  1. Moving the plate to other people really meshes with Adhesion and Gravitation. You can logically apply the same theory to the other orders.
  2. An archive of the wiki that's available for a time seems like the best solution for all parties, I'm a big fan of it. We haven't had any big cosmere content in a little while, so I think the demand for people to get refreshers on specific details is much more common.
  3. I was pretty bummed to see the entire site made useless to me until I finish the latest book. I was using it to refresh on details from Oathbringer. Having the entire site spoiler filled at nearly release day feels like it caters to beta readers, as they are likely the power users of the site. Which makes some sort of sense but ultimately it's frustrating for anyone trying to read on a post release schedule.
  4. I don't really have a specific book I want to point towards, but I am consistently impressed by his ability to describe just how real depression/grief feels. Just wondering if anyone shares the opinion.
  5. We have Wit's comments to Dalinar from before as well. Personally, I don't see Honor being reformed, and still being called Honor. Cultivation is still around, and directly influenced Dalinar to be able to summon Honor's Perpendicularity. Before he does that however, he gets his request from Cultivation fulfilled with forgiveness from Evi. I'm not sure what would change from Tanavast and Cultivation fighting Odium from before if they just sort of reboot the fight.
  6. Could the double murders be someone who is trying to cover up for Adolin? They could easily blame Sadeas' murder on whoever did the others.
  7. @Wreith Good points all around, I agree. I've spent little time talking with other Cosmere-fans, and there's a ton of WoB's and stuff that I need to catch up on. The Unmade are a fun mystery to unwrap. They are splinters of Odium, so I believe that would allow Brandon to say Odium doesn't do any of those things, right?
  8. Seems like Brandon was able to dodge answering the question we are thinking of, as his answer talked specifically about Odium directly controlling people the same way as Ruin. The magic systems of Roshar are different enough that it wouldn't technically be the "Same" thing. If Odium influences spren which influences people, then it is different but the end result can be quite similar. The apprehensive answer makes me a little suspicious still. Like, Brandon knows that Odium does something similar and was debating if saying no was a lie or not. Especially considering the question only says "written word". Seems like we don't really get anything more specific than that. There is some Oathbringer stuff that I'm thinking of now, but I'll have to put that in the other board.
  9. Re-reading Words of Radiance, and when Szeth attacks in the Castle/Palace the first time, Syl and Pattern both warned of Odium's actions, saying something bad is going to happen/he's coming. Syl and Pattern both seem to lose control of themselves as well. Szeth is attacking due to Taravangian being able to "See the Future" from the Nightwatcher's Boon/Bane. We know that Cultivation can see the future, but this absolutely suggestions that Odium is the one responsible for Taravangian's actions, who assumes he is saving the world. Would this be evidence to support Odium/Rayse corrupting things much like Ruin did in Mistborn? Did he corrupt something of Cultivation's to make it happen? Does Syl/Pattern's behavior support Odium corrupting/manipulating them?
  10. @The One Who Connects - I'd say that's pretty much a RAFO/non answer. A more accurate question would be whether or not Rayse survives into the second half. Rayse is the villain here, not so much Odium. Parallels to Mistborn are pretty clear here.
  11. Do we assume that Odium is defeated by book 5? I have a tough time picturing a 5-15 year long war with as much power as Odium as displayed.
  12. Important to note is that Adonalsium designed the Rosharan continent, and Brandon based it off of a specific mathemetic projection. The Origin brings Stormlight with it, so it could've been something Adonalsium created to do something with investiture. The second letter vaguely refers to Roshar (assuming Hoid wrote the first and it's talking to Hoid when he is on Roshar) as them being children playing in a workshop. Is there anything Adonalsium could've done to make such a storm system? Also, what does Shadesmar look like during a high storm?
  13. @Calderis Ah, I agree then. I recall Brandon referring to Adonalsium as a He, but that doesn't indicate a vessel. With the information at hand it easily could be either, but no vessel makes more sense to me. It's why Shattering Adonalsium might've been their own option, a vessel to direct the power could've given them options that were previously impossible. Is it assumed thats what the Bondsmith Spren are? Before Honor's cognitive Shadow combined with the Stormfather that is.
  14. We know that Adonalsium created Roshar, the continent, specifically. It is of his touch and design. (Second letter and WoB, saying he designed continent.). How would Adonalsium do that if he wasn't sentient?
  15. Violet is the color surrounding each of the ten "Orders" on that image. If the Spren were able to make connections to people in order to access those surges, independently of Honor, then it seems reasonable that the Spren could do the same but focused around the principles of Odium.
  16. If a shard created a splinter, couldn't Odium come and put just enough investiture to change the overall intent of the original into something hatred-themed? This would work best with shards that aren't inherently emotional, or emotions are easily mix with intense hatred. It's reasonable that Odium knows how this works, due to him not wanting to pick up other shards. He knows his advantage is in how flexible the concept of Hatred is, and likely why Rayse wanted it in the first place. Odium's #1 enemies would be shards that could reverse that effect in his absence, like Devotion or Honor. Just a random thought, but in order to shatter another Shard, it would require enough power from Odium that it would logically result in him having to recover over time.
  17. There are ten forces, surges, that exist in the world. Some real-world theories say there are six basic emotions, and through those six all emotions. Even a shard doesn't have infinite power, it takes time for it to be drawn out of the Spiritual Realm (example of Shardpools on Scadrial). Maybe it relates to how the shard is connected to those forces and/or emotions? Adonalsium's pieces were picked by people for a reason, it seems likely that they chose locations for a reason as well. If you were a piece of raw creation, what would you need? Going off of the Shards we know, I believe four could be categorized as "Emotion" and the others as more natural forces or concepts. If a shard only has access to specific types of forces, or only plentiful access to specific types, then the quantity of them would be a reoccurring event. Everything that shard does would be a mixture of those ingredients.
  18. removed.
  19. @jofwu - Thanks for removing that. I removed the entire section as it wasn't necessary. My apologies.

  21. Do you mind linking the WoB about Trell not being on Yolen?
  22. What would be the opposite-paired shard then? That does bring up the question if all of them even have opposites. Question about everyone assuming Bavadin. Has he done something like this before? Traveled to another planet to destroy a shard? Attacking other shards seems in character for Odium, but I'm not intimately familiar with Autonomy.
  23. We saw her using different powers after she was out of sight. It was never mentioned of her changing spikes though. The theory in other threads is that the other spike gave her the ability to speak to other people like Ruin, and immunity from Harmony. This would mean that she could change spikes willingly. Without knowing the power of that mysterious spike, its hard to say.
  24. I'm going to disagree with the fact that Sazed gave up the extra part of Ruin. Preservation created the prison, and why would Harmony not be able to simply recover it?
  25. I'm torn between a Rioter or a Slider. Speed-bubbles could have a ton of benefit to them. Especially with my tendency to procrastinate. But Rioting emotions seems like would have the largest benefit to my life. I don't think I'd like to type of person I would become if I could control other people's emotions.
