  1. Wheel of Time I definitely recommend you read at least once. As Vaidd said, it does slow down in the middle for a few books, but even those are busy setting things up for the grand finale. And believe me, when I say grand finale, I mean GRAND!
  2. Maxal, I have another Adolin theory for you. Adolin is a dueling master. One of Dalinar's visions suggested the idea of vexing Odium, stopping his plans and forcing him to choose a champion. Now, the question is, will he be chosen by Odium as his champion, or by Dalinar as the Radiants' champion?
  3. Current Name: Bortholemew the Blind Gender: Male Original (if any) name: Bortholemew Faction: The Knights Awkward Position: Forumlurker, Wordsmith, and seeker of the Shardmarks Backstory and History: When he was but a boy, Bortholemew was apprenticed to the local Wordsmith and gradually, over time, mastered his craft (although some would call it an art). A few centuries later, his master was killed in a bandit raid, leaving Bortholemew alone to continue their work. Unwilling to give up, Bortholemew realised that, should he fall, his master's quest for the fabled Shardmarks would go unfinished, so he visited the Nightwatcher, to request a boon and a curse. His boon was that he would be able to protect himself and his allies using Beardomancy, but his curse was that everyone he met would believe he was blind, even though he could see perfectly well. He took the name Bortholemew the Blind in respect of this. Since that day, Bortholemew has crossed multiple worlds thanks to his talents at Hairhopping, always seeking the next clue to the location to the Shardmarks. Powers: Beardomancy. Hairhopping. Bonded to a Beardspren named Luma. Weapon(s) of Choice: Beard-Fu Likes and Dislikes: Likes: Reading. The other Knights Awkward, Cooking. Having his beard stroked/brushed. Dislikes: Being shot at. Ignorant people. People who mess with the beard.
  4. There was a flash of light, concealed from most people by the fact that it appeared in an alleyway, and when is dissipated, a tiny person was standing there. He wore robes that were dusty from travel, and had an arm in a sling. He also had a beard that was long enough to trail on the floor behind him, and giant fluffy eyebrows that rose into the air above his shiny, bald head. He pulled a notebook from his beard and flipped through the pages until he found what he was looking for, a briefing on this location, what was happening at the moment, and finally, the clue he hoped would lead him to a Shardmark. Ah, here it was. The Rose Empire... Emperor dying (just once, Bortholemew the Blind would like to visit somewhere peaceful, in the middle of summer)...Factions about to battle it out to see who becomes Emperor next. That wasn't good news, as the clue Bortholemew was seeking was somewhere in the palace, and he would need the Emperor's blessing to reach it. If he hurried, he might be able to reach the old Emperor before he died, so, Bortholemew picked up his beard, and shuffled off in the direction of the palace. When he arrived, a guard singled him out, and asked him which faction he belonged to. When Bortholemew answered that he didn't belong to any, the guard led him away and shoved him into a room with a number of other 'neutrals', all waiting to be assigned to a faction. This was odd, Bortholemew though, although he could see one advantage. By bullying people into representing their faction, the leaders of those factions could keep their own, loyal people safer, using the 'recruits' as cannon fodder. Still, he had just been shot, so Bortholemew wasn't best pleased at being forced into playing this new game, but what other choice was there? If he wanted his quest to continue, he had to see this through.
  5. A flash of light interrupted everyone's reading, and a midget with lots of white hair and a really, really long beard appeared in the middle of the room and slid across the floor. Faint swearing could be heard from him by the people he slid past. Upon reaching the far wall, Bortington the Blind climbed to his feet and, with a look of determination (at least, it may have been determination, but his facial hair made it difficult to tell), he stormed back out of the building, muttering something about Cursed Coinshots.
  6. The way things are looking right now is that we are going to end up with a draw, so, I'm going to change my vote from Penga, and switch it to Jain. That will stop the randomness of who dies. He is another I've had suspicions about, mostly due to him being fairly quiet.
  7. I'm sure you meant to vote for me, seeing as how Bridge was killed last cycle. It's ok though. Old Wolf . I don't really think you are guilty. I was just curious if anyone else would try to bandwagon you. My vote this cycle will be for Jasonpenguin . It's rare that Eliminators won't bandwagon their own once the vote is decided , just to look innocent. Selecting someone to vote for based on them not voting for eliminators looks a bit dodgy.
  8. For station 5, I was in the passenger car with Peng, Orlok, and Zas. Both Orlok and Zas discussed betting in the passenger car, and how best to bet in a way that everyone got something out of it, so they are less likely to be CC, I think. Jasonpenguin, however, was completely silent.
  9. Aren't the roles supposed to be decided randomly? Either way, you are right, the Coinshots do deserve congratulations. I said as much the day Gamma was lynched, when we had a full half of the players dead, and still no Coinshots. Now there are nine people left, one or two Coinshots among them*. Say two kills per cycle - lynch and CC kill - plus one round with the assassin available. That only gives us 4 cycles left to find whoever is left. *Given the lack of seeker type abilities, I think there is probably just one left. Could easily be wrong though. Although, an utter lack of response in the PM thread does make me wonder. Alvron. Orlok. Jain, what about you? How come no response from you yet?
  10. Really, that should have read "Spoilers, Sweetie".
  11. I did, albeit indirectly.
  12. So, your quality timing was just coincidence? I don't believe you. You have barely been around for this game, from the car PMs I've seen, you post maybe once per day (and not really helpful posts either, if I'm being honest), yet you were able to select the one cycle you got attacked on to visit the vault car. No, I believe that, since Gamma had already been lynched, and since Neo was drawing suspicion, you staged an attack on yourself to build trust. There are not many people left, and it is a fair assumption to make that, if someone is attacked, then they are probably not CC. This late in the game, it is exactly the kind of move the Coinshots should be considering. I'll admit I'd like to know why Jain didn't vote too. Bridge has already explained. Personally, I believe Neo was the killer last night, which is why the kill didn't go through. Alvron. Either you are guilty and trying to frame yourself as innocent, or you're a passenger who has had too little time for this game. Given that you've managed to post at least once to defend yourself whenever you've been accused, I believe guilty.
  13. I'm not inactive, but my posts tend to be created while most of our players are asleep and by the time others start posting, it is late evening here and I'm rarely on that late. People were more enthusiastic (and there were more of them) at the start of the game so there was more communication. Some early enough for me to respond to. Now that isn't really the case. I'll be back in a bit to log my vote.
  14. But isn't that 'misunderstanding' true too, Winter? People have used religion to start many wars in our history.
  15. "We've got a date with destiny, and she's just ordered the lobster." - The Shoveller, Mystery Men.
  16. The Stormlight Archive tells you that being a slave is fine, because it will give you superpowers. Having an abusive family is fine, because you get superpowers.
  17. 3 hours before hand and 6-7 hours after the rollover. I'd not say either of those were 'relatively' close during a QF game. LG, sure, and MR, maybe, but a quick game, three hours can be a hell of a long time. Edit: Zas, forget what I said about the passenger car. I forgot to submit my bet in my personal game PM. I only did it in the passenger car thread, which means that my bet was never counted. So, the possibility of passenger car hijinks is still a possibility, it just wouldn't have looked that way because I hadn't placed a valid bet.
  18. So, I was just catching up on the Brandon Foreshadowing thread, and it put me in mind of the Flash. Flash S2 spoilers (ish) ahead. Read on at your own peril. So, some nice future shadows there, well played to the writers.
  19. Clanky, I was in bed and asleep some three hours before the cycle ended, and this is the first chance I've had to get back on since then, so you checking that everyone was on just before or just after the cycle change is obviously wrong. I'm in the wrong time zone to be awake for the roll over unless I'm willing to stay up until past 3am (it has happened before, but not on a weekday). Did it? I'm waiting for clarification from Renegade about the bet, but I started the last cycle with 10 coins, and now I have 12. I actually think there was a mistake made somewhere in Ren's calculations, as by my count, I should have either 10 or 14 coins now -> 10 -2 (bet) +1 (post) +1 (vote) + 0 or 4 depending on if the bet was successful or not. Vote analysis for this cycle. 13 voters, 12 votes. Gamma was the one who didn't vote. Since he's dead, not going to bother asking why not. Plus, he was Coinshot, so probably wouldn't have gotten much of an answer anyways. Either Zane, Penga, or Dow were roleblocked last cycle (which means it was Dow, as both Zas and Pang were in the passenger car). Which begs the question, why roleblock someone when you are about to kill them? Who else was in the caboose yesterday? Also, Alvron. I find the timing highly suspicious. You visit the vault car, just at the right moment to save your life? That, coupled with your relative inactivity, makes me wonder about you.
  20. I love how you still have him humming
  21. I've always imagined him as a sort of snowflake kaleidoscope, but I do like this one.
