"I do what I am asked! Not out of any malice!"

3 minutes ago, The Ward's Guard said:

Fischer winced, the shouting catching him off guard. "I just want to be sure all tha' doesn't happen to ya again." He tried desperately to keep his voice even, and avoid shouting at Nico.

"Oi can take care of me-self. I don' need you anymore."

"I am what my mother made me, stars curse it, I was trained to be this way. But even I found love and you, Ivian, have no one."
--------
"Wendy, this ain't yer buisness." Nico kept his gaze on Fischer's, glaring.

Feign anger.

Ivian clenched his hands into fists. "However you were raised, Thadel, does not change your actions. Evil actions must be punished, no matter their origin. So I suggest you run back to Caden and find a new job instead of tempting an agonizing death."

"Yes it is." She growled, stepping out from behind Nico. "Whether or not I'm who this soldier says I am is my business, not yours."

"Fine," she spat. She shook her head. "If you hadn't given me my husband, I would find a way to kill you. Consider yourself lucky."
----------
Nico took Wendy's shoulders and pulled her into a deep kiss. Afterwards, he pulled away and glared at Fischer. "My choice," he said. "Mine." With that, he walked off.

Guard has work now BTW. He'll be back in like three and a half hours.

The moment Nicolae got to his room, he screeched and punched a wall. Knuckles split, blood running down the back of Nico's fingers. Stupid Fischer, he thought. I don't need him. He started pacing around his room, but tripped on his large feet, cursing loudly. Why was he such a blazing klutz? Stars, he couldn't get a thing right. He was the scum of the universe.

My choice. Mine.

His eyes fell on his bed and memories of being all tangled up with Allivia assaulted him full force. How had he ever allowed that to happen? Being so cowed by her that he let her treat him like that. Never again. Never again.

Does Wendy not realize how much Nicolae didn't care back there? How, by kissing her, he was using her just to make a point? Or the fact that he admitted he was in love with a man?

Currently she's very confused.

Wendy closed the door to the waitresses' quarters, still completely numb. No thoughts ran through her head, no emotions rushed through her heart; currently she was stone cold and completely empty.

Should she be ecstatic or angry? Terrified or euphoric? Why couldn't she tell?

Katie and Arabella were in her bed, cuddled up to each other for warmth. Apparently it was late enough that not even they could stay up this long. Wendy draped a blanket over them and took Ingrid's bed instead: the only open spot in the quarters. She pulled the covers over her face, trying to block out all the light and fall asleep.

Maybe she could feel again in the morning.

Fischer stood frozen from where Nico had left him, disbelieving of what he had seen. The immediate instinct that was the sharp blade of his anger seemed dulled as the man he had fought countless battles for simply walked away. All he could do was force himself to take a seat while waiting on the Ravenness.

It was impossible to link his image of Nicolae, the poor, innocent boy who needed rescuing from the evil Allivia with the man who had just shouted at him for trying to help. He found himself clenching his fists as he gripped his pants simply thinking of how that idiot had blown up over Fischer asking a few simple questions. He supposed that Nico might be able to take care of himself, but it couldn't hurt to be too careful, that blazing idiot.

Having not seen Riva return yet, he stood up. He  had to talk with Nico's "girlfriend," he had to be sure to straighten out what her relationship was with Nico. He refused to let another Allivia take his friend.

With his mind made up, he left for the servant's quarters to find this "Wendy."

Riva angrily walked back to Fischer in the room where they’d all convened. “Fischer!” she hissed. “We’re going home!”

Please note that this occurs after/during Fischer’s conversation with Wendy.

"I'm not at liberty to discuss that, but I can say that she's not in trouble." Fischer told the waitress just as he clasped his hands behind his back, holding his head up high despite his short stature.

"That business is private to the Guard and Wendy. If you want to know so badly, then I could brief you in a cell where you would be forced to stay until the situation is resolved."
