Okay, re-reading RoW and I am just curious how many other people like Design as much as me.

Design was, ok, but I was not overly impressed my her.

Much-needed comedy relief.  Without funny characters like Design, Pattern (all the Cryptics, really), the Lopen/Rua, Nightblood, and Lift/Wyndle, this series would be WAY too heavy for me. The unrelenting darkness of Kaladin, Dalinar's and Shallan's past, and the looming end of the world would be too much and I would not be enjoying it nearly so much.  Characters who know how to laugh, and at whom we can laugh, are absolutely necessary to remind both protagonists and readers that laughter itself is worth fighting for.

I was surprised how much design sounded like Elokar! I think they would have gotten along famously.

I thought Design was great. It was good to have a character who can push back on what Wit says, and their dynamic is really fun. He can’t pull off a comedy duo act by himself!
