"And I can go past twenty meters, then?"

"Rust I had forgotten about that. I'm following you"

Marie scowled. She'd been hoping to start Steelpushing out of range the instant Adilie authorized it. When Adilie came down the stairs, Marie darted out the door, scanning the surroundings.

Adilie tryed to stay hidden, it would be better if whoever had shot didn't know she was near

Marie started heading down the stairs when she heard the ground crumbling. A few feet from the door, she abruptly stopped moving. Annoyance crinkled her brow for a second, then she turned again and yelled up, "The front door's wide open..."

Kelsier emerged from the cellar, brushing stray bits of dirt from his blond hair. “Ene’s following the shooter,” he told Marie, stepping up behind her. “Hopefully he’ll lead us to his boss. The arsonist is already dead.” He paused, then added, “oh, and the fire’s out.”

Every time you say Ene I blink lol

My apologies for my Inquisitor child, she has no manners. :D

"Have your spirit thing tell you which direction we should go in," Marie demanded.

Ladashwy nodded. She was going to follow Marie. "If I find Meens," she said, frustrated. "I am going to punch him as hard as I can in the face." He was the only person she absolutely loathed.

"Spirit thing?"

"That'll hurt you as much as it does him," Marie told her, smiling faintly. "People never expect their first punch to be so hard on the knuckles. If you want to do some real damage without a weapon, point your toes, go for the groin. People don't watch the legs as much."

He shrugged, then soared into the air Pushing on the trace metals. He could see the man fleeing on a horse now and ... was there a Connection there? He often tapped a general Connection to his followers and he could feel that now tying him to the people in the town - and the man fleeing it.

So much the better.

He stored the Connection, then compounded it. Like the string in the maze of Ishathon, it would lead him to where he needed to go.

He landed beside Marie, pointing. “That way. But we shouldn’t get too close; we want the man he answers to.”

She grinned at Marie. "Thank you for the suggestion. I'll be sure to do that."

If Twice were there... "And you've got lots of experience with that, don't you?"

Just be glad he's not there.

Omi, you have officially moved past 'noticing you're gone' territory

"Yes, yes, most hand-to-hand combat does work well against women." Marie eyed the way the Survivor pointed. "Why not just go after him and get him to tell us where Meens is?"

He nodded. “Ganache,” he said, speaking in her own language to avoid upsetting Zola further, “there’s smoke in the building. I’ll go take care of it, but be ready in case you need to leave.”

Eryn nodded, abruptly alert. “I will be.” She turned to Zola. “Do not be afraid, child. Sovereign take care of fire. Drink chocolate, now.”

"What'd he say?" Zola took another sip.

"He could lie." Ladashwy pointed out.

“Although not as well,” Kelsier noted. “You want to aim higher, try to reach the solar plexus.”

”Too easy?” He shrugged. “Besides, I seem to recall telling you that I’m not fond of forcing people to obey me. Particularly when they’re going to do what I want on their own.”

You said "Just be glad he's not there." so I thought you thought there'd be a problem if he said that

"You don't need to be involved if you don't want to. I didn't much intend to share." She shook her head at Ladashwy and Adilie. "People rarely lie if you question them right."

Ah, no, sorry, that was my (Or rather, Twice's) implicating that usually people don't like to be told that they kick a lot of women in the groin.

She shrugged. "Are we going to go and find Meens now?" She said, a bit impatiently. I think this sort of thing is why I don't fit in back home...
