She didn’t say anything, letting the silence hang for a few seconds. “I didn’t have a choice,” she said, not giving any other explanation.

Gerald cocked his head as he processed Q's monologue.

"You seem unique," he remarked. "Was... whatever happened... because of that?"

I was kinda under the impression that the not-so-happy couple had abandoned the others to have a private chat

"Yep!" Melody grabbed her sword and started walking.

Making sure they were out of earshot, Ellis asked, "what's your real name?"

Conflict entered her eyes. She turned away, unsure what to do. A bit of sadness entered into her eyes as the memories came, and slightly shook her head to try and rid herself of the painful times. Q knew that no matter how many times she shook herself of them, they would always find their ways into her dreams or back into her reality again. It was enough to shake herself for now, no matter for how long. It’ll be enough. Maybe… 

A few seconds of silence passed by, almost thick enough to cut with a knife.

“It’s nice to meet you, Ellis,” she said finally, looking back at him, a small smile appearing on her face. “I’m Yulong Qianshe, daughter of Empress Hishi Qianshe and Wangji Qianshe, and niece of Emperor Wuya Qianshe.”

"Yulong..." Ellis felt at the name, then smiled. "Yeah. That seems right."

"No, she definitely wanted to escape. Being imprisoned is sort of a powerless state, you see. She couldn't gain power while trapped in that way."

The amulet suddenly yanked at Ellis mind, flaring with power. Energy coursed through Ellis in a raging river, filling him from head to toe, crackling with potential-

And then, just as suddenly, it died back down.

Gerald frowned. "The amulet," he said. "Something happened."

"What did?"

"HOLY GODS!" I yelled, grabbing at the amulet. "What in the name of--what just happened?"
