Ooh, good one. Probably RAFO bait, but it'd be nice to see an answer. One thing to note: Brandon doesn't really peruse here often, due to the time it would take, so anything he knows—if he knows much at all about our goings-on—is likely courtesy of/filtered through Peter.

Sorry about the illness. As to questions, we just now had a round proposed, so you'd probably do well to look at this thread (the only one Prnc ended up asking was the one about the anagrams, I believe). P.S. And thank you for the offer, of course.

Be aware that, at least usually, though the quote implies always, it's separate summoning. Source: -

Yup, it's WoB. Nice catch, as most people don't remember that little tidbit. -
Reactions to Ender's Game: The Movie

*Enters snob mode* So far as the "series" goes, I would suggest that you read Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead, and maybe some of the Shadow books (Ender's Shadow being my favorite by a long shot) and then stop. Things get much less good after Speaker... -
Perhaps a more accurate description would be when something is "causally set" or the like? So a rock rolling down a hill is as "set in stone" (pardon the pun) as the gun going off when David decides to pull the trigger, for instance.

Thank you for the offer, PrncRny. Now if only I had a massive lists of questions I carry around with me everywhere. Oh wait: I DO! Ahem. I dumped the whole thing because it might interest you to have a broad range of options, but here are a few of the "top contenders": Double ahem. That was longer than intended. Now here's the real top list: What is the Realmatic composition of Investiture? Is is primarily Spiritual, an even mix of Spiritual and Cognitive, or something else? Would a normal Scadrian seem like a drab to a Nalthian, and would a Scadrian be able to tell that someone was drab by "life sense"? -To be more specific, are Breaths "normal" parts of Nalthians (common to all humans in the Cosmere) which the magic system allows to be split off, or are they tacked on extra bits courtesy of Endowment, like the extra Preservation in Mistings? Are the laws of physics Spiritually-based in the Cosmere? Can AonDor heal chronic conditions, like poor eyesight? -If so, does it strictly require specialized Aon-drawing to work, or will enough Aon Ien's do the job eventually? How, exactly, does Hemalurgic decay work for Feruchemy? Do Inquisitors have a cap on how much they can store at a time, or do they "waste" Health when they store (so they'd be lying around at 80% health but only storing 10%, for instance), or do they draw it out less efficiently than real Feruchemists? --- Also, if you really want everyone to love you, would it be at all possible for you to get an audio recorder on the signing table with him? He's usually cool with it if you ask and say you're from the site, if I understand correctly. EDIT: I also like Sats' question quite a bit.

You're beliefs are quite possibly accurate, but it's always best to be sure and keep phrasing things as speculation, rather than fact. -
And the Catquisitors will reign triumphant!

Well this'll strain my memory...

I do like sharing pages. Note: I feel that the more likely cause of "savanthood" is holding large amounts of power, not necessarily just channeling it from the outside. I've presented both options because either is possible, but I find the first more likely. Given, that, onto the concerns: As to Concern the First: If holding power is all you need, you might be able to get away with normal Feruchemy, even for the non-cheating metals. So maybe a Wax that tried his hardest to surge together obscene amounts of weight as often as possible could get the job done. So you could become a Feruchemical savant without the need for compounding. As to Concern the Second: Eh. They're all "just" "pour on enough Investiture and stuff starts to break", to an extent—though Hemalurgy is a bit more focused/intentional, I suppose.

It's that time again! Time to start making lists of minor grammatical and/or typographical errors! I only saw one, myself: My Amazon U.S. Kindle version, bought the 3rd: Ch 1. (Page 20?) It has "Prof been acting weird lately", as opposed to "Prof had been acting weird lately," or perhaps "Prof'd been acting weird lately."

It matters whether it's the energy entering Miles that does the deed versus whether it's the energy simply being there. It depends how you interpret it when Brandon talked about Vin when she took in the mists: Was it the energy going through her that did the damage, or just it being there? I'm inclined to interpret it the second way. EDIT: To clarify why it matters before you think I'm too crazy, the first option argues somewhat against the possibility of Feruchemical savants/creations.

1. The Way of Kings -It's quite nice. Brandon keeps getting stronger and stronger as a writer, and this is the book that really let him stretch his legs. 2. Mistborn: The Final Empire -A head above the rest of the Mistborn books, in my opinion, and still one of my favorites. 3. The Emperor's Soul -Simply a thoroughly excellent work. The pacing is tight, the writing fluid, the characters and magic interesting... -
Yeeeaaano. It's an open question. The way I see it, there are two options with Miles: 1. He's a Feruchemical savant. The Health that he gains from compounding is fundamentally no different from the Health he stored himself, there's just a lot more of it, and it goes through his system the same way. 2. He's a Compounding savant. In this case, his compounded Health is doing something different than a large amount of previously-stored Health would do. Either it's unique in coming from "outside" or it's somehow of a different type (since the Investiture is coming from Sazed instead of Miles himself), or perhaps it runs through his body differently. Myself, I think the two biggest options for MIles being a "savant" work are the ones that involve the volume of the power being so very large. In that case, it's either because he's holding so much Health at the same time all the time or because that health is pouring in in massive quantities from the outside. I think it more likely that the mere holding of the Health does the trick, so in this case Miles is actually a "pure" Feruchemical savant who happened to achieve his savanthood by Compounding. Does that confuse the issue enough?

We know the surge is Atmospheric Pressure, actually. Fishing for the way it works. EDIT: @Windy That too, I guess.

Thanks for the facts, Shardlet. On that note, besides the fact that I like to claim the Forms are involved in everything, I think they might actually not be this time around. Brandon talks about "chemical signatures" and whatnot, not the kind of thing you really go about forming cultural abstractions about, so I don't think metal-purity is Formic in nature.
