Oathbringer drove into the centra of the Justice glyph. Kaladin finally swearing the third ideal, and Moash filling his Shardplate. "Oh, that's right. You'll probably want me to be a spear instead." Kaladin flying over the shattered plains with the windspren. Practically anything Lopen is involved in. Practically anything Rock is involved in. The Whitespine Uncaged. The entire chapter. Oh, Storm it... The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance.
  7. Player List: Nine people down, and all passengers. Even if we win, can I just say 'well played' to the Coinshots. That's a damnation good result so far (for them, not us, I mean). That is a full half of the passengers dead, with no Coinshots accounted for. Vote tallies: So, yesterday we had 13 votes out of a possible 15. Symmer Ghetti and Nails were the ones that didn't vote. Any reason today? I have very little in the way of suspicions, although if I had to choose, I would have to go for either Alvron or Dowanx. Both of them have been a lot quieter than usual, keeping themselves minimally active so as not to draw the ire of those looking at inactives. Edit: Alvron. Orlok. Passenger car shenanigans. It is possible that this is a misunderstanding, but Orlok has suggested a betting strategy that will guarantee passengers lose their coins. The passenger car rules states that we can bet coins to have our bet doubled, but only if the total bet from all players is less than y. Today's y is 8, and Orlok is suggesting we all bet 2 coins. 8 is not less than 8, so we would all lose out. Well, all of us in the passenger car anyways. Edit 2: Zas, how was the passenger car broke yesterday? I assume by people overbetting so no-one got their coins? Do you have the numbers? And did anyone suggest 'each put two coins in' if y was 8, like Orlok did today?
  8. Ah, I see. Maybe not then, but don't worry, I'm sure they'll still be waiting when you get home. Wherever you are going, I hope you have fun and stay safe
  9. By the time Summer had returned and collected the additional books, Bortholemew was nowhere to be seen. The only trace of him that remained was a single strand of long, white, beard hair. Winter, sign up to Kasimir's game as Summer, if you want to join Bortholemew on his quest for the Shardmarks.
  10. My guess is that it is written by Nazh, or maybe his employer, Khriss. Failing that, my other thought is that they are written by one of the Listeners.
  11. Player List: Vote tallies: So, checking out the vote tallies, the first thing I noticed is that Phattemer had 5 votes, but 6 people voted for him. I'm going to assume that the extra person was whoever was kicked off the caboose last round. Anyone care to step forward? We had a total of 17 votes last night (including whoever was caboosed), so only one vote unaccounted for - Doctor McNinja. Now, he is a ninja, so it is entirely possible that he did place a vote, but his ninja skills masked it from all of us, so I'd like to ask Doctor McNinja, how come no vote?
  12. No, I can quite safely say that Bort's retraction of his vote on Gamma was indeed intentional. Given the outcome of the day, I do find it quite ironic that I specifically removed my vote from Gamma so he wouldn't be kicked from the caboose - I had poke voted him, as Clanky did with me, to get conversation rolling. When I noticed someone else put their vote on Gamma, I removed mine. Then Gamma voted for me, and got me kicked off.
  13. You couldn't make a beardnut. It's a secret recipe, and you aren't in the Knights Awkward to learn it. You must have made a nearbeardnut. Still, thank you for your offering I was thinking some more on Meta's plan, and I could only see it being feasible if we have someone going to the buffet car we really heavily suspect. Then we can use it to drain the suspect of all their coins (or some of them at least) before we move onto the actual lynch. It's a bit of an unnecessary step, since we could just lynch them anyways, but it would let us retain a few extra coins. Without heavy suspicion on someone though, the buffet car and Meta's plan could be used to screw over anyone.
  14. When was my first accidental vote on you? I hope you don't mean the Elantris thread, as I think we can both agree that that wasn't really accidental My vote last night was placed about 2 minutes before I went out, and it was almost completely random. I did look to see who besides Gamma was responsible for kicking me off the caboose, but they already had a vote (Clanky, I think it was), and I wanted to place a vote on someone who would not be lynched, so I tried to get someone who didn't already have a vote on them. I didn't spot yours, or I would have gone back to the player list to find another name.
  15. Agent Carter screened in the UK during the midseason break of Agents of SHIELD back in January (it was on Sky though, not a regular UK channel - possibly even the same channel as Agents of SHIELD), and Daredevil is on Netflix, not a regular TV station, so hasn't been broadcast anywhere, other than homes which have Netflix. You're not the first person to comment about Agent Carter though, quite a few of my friends missed seeing it too. I'm going to guess it wasn't very well advertised. Edit: Meant to add, Agent Carter was alright. I enjoyed it, but I didn't think it ranked with Agents of SHIELD. Daredevil, on the other hand, was brilliant, especially the series bad guy, and the way they incorporated sounds into what was happening. There were numerous fight scenes where I winced, not from the visuals, but from the sickening cracks and crunches that came with each blow.
  16. Also, classes. Why would anyone add classes into an Elder Scrolls game? Again, like the factions I mentioned above, it takes away the entire freeform nature of the single player games, and that was a lot of what made Skyrim great. Now you are limited as to what you can be, what you can do, where you can go without immediately dying. It sounds like they designed an MMO to attract MMO players into the Elder Scrolls universe, as opposed to the other way around and rewarding their loyal customers who played their single player games by giving them more of the same, but with allies, which is what I believe ESO should have been. For the same reason I was sorely disappointed by the Old Republic. When it was launched, it was WoW with lightsabers. Almost literally a copy and paste for some of the classes. The world was nice, and the story arcs were good, but it played in an identical way to WoW, and what could have been an awesome open rpg turned out to be just another clone. They could have (and should have) done so much more with the IP. I mean, it was Star Wars, for crying out loud. So many possibilities, all funneled into 'Kill 10 monsters' and a rail shooter.
  17. At station two, Meta immediately opened up with his 'great plan' idea in the buffet car (the plan that was shot down by Shallan (Not Seonid like I said yesterday, sorry Shallan)) and brought into the main thread by Adamir. Meta tried to defend his plan towards the end of the cycle, but I don't think anyone was particularly paying attention by then. So, for now, Meta. Mostly for suggesting a plan that would help the Coinshots more than the villagers, and then continuing to defend it when presented with a detailed and thorough analysis of the numbers which said that he was wrong. Edit: I quite like Gamma's suggestion of making a vote for yourself cost a coin.
  18. Honourblades require more stormlight to get the same affects as a bonded Sprenblade. Syl comments on it the first time Kaladin fights Szeth, then explains in more detail later on.
  19. I'm also of the opinion that books are better, mostly for a point already made by Kobold - Books force a reader to use their imagination, which in turn helps a person's creativity. TV and, to a lesser extent, games, present everything you need to see, hear, feel, and think. I say games to a lesser extent, because there is some part of games that requires a player to use their imagination "How do I solve problem X?"
  20. I played in the beta for ESO, and decided then and there that I wouldn't be buying it. I didn't like the way they took the totally open and free form characters and gameplay from the single player Elder Scrolls games, and funneled them off into Yet Another MMO. Sure, there were some things that made it sort of stand out - a skill system that wasn't just cloned from another game, for example. But limiting what faction you could be depending on your race was a huge mistake, I think.
  21. Oops, sorry Phattemer. I hadn't realised you had voted for yourself when I put my vote on your last cycle. I like Renegade's rule change. Voting for yourself, just to get a coin, doesn't help anyone. There are 18 of us left. Maybe four or five Coinshots. That doesn't really leave us much time to find them. Voting for yourself is probably the best way of slowing us down. Vote tallies: Edit: Finished the post. I count 19 votes at station one, and 18 at station two. This means there are a couple of people (although not too many) that aren't voting. Now, this might be because they are away for a few days - I recall seeing someone post that they were going away. Or, they may have just missed the cycle, but they could also be trying to hide. Station One, who didn't vote? Pooh with a name - He didn't even post a vote to try to save himself. Vindication, and Everton Slade. Everton Slade is Bridge Boy. I think I saw something from his saying he was away for a few days at the start of the game, so I assume that is why he didn't vote. Shallan, was there any reason you didn't vote in the first cycle? Bridge Boy, am I right here? If not, and you were here, how come you didn't vote? Station two. I count twenty voters, but only 18 votes. Penga, and The Silent Man were the ones that didn't vote. Silent Man is dead though, so no chance of finding out what caused him not to vote. I'm going to guess that Old Wolf was kicked from the caboose this cycle, as he voted for himself, but the vote didn't count. Can you confirm this please, Mr Wolf? Penga, how come you didn't vote yesterday?
