"No." Ivian stood. "You know full well that I can take care of myself."

Ivian shrugged. "For when I'm too busy to get up and make my own tea, I suppose."

"That's..." Nico shook his head. "Alright, I suppose. You're sure you don't have anything more for me to do?"

"I'll be in my study for most of today. If I need you, I'll send a guard."

"Aright." Nico walked out of the room awkwardly, wringing his hands.

Nico wandered down to the kitchens to get his own breakfast. As he was cracking eggs, he caught a glimpse of Wendy and cringed. Hide! was his first immediate thought. But he steeled himself. She was just a girl. He could handle a girl.

Nico found himself glaring. When he looked down, his eggs were burning and he yelped, scraping what he could salvage from the pan.

"Your 'friend' decided to come visit me last night." Wendy said.

"Oh, yeah? What did he say?"  Nico sneered.

Wendy glanced between him and the girls. "He seems to think that he gets to decide who your friends are."

"He doesn't. He's always been that way though. Thinks he can take on the world and get away with anything."

"Where'd you make a friend like that?"

"Does it matter? He has a pure heart, at least."

Wendy balled her hands into fists. "So are we going to pretend like last night didn't happen or what?"
