  1. Jim Butcher, Small Favors. I read both Proven Guilty and White Night yesterday, and they were really good, especially Proven Guilty.
  2. Join the Mistborn RP! You know you want to. Which is great, if you like the nobility, like anyone with sense should
  3. Because we need more forum games, wee! What song are you listening to right now? I'm listening to Ayumi Hamasaki - sending mail. This CD is really good.
  4. Great idea.
  5. I don't know enough about where you get those Pokemon in-game for me to create my six-pokemon team.
  6. Yeah, I think we've all been RAFO'd as to when the Prelude happens with respect to the rest of the cosmere.
  7. I would like to announce that Kerry (KChan) thinks my book's backstory--where I had discovered a "fatal flaw"--is awesome. So, uh, that's good, I guess? I thought it was way too complex (because I have a tendency to do that), but Kerry understood it, sleep deprived and on melatonin. And let me tell you, Kerry on melatonin is pretty sleep-drunk.
  8. Zas, I may have written somewhere that I didn't believe your division between Sliver and Splinter. Consider myself corrected, and thank you for the citation. Now I can direct quote it I did not agree with you on the principle that we knew nothing about world hoppers It also related to their supposed immortality, I think. I dunno, it was pretty wacky...
  9. Eh, you'd do that anyways
  10. Okay, I'll definitely include a list of known books in the cosmere. It'll probably be a mixture of both. The FAQ nature allows me to inject some sarcasm into the process, which is good, because technical writing (even about fiction) is really dull to write. It may get slightly ranty, as per my usual Sanderson theory posts, but I intend content to be as general and theoretical as possible. EDIT: I put in a subject on other planet hoppers.
  11. You'll get results "soon" and no earlier
  12. Okay people, it's time for me to stop monkeying. Everyone has asked for a guide to the cosmere, so I'm going to break down and finally write one. And I bet it's going to be a rather large guide, too. So, I'm posting this here to see what topics you want to see in it--collaborative outlining, essentially. I'm going to keep this as factual as possible, so there should be very minimal theories. However, there is one that I simply can't resist to tell you, because it is so illuminating to the cosmere. I might have told you before. It's not like it's a big secret. Anyways! Fact, not theory, will be the focus, and if there are theories, they will be marked as such. Other rules: Obviously, we can't discuss unpublished works, like Dragonsteel, so there won't be any information on it (except maybe certain publicly available sample chapters to Liar of Partinel...) that you can't get at the bookstore. Any info that is in published works or that Brandon has stated is fair game. Are you ready for a huge Chaos Theory? Of course you are, because I am always right [citation needed]. Outline: -The novels are connected? -Who is Hoid? -Hoid Appearances -Introduction to Shards --Solids, Liquids, and Gaseous forms -Weaknesses of Shards -Shardworlds and the Shards -Other Terminology --The Three Realms (Physical, Cognitive, Spiritual) ---Shadesmar --Focus --Invest --Shard, Splinter, Sliver --Adonalsium -So where did the Shards come from? -Hoid's origin story -Planet Hoppers That's my outline thus far. Anything else you want to see in a guide for newbies to the cosmere or as a general reference? Please, let me know.
  13. I'll just have to rant more.
  14. This is a very interesting interpretation. I like it. Of course, we don't really know what Shardblades are and how they are related to a given Shard, so it's hard to really say. But the fact that they say "Shards" makes me likely to espouse this theory.
  15. It'll do until I figure out a pithier way to say the profound thing that was there before. Yes, we went from philosophy to bad puns. Don't judge. I'd like to announce that I just finished easy quantum mechanics problems. I wasn't aware those existed...
  16. The one time you almost caught up with me, I hadn't posted in weeks. When I came back, I swear I posted like 40 times in a day.
  17. I'd like to announce that I really don't have time for moronic special relativity problems (as in, it can be better spent on Quantum Mechanics).
  18. You underestimate how much time I can slack off here.
  19. The interview WAS pretty magical. EDIT: In other words, I have no clue how to get one otherwise.
  20. with quantum mechanics
  21. You can always do Reading Excuses?
  22. I'm double posting, because this is an independent thought, and I like having more posts. I would like to announce the writing I wrote last week was crap, but I revised it today, and the writing group loved it. An excellent start to the beginning of this book.
  23. This. They should have at least hung a lantern on it.
  24. I am very secure in my present position
  25. ... I would like to announce you are all dorks.
