We don't know 1. We don't even have any hints pointing us at it, that I know of. I seriously doubt that Cultivation/NW controls all bonding. Brandon describes Syl as "drawn" to Kaladin, not sent. And even Wyndle is sent by an organization that seems quite distinct from Cultivation.

'twould be uncouth to demand such details from Mr. Ookla, paperclip.

If you're interested in discussions about conjoiner orientation, we talked over it a bit quite awhile back, specifically in the (quite unnecessarily spoiled, in retrospect) "Mobility and Orientation" section and on for a bit in the rest of the thread. That was all before we knew how cheaty Cognitive stuff is, so you can probably get away with "how you intuitively think it should move" and call it a day.

What was the question? It's useful to know what he RAFO's.

Difference between Growth and ReGrowth
Kurkistan replied to Unknowingly's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ah...false. I'll go "false". -
No, he's still pretty unique under my modeling. The whole point with Forms is that there's nothing central to them, no defining "kernel" with definite qualities that must necessarily persist. Even if Kelsier is being affected by how others perceive/worship him, he's still Kelsier in the core of it all.

*Sees PM* 'Sup. I'm generally on board with that interpretation of Kelsier's continued presence. I don't think it overlaps specifically with any Formic theory because he's a singular entity rather than a cultural abstraction, though.

Difference between Growth and ReGrowth

Uh...true. I'll go 'true'. Huh, that was easy. I'll be honest, I might have heard that one before, though; sort of cheating. -
Thanks for the info; good to know Brandon wasn't giving out Realmatics textbooks or anything.

I think it likely that Regrowth could heal a shardblade wound (though not an eye-killing (i.e. soul-killing) one). We had a rather in-depth discussion of it on this thread. As to other things: I'm rather strongly inclined to say that it's only Spiritual damage, as Feruchemical gold can heal "severed" limbs and we have strong reason to believe that kind of healing is governed by Cognitive aspects. @cem I disagree on how Resealing likely works, but that's for a different day/thread.

Whatever would give you that ide-ide-ide-idea? -
So many oaths to record...

It is an art.

You mean "Feruchemist", I think. For everyone's benefit: we racked up quite a large number of questions on this thread, as well as this one. The questions about AonDor and chronic injuries, Full Lashings, and the anagram were answered in the threads in question.

Hemalurgy has always been shown to be devilishly complicated, and Brandon RAFO'ing the question suggests that he thought it was a valid question to be asking. If I had asked "Is Wax secretly a surgebinder?" or something else that was simply impossible given what the fandom has already been told in-book, Brandon would have just said no.

Brandon: RAFO.

Curses! A bunch of people who's taste I respect recommending a variety of anime I've never even heard of!? *Sigh* *Pulls out .txt of anime to watch in the future, adds on a few dozen entries*

@Pech A fair enough interpretation. Sorry if I read you too broadly, Darnam.

If there's a hard-and-fast rule that trumps our understanding of Realmatics, then either our understanding is wrong or we're interpreting the rule incorrectly. At no point will a rule just "trump" Realmatics, with no reasonable Realmatic explanation for its workings possible. The door is open about Chromium/Nicrosil in particular because our only source is the MAG, which is of dubious veracity. Also, I'm not sure on Chromium/Nicrosil being able to affect people by touching their clothes. It was a suggestion of possibility. I state in the "clothes and identity" thread that it only seems to matter for a few systems, namely some of those in the business of affecting entire objects (including people) as singular. Either way, it's without a doubt that your skin is more a part of you than your shirt: that might be all the threshold we need to look to for powers like C/N that go into you to mess with you on a pretty fundamental level. We might also want to consider a division between Cognitive and Spiritual definitions of the self as a possible divide: you're Spiritual aspect probably doesn't care what shirt you're wearing, for instance. Because he doesn't have magic, much less a magic that's that responsive to his Cognitive aspect? Not to mention that your Cognitive self is also affected by other's perceptions of you (and Forms, I'd say, but that's another discussion). It is by no means the case that "you can do literally anything by simply believing it".

Don't feel too bad for Allomantic gold, Claincy. If I'm right (and when aren't I? ), Augors can also Compound Feruchemical gold with a willing Feruchemical accomplice. Not that Kad's character is ever going to figure that one out, I don't think.

Hmmm...

Huh. Perhaps, though Brandon went to the lengths to be all (to paraphrase) "I don't want there to be Hoid because he's not just a cameo" when he told us that Hoid wouldn't be there to us.
-
Yes, I noticed. Sorry for not responding to you directly, Peter, but I thought that was a rather clear statement that "well, if Brandon doesn't even remember it, it probably isn't him being all ninja-sneaky and sneaking Hoid in under my nose". So Peter's reply is further evidence of Hoid's absence.

@Darnam Fair enough on the devil's-advocation. I just have some bad associations with quibbling over interpretations, so might have reacted a bit too strongly. As to aluminum's weirdness: All excellent questions. Also of note is that some think that "ralkalest" in TES might be aluminum. As to the sidenote: What do you mean? We are talking about the powers whenever we say "allomantic" or "feruchemical" aluminum (or Allomantic aluminum/Feruchemical aluminum, if you like): it's usually pretty clear when people are talking about the metal instead. Aside: Here's another aluminum quote backing up it's universal (at least on Scadrial) weirdness: Source:
