She started snickering. That image though. "Thank you for that hilarious mental image." She said with a grin. "But no. If I thought they'd go into a anaphylaxis however, that would be a different story. And with all of the myths, it sounds more like an anaphylactic shock thing than a Celiac thing." She said.

Quote According to my research, the idea of garlic warding off vampires originated with some disease that kinda made people look pale-ish, and carried with it some intolerance to high-sulphur foods that include garlic.

Don't go wearing garlic around your neck or anything, I could care less." Quote Not the best source, considering it's from a "Garlic Festival" (those are a thing??), but it'll have to do. https://torontogarlicfestival.ca/vampires-hate-garlic/ Spoiler A persistent belief is the power of garlic is to ward off vampires. Probably the most popular theory of the origin of the vampire is the disease porphyria, a term for several diseases which are all caused by irregularities in the production of heme, a chemical in blood. Some forms of this disease cause sufferers to be sensitive to light and leads to disfigurement of the skin, including erosion of the lips and gums. These factors could have led to the corpse-like, fanged appearance that we associate with vampires and their dislike of sunlight. Interestingly, people who suffer from porphyria also have an intolerance to foods that have a high sulphur content…such as garlic.
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 Quote Wait did I kill the lion or are we still technically doing that?
Knight of Iron she/they Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 Just now, Channelknight Fadran said: Quote Oh, Cassander (which was his name btw, I checked) scared it off and it ran away. It's not used to facing things that could actually kill it, so it ran.
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 Quote Right! So... Cassander reentered the room. "I have dispelled the beast. What next?" He looked at the newcomer. "And who are you?"

Channelknight Fadran Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 "Ah! I see." Cassander held out his hand. "Do you, by chance, give in to the nightly visceral desire to consume the flesh and blood of other creatures?"

Could you hypothetically use other fluids, such as spinal fluid or lymph, to sustain yourself?" She asked curiously. "If so, what other things can you live off of?" She was a bit eager to learn this.

"But, he said that Costco's are evil, and we should instead go to IKEA." She said, pointing at Cassander. "However, before we do that, I say we go to a library, and take books on agriculture, electricity, and stuff like that. That way, we can know what to do if we run out of food, or need power."
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 "Libraries are usually safe," Cassander said, "but we must be cautious. There's no telling when a sphinx could become corrupted; and wherever you find knowledge, you find valravn."
