BREAKING NEWS: A Memory of Light to be Split Again

Wheel of Time fans will be disappointed to learn that the final installment of the series, A Memory of Light, has been split. Again. Brandon Sanderson confirmed in a recent exclusive interview with 17th Shard that the final book has been split into another three volumes, bringing the total number in the series to sixteen. There has been a significant amount of speculation on the part of 17th Shard regarding the use of this number, and rumors have risen that The Wheel of Time may, indeed, have been incorporated into the Cosmere.

He appeared excited about the decision in the interview, though he apologized for the delay and assured us that he hopes to have the series completed by early 2020. In the meantime, progress on his other works will also be slowed, though he promised us that the second Stormlight Archive book will most likely hit store shelves before 2015.

That is, unfortunately, all the information we have at the moment, but we will keep you updated as more details become known.

In other news, Shivertongue falls for his second April Fools prank of the day due to extreme tiredness and not going to bed when he should have. When asked for comment, the sleep admin said, "At least I wasn't RickRoll'd with this one."

This would have been the most cruel April Fools joke ever, had I not just been thinking about the day.

Here's the thing, the words did come from Brandon's mouth.

What we had planned to do for our april fool's joke was announce that Brandon had gotten into a car accident and we weren't sure if he was going to make it. He deemed that too cruel. *shrug* It was shortly after he told us about the split.

still, a proper 'fake' interview would've been even better :D

George R. R. Martin did the same joke with A Dance with Dragons. I guess great authors of properly long fantasies think along the same lines.

yes! This totally needs the follow up interview!

I believed it when I read the headline but the article was not very convincing but I don't think it was meant to be. I totally would have bought the car crash story though, that would have been to cruel to make up.

What, you didn't see the interview? Guess they didn't put it in the article.

I groaned aloud when I started reading. Even after getting hit a couple of times today, it still took me a bit to figure it out.

To be honest, I kind of wish they'd split A Memory of Light in half just for the satisfaction of being able to split the series into trilogies.

I agree. B) Maybe Brandon could publish it in three books published at the same time, then we cold have 16 books and not have to wait....but the WoT fans that aren't into Brandon's personal works would probably be annoyed. B)
