  9. naturally, if you were to look at my past on the shard, the way I talked was... kinda so different that it feels fake we see how different I am now. we all change over time. we become different, as our experiences shape us. people will miss the old you, so cherish her. but do not attempt to replace the current person you are with nostalgia of the past

  13. Ever heard of stream-of-conciousness style writing? I think you'd be very good at that. I'm happy you're doing better. One thing I'd like to address: "How can I think, How can I speak, When I question everything? I constantly double-check, I continuously re-assess." To this, I'd like to share a small bit of writing. I don't do this often, but here it is: "To act? What does it mean “to act well?” To make good decisions? To act on instinct is folly. To act on volition is folly. For instinct is by nature flawed, And volition is by bias flawed. “To act well”, is to act minimally, is it not? “To despise”; Each act of despicableness is perceived by a thousand eyes. “To act”, is to be a fool. “To act well”, is to avoid doing so. But I ask you, who does this benefit?" Something I wrote when I was a bit younger. I was typing my immediate thought processes, so it isn't very coherent. To elaborate: Double-checking, reassessing, etc. all of your actions, thoughts and such: This is analysis paralysis. It's always good to keep a close eye on your views. Ensure that you let them change. But you need a balance, I think. As the above points out: It's impossible to make an objectively "good" decision. The alternative is to do nothing at all. Are you willing to do that? Strip away your ability to act and change things, take away your own humanity, for the purpose of consistency? Make your mistakes. Look back at them, and never regret. Live with the knowledge that whatever decision you made, was one made by you and because of you. Funnily enough, in my opinion there is little worse than not being able to take responsibility for a decision. Because that means YOU weren't really the one acting. Another, in one way or another, forced your hand. Who's life are you to live, if not your own?

  18. Do physical objects have wraiths? Is that what the ruby is bonded to? When it says that the ruby can fully destroy a Wraith, something not even the great souls have accomplished even though they don’t have a Wraith anymore, is that a mistake? Whats so important about splitting a soul? It was kinda confusing. Final question, when can I read the book?

  24. You're welcome So lets say that I download a documentary over the Tor network. The documentary is 45GB, that information has to go through each of the nodes before it reaches my computer. So if someone such as the NSA or another government organization in another country has the ability to watch global or near global internet traffic, they can see that this website sent out 45GB worth of data, at say 3:26PM. They can also see that my ISP sent 45GB worth of data to me at the same time. Now for most users the amount of data moving is small and will blend in with everyone else's. However if you're doing something like downloading a three hour documentary your government is suppressing because it exposes a politician's corruption, if they are paying close attention you might stand out.

  25. I will point out that many times, free third-party vpns (third-party as in not associated with official/big business) are actually a significant danger to personal information leakage. remember, if the product is free, you are the product and this can take a few forms but if they’re a larger company usually this means that using their free services makes you more likely to use their paid services

  33. Ah, I see. There is another. Mozilla VPN($59.88/yr) https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/products/vpn/ And a built in Firefox VPN(free) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/built-in-vpn Looks like the built in one is free, but it's just for the browser, not your entire computer, though they claim to not log your traffic other than the amount of data used and if a connection was successful or not, not the actual sites you visit. That'd probably work just fine for you.

  34. Okay, I got a little more information. Looking into it Mozilla VPN is a fork of Mullvad VPN https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/products/vpn/resource-center/vpn-servers-around-the-world/ Which is funny because the Mullvad Browser is a fork of the Firefox Brower, so the two of them are doing the spiderman meme The differences are slight but interesting. Mozilla VPN offers a cheaper yearly subscription than Mullvad's monthy subscription does, and comes with some interesting features if you use the Firefox browser, such as allowing you to use different servers for each tab. Mullvad VPN doesn't require an email to sign up and allows anonymous payment via cash or crypto, however Mozilla VPN according to some sources I've found is a bit more user friendly, though Mullvad has a greater server selection. I'd say that ultimately which one is better is up to individual preferences, though which browser you want to use Mullvad or Firefox is probably a good way to pick between the two of them, though any of the other VPN services will work.
