Aliénor noticed the king scowling at her. Inwardly, she winced. "My lord? Is there something... wrong?"

Ivian, with some effort, softened his gaze. "Nothing."

Yes I would love it if you joined. I have some ideas if you want but otherwise join...

I’ve been trying to come up with a name for the kids and teens in the woods for two weeks, but I’m clueless. Any Ideas?

Just have one for each letter of the alphabet. Which letter should I take?

Jassir listened intently, and tried to catch a glimpse of the author’s name, so he could see more books like it.

Sandon Branderson.

“Tell me,” he asked the King’s Lady. “Is there a Jester in this story?”

"No, but the author has this one series called the Rainlight Archives, and there is a jester known as the king's Wit. He has some lines in there that are golden. My favorite is probably 'Yes, yes. Aim for the sun. That way if you miss, at least your arrow will fall far away, and the person it kills will likely be someone you don't know.' Then there are others like, 'testing the limits of human stupidity? How very empirical of you!' His lines are marvelous! And he just so happens to be in this book for about 5 seconds! He doesn't say anything, however."

I need Mist to take pictures. The printer (and therefore scanner) isn't working.

"Then perhaps you could begin to introduce the members of the court to me?"

Ivian growled to himself. "Fine."

"Of course, if it's not too much trouble. Who's that stomping toward us?"

"That's General Cadon," Ivian said. "I... have no clue what he wants."

Okay, here you go. I'll probably post a better version in an album once the scanner's fixed.

"He got into a fight with who I'm assuming is your jester over a table."

If you couldn't tell, she's wearing a tiara.

But that's not her current dress, that's a different one I decided to draw.

"Were it my father's court, I would assume he had come to complain..." Aliénor said cautiously.

Character time!

Spoiler

Name: Denton Anda

Age: 17, Height: 5’8”

Role: Servant

Personality: Denton’s clumsy, both literally and that he tends to stumble into and out of sticky situations. He’s softspoken, yet well-respected by those who know him. He likes to avoid confrontation, but when he can’t avoid it, it’s time to watch out. Despite his clumsiness, he’s quite good at sleight of hand tricks.

Backstory: Denton was orphaned at a young age when all of a sudden, his parents up and left. They left him nothing but a note—in a language lost to time—and a simple, fedora style hat, which he wears constantly. Instead of going to a traditional orphanage, he was raised in the servant life, trained to carry a platter and clean a table; though due to his clumsiness, they rarely let him carry the platters anymore. On several occasions, he’s made deals and had conversations with rich visitors who might help him find his parents and translate the note, but to no avail. Unexplainable things keep happening to him, and he’s determined to find out why.

Caden made his way to the King's table and sat down in his typical spot, still mask-less and looking incredibly frustrated. His only acknowledgement of the King was a short and curt bow of his head.

Heh, I can't draw. Guess my characters shall stay ever perfect in my head. Although you are quite skilled Condensation.

Also, I thought it had been established that Caden is the King's go-to for anything military, so I figured that he would be included at the King's table. I can retcon this if you don't like it Fadran.

I mean, I do take commissions. Although I prefer to draw females. Thank you!

SINCE WHEN DID YOU TAKE COMMISSIONS?

Since forever, I just don't make a big deal of it. Koloss17 asked for a new pfp that I'm working on, it's a little more difficult than my usual fare. I've got plenty of time, though. My teachers don't mind me drawing during class.

That's good, I didn't want to just throw him in.

Caden's hands were clenched together, with his chin resting on them as he watched the room with a scowl. While only sparing a glance at the betrothed of the king, he talked as he continued to watch the dancing floor. "Did you want to hear the report of my actions now or later sire?"

Caden nodded, "the traitor was where we were told. I caught him as he was trying to flee like the coward he was. I made sure to kill him and all who stood with him; although as I took action, the entire settlement rose up in defiance, so I slew them all. Very few escaped, but they should be too scattered to do anything. If they show their faces again, I'll be sure to finish them all off for good." Caden stopped for a brief second, "there is . . . something else."

Does that mean he wants her to follow? I'm not nearly as experienced in court politicking as she is.
