  1. Phew, after that amazing ending of Part Two, we need a little breather I think, so it's just interludes today, where Feather misses some very critical information! What a slacker... Unrelated, but fun fact: when Brandon refers to Words of Radiance is a trilogy, he's referring to the fact that in other markets where the book will be split, there are natural break points. The end of part two is one of them. Neat! Discuss this podcast here or in our Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance topic!
  2. Hahaha, that is wonderful. Words of Radiance spoilers for my next rank rant: I'm dead serious when I say that wasn't intentional (I thought a thousand Breath made this one a good rank for 1000), but wow, this is hilarious.
  3. He has indeed said a few times Hoid will be a major character in the final Mistborn trilogy.
  4. I didn't know atriums were something I could put in my stomach and burn Allomantically (Couldn't resist.)
  5. Word of Peter probably, and Word of Brandon (WoB). Also, of course, RAFO.
  6. I still think it is entirely irrelevant to try and make one gigantic grouping of it all. The other questions, however, like how to organize the Surges, are valid.
  7. This appears to be fixed? I have little idea on how that actually happened.
  8. I'm still very confused how we would even build a chart combining all three of those magic systems together, name or no name. We don't have enough information on Voidbinding or Old Magic to even do that. Seems... very very silly to me.
  9. This time on Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, we have a special treat: it's the end of Part Two. So you know what happens: on the first chapter, Feather forgot her new mic. Way to be. Don't worry, she fixes it. Then the amazingness of this part of the book. Look, you don't want to listen to me blab, you want to hear the sobs. And oh there are sobs. Let's get to it. "I'm having trouble... things." - FeatherWriter 2014 (Sydney Scroungers: 4) Discuss this podcast here or in our Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance topic!
  10. Hey, those Oldbloods used to rule Alethkar... Poor Pahn Kahl, just above Awakened Object. Bluefingers would be pissed. Now if I used unpublished things, that would just be trolling Someday... But look at me. I was a Highprince, and now I'm Truthless? Apparently my leadership skills were not up to snuff.
  11. Knight Radiant is definitely in the system. It should be telling what the new reputation cap is, that Brandon is not at Adonalsium level. It's tough to order these in some semblance of order. Generally I rated magic users and more esoteric terms higher than more common terms like Gyorn. I don't think everyone could be totally pleased by the order, though. Everyone will have different ideas of what things should be rated higher. I'd suggest to just enjoy the ridiculousness and imagine you, as a 17th Sharder, progressively gaining all of these titles Also Ffnord. You're insane for doing that, but good job. I've fixed the Top Reputation thing so it links to members properly, and also it now displays the top 50 people there.
  12. I am pleased to announce that there's an entirely new set of reputation titles. Check out under your name to the left of your post and see what title you are--I imagine it will be very different. Why did the ranks get altered? Well, I hadn't ever really expected people to rise through the ranks so fast. Obviously this site isn't going anywhere, and five years down the line, it wouldn't make sense for all of us to be Adonalsium, now would it? So this new scheme was designed to be much more sustainable for years to come. It's also designed to have a ton more progression than the old system. In the old scheme, you became Shard at 128, and then new ranks appeared at 256, 512, and 1024. Not so much progression. Considering how many people are in the 1-500 range, there needed to be a lot more ranks. And boy, there are a lot of new ranks. In the old scheme we had less than 20 ranks total. In this new system, there are 102 positive reputation levels. There's also no exponential growth on new ranks--it's much more linear, with the differences between levels gradually increasing. I hope you find the new system fun! There are a lot of very powerful and cool titles now, but there are also delightfully obscure cosmere titles, and some that are just plain silly. Hehehe. And of course, now with a properly large list of ranks, it's time to complain about their ridiculousness. Some of the promotions are... interesting, to say the least. Discuss yours in the These Stupid Ranks topic.
  13. In the time honored tradition of TWG's Stupid Titles thread (yes, TWG is back!) and the fact that our rep system is now overhauled, there are all sorts of dumb and exciting promotions that you can have! So, what is your current rank? Plus, I'm sure more than a few of you want to figure out which rank is what. Good luck with that My favorite--and totally coincidental, I swear--person's rank is Peter, at the rank of Rambleman. Okay, it wasn't entirely coincidental, but once I happened to assign Rambleman to that place and I noticed Peter there... well, I couldn't resist. I'm so sorry. Kind of.
  14. Hey guys, I've finally fixed the TWG archive. It should now be working. You can find it, as always, at http://twg.17thshard.com. I've also added it into the Links tab up top, as it always should have been, but it wasn't working. Let me know if you have any issues with it (You should be able to view, but not post). Promise I'll fix them sooner than never next time Sorry it has taken so long!
  15. You have no idea how much I want to downvote that
  16. It's all Feather's fault for not editing faster! (Well, it's kind of my fault, but shhhhh)
  17. I died laughing from the Out of Excuses one and the Mistborn one.
  18. QUICK BEFORE KURKISTAN GETS THERE!
  19. Double post! Wee. I am basically done with the planning for this, so expect this update to happen this weekend at the latest. I am quite amused by the title Peter (totally unintentionally) will get under this...
  20. The boots segment is one of my favorite moments in the book, who wouldn't love it!
  21. In this episode of Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, there's footwear involved. "Is this a Shattered Plains patrol?" Yes, Alyx, yes it is... Hilarity ensues. There's linguistics, pronunciations, and more! Much stanzas. Very Verses. Wow. This is Splintercast. (Today's Scrounger count: 1. Much surprise.) Discuss this podcast here or in our Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance topic!
  22. From what I understand, there is something very deep happening with the ethnicities on Roshar. The way hair color is passed down on Roshar is not a genetic thing; it is completely different. The only other example about hair color is the Divine Locks. Interesting that they are so related... What the heck with Hoid and Braize. I don't know why that's so significant, but that is so significant.
  23. His name is unknown right now. He is from Yolen, so I'm of the opinion we have never met him on-screen. I still think the Second Letter is the best name for this I don't think we should give them fancy names, personally.
  24. Welcome, PrinceCartel! I'm glad you've found us, and I hope you like it here Let me know if I can help at all.
  25. Well, that's crazy and insane. So many implications...
