How dare you force me to sign in on my phone.

Q ran after Ellis, outpacing the others as she was slowly, but definitely surely catching up to him. Her heart raced as she sprinted, but she showed no fatigue.

"Ellis!" she called out, almost catching up to him. "Ellis.

Gerald's eyes flash strobing green. He emits a high pitched whistle.

Meanwhile, the hubbub of the amulet is dying down to a low murmur.

After she caught up to him, Q reached out, hesitated for a second, then rested a hand on Ellis’ shoulder.

“Is everything alright?” she asked softly.

"What the scud is wrong with me?" I whispered.

I jumbled my words, still too conflicted to let out a swear.

Ellis did, in fact, scramble the swear. In case you were wondering, I didn't actually type an actual boi under that highlight.

Q furrowed her brow and bit her lip slightly. She sat down next to Ellis, moving closer ever so slightly.

"Why would you say that?"

Q nodded solemnly. "I understand that," she said, her voice lowering to a whisper. "You feel like you're not only lying to the people around you, but you're lying to yourself. You can run from people your whole life, but you can't run from yourself."

She looked back at him, smiling slightly. "You aren't defined by who you were in the past, though; you are defined by who you are now and how you choose to be defined." Q sat back, hesitating again before placing her hand back on his shoulder. "I understand how you have no reason to believe me; you really don't have great reasons to trust me. I do have suspicions that that person you're trying so hard not to be is peeking through, and you don't want that. You might expect me to say something like: 'Oh, but it's great to embrace your inner self, so do that,' but I won't, because that's not the answer in this situation.

"I will be here, no matter who you decide to be. But that decision of who you want to be is up to you. I wish I could solve your problems, 'cause it hurts me to see you like this, but that's not how it works. There are just some things people have to figure out on their own, even if it pains their loved ones to step back and watch."

Q stared at the damp ceiling, feeling Krow agree with her words with a little rush of warmth in her chest. He didn't say anything, of course; he left her to these sorts of things, where she usually started to ramble about whatever and felt like people stopped paying attention to her, but she didn't let it deter her. Q's hand trembled slightly, but she kept it on his shoulder.

"If you need some time to yourself," Q whispered finally, "I can leave you alone."

Cupra's gaze lingered on Ellis for a moment, then shifted to Gerald. Gingerly, she prodded the unconscious octopus.

A holographic projection suddenly popped up, causing her to jump slightly. The image was of Z's drifting off aimlessly. Cupra sighed.

Gerald: *on the brink of death*

She remained by his side, her eyes wandering to Gerald and the hologram––which caused her to tilt her head a bit––then back to Ellis. “Anything specific you want me to do?”

"We will have to see," replied Cupra.

I imagine the characters are all pretty tired at this point- they probably haven't slept for upwards of a whole day at this point.

Why am I mentioning this? No reason.

I was legit about to say something like this >.>

"A fire in a cave is not a good idea," Q said, her eyes lingering on the bundle of wood. "Might cause a cave-in."

"A good thing this is not a cave, then," replied Cupra, tapping on the metal surface of the tunnel.
