More scarily, could he connect someone who isn't a channeler to the Source?

That one might be harder and be more dependent on specific mechanical things. I would assume that in order to connect someone to the Source, he would need to have some way of interacting with it himself. Can't connect someone to something that he can't reach. It would be like trying to connect someone directly to a Shard that's hundreds of light-years away. I don't even think Ishar could pull that.

That being said, if he can transfer one person's Connection to another, he could transfer a Channelers connection to the Source into himself. That would be a more realistic method.

Well, he wins a 1v1 on speedblitzing. But that doesn't make him more 'powerful' than Rand. Rand killed an entire Trolloc army, so I'd still say he's got more power, even if he loses a 1v1.

What do you mean by "powerful"? Besides, unless if you're referring to some different battle, Rand only destroyed the army because he was directly being powered by the Eye of the World, which hardly counts.

You're forgetting about the time Rand first uses the Deathgates

Overall ability to inflict and receive damage. Taln can kills dozens of Fused, Rand tens of thousands of Trollocs. It's a bad matchup for Rand due to Taln's speed, but his power to effect the outcome of a battle is far higher.

I was referring to the battle at Maradon.

He had a bunch of Asha'man with him then.

Ah, but in my opinion a Fused is roughly on the same level as a Myddraal or a little below, and remember Taln did that with his HANDS. No Deathgates or fireballs or other Asha'man to support him.

Including Logain, but I think it is mentioned that Lews Therin actually takes control of Saidin for this fight so, who knows how much of that was actually Rand.

Rand has no support at Maradon (I’m not talking about the manor house) and killed tens of thousands. Even with his Blade, Taln can’t match that.

Sure, but in melee, Taln can speedblitz Rand. Which is his primary weakness.

The subject isn’t who would win a duel though. It’s about who’s stronger.

True. Rand in sheer power outdoes the heralds. He can definitely draw more saidin than they can Stormlight. Although without the Choedan Kal it may be closer than expected - We’ve never really seen Heralds in action before the Breaking of the Oathpact.
