  1. Lessing or moreing- I of the thinking that the wasing of the proper speaking of the slang is not a thing of the needing.
  2. I would agree, except there's a difference between placing them on equal footing, and giving them equivalent equipment. As Roshar is a world with much higher levels of Investiture than Scadrial, then the same amount of equipment on a Knight Radiant is much more powerful than an equivalent amount of support behind an Inquisitor. Also, the other thing we've got to realize is that a Surgebinger would have little-to-no chance of actually understanding how or why an Inquisitor is capable of doing what it does. We have the benefit of understanding most of the magic systems very well, and so we know what an Inquisitor's weaknesses are, but a Surgebinder would have no idea about these. More importantly, if an Inquisitor has managed to world hop to Roshar, then there's one of two options for fuel for their magic. The first is the simplest, metal. The second is more interesting. If an Inquisitor on Roshar has figured out how to jury-rig Allomancy, then they've got nothing stopping them from using Stormlight like the Mists, as there's no influence of Preservation to stop Stormlight coming to them.
  3. I of the agreeing- wasing the slang of the street gangs and of the thieving crews, but Lord Mistborn wasing using of the language of his childhood for the speaking in government among the friends. Becoming of the language of law because it wasing the language of the Lord Mistborn. Wasing the thinking that the slang of the Roughs is the speaking of the new Koloss maybe?
  4. Wasing the needing the being of Mistborn. Using the Iron and the Steel together wasing for the turning of plates in the washing of water; using the Pewter for the washing the timing of the long; Tin for the using of the finding of dirt and grime.
  5. Buy and Buy. 1- The original Shardholders shattered Adonalsium to stabilize the universe. 2- Rayse had enough self-control to direct Odium to destroy other Shards; primarily to support his own power and authority, but also to ensure Adonalsium would never be reformed again. 3- Adonalsium was magically inert, entirely unable to act due to equal and opposite pairings of Shards, but the magic of Yolen was a side-effect, radiation if you will, coming off of the God Beyond.
  6. Oooh. I was trying to say that dragons may be directly Splinters of Adonalsium
  7. Sell. Cultivation is implied to not like Hoid, but I doubt she'd try outright to kill him. Wait- the Returned are Splinters of Adonalsium?
  8. Buy. Shallan's going to try soulcasting again at some point. Might as well be with the thing she failed with. Alright, I've got two. 1- Dragons will have some form of shapeshifting ability. [Evidence: Every world has some sort of shapeshifter. Scadrial has Kandra, Sel has Seons/Skaze, Nalthis has the Returned, and Roshar has the Parshendi and the Aimians.] 2- Dragons are Splinters of Adonalsium
  9. Things got rather heated when his parents used a spanreed to harass the headmaster until it became apparent that the application forms covered this sort of thing and they didn't have a leg to stand on. This is Hogwarts after all- danger and potential loss of life is as assured as the fact that the Defence against the Dark Arts professor will be replaced yearly due to being evil, incompetent, abusive, or shunned by the parents. By this point, the Scadrian exchange students had fairly neatly begun to assimilate themselves into the student body- skaa Allomancers sided with the mudbloods and halfbloods, noble Allomancers divided between the persecuted students and the elitists depending on their upbringing, and the Feruchemists generally all became Gryfindors or Ravenclaws, with small numbers among the Hufflepuffs. Compounders fit in where they could. Instead of resorting to dubious love potions or ineffective charms, students took to harassing Soothers and Rioters to attain the affections of the individual who had caught their attention. This quickly became an issue as ethical questions came up, but the most skilled among the Soothers and Rioters generally avoided any and all disciplinary action after a period of time, having developed their skills to the point where they possessed a remarkably subtle and controlled touch. The Weasly twins, of course, immediately capitalized on this. And then things really got... interesting, when the Elantrian exchange students arrived.
  10. The Hogwarts weapons ban was practically impossible to enforce on the Alethi students. It's one thing to take away a sword- it's another thing entirely when the person the sword belongs to can get it just about anywhere they go. They tried to enforce it at first by getting the Alethi to surrender the Shardblades and break the Nahel bond for the course of the school year, but their parents complained. There were also allegations of academic misconduct as the Alethi students demanded to have a female student scribe for them, read their textbooks, and in general perform all their academic requirements. The faculty reluctantly allowed it on the grounds of religious freedom, though their prejudice towards people with darker eyes and lighter hair had to be severely handled. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Pureblood supremacists students- in particular Slytherins -got along quite well with them.
  11. There's no way in Damnation that the wizarding world would be able to hide greatshells from the general public.
  12. Cool- I wonder if that's up on the wiki somewhere
  13. When you dream of the Cosmere. Not any adventures or anything, just the Cosmere, being there, living on different worlds. Roshar is NOT FUN PEOPLE! Weekly hypercanes are horrible.
  14. Uh, CabbageHead, did you just reference "Army of Darkness"? Because that's awesome.
  15. There's a hemalurgic bind point chart in the Mistborn Adventure Game? Dangerous knowledge, that.
  16. Death Eaters make more sense as Inquisitors is Voldemort is a Metalborn. Oh! Idea! Instead of Horcruxes. Voldemort uses a mixture of hemalurgy and feruchemy to store aspects of his consciousness- so if he ever dies, all his followers have to do is spike some poor sap. But if Dumbledore is an Elantrian, how does his power work so far away from Hogwarts? I think it would make more sense is Dumbledore was a Returned.
  17. The speaking is of the using for the now; wasing for the gangs and of the thieving crews. Making the wasing of the understanding of guards very difficult- wasing like pidgin or if the pirate's slang.
  18. I've wanted to use Scadrian symbols on Chemistry tests, just to see what the teacher would say.
  19. When you start using Scadrian metal symbols in Chemistry for your own notes- either Feruchemical of Allomantic depending on the context. Or, better yet, when you decide to learn the Alethi alphabet to take notes no one but a dedicated Sanderfan could read. Besides, it's up there on your list of fantasy languages to learn along with Dovah Speech, Tolkein Elvish, Dothraki, and Valyrian.
  20. When you spend your free time trying to figure out what would happen if two specific Aons were combined, then take the time to try and figure out every Aon combination and its effects.
  21. "The words! You must obey the words! The world will rise or fall according to them." - Veden Merchant, 24 Seconds Pre-Death. Special emphasis was placed on "words". (I want to see who figures this one out)
  22. "He of all worlds and none comes! Kingdoms rise and fall in his wake, his tongue seers the masses." - Alethi Ardent, 16 Seconds Pre-Death "Oh Almighty, the Everstorm comes and the Voidbringers with it! Listen- courage will bring a change, and those who know it will be free." - Bridgeman, 10 Seconds Pre-Death [Note: News of Highprince Dalinar's visions arrived on this day]
  23. What I think is quite remarkable is that Pattern accepts her 'hatred', and his eventual 'death' by her breaking her vows, as just a side-effect of getting the chance to learn about the world and help her grow. Pattern might not have much of his memory back yet, but he's a strong character in his own right.
  24. When your parents tell you that being heavily invested in these books is irrational, because they're just books, and you reply "Mistborn need not make sense."
