My pastor screwed up big time with both an action and communication. Long story short, I'm not allowed to talk to my adopted sister for the school year, so 8 more months, since it's already been 2. 

The way the news was broken to me was him telling my sister, and leaving her to tell me. So she then had to work through pain and tears to tell me. 

He was a coward, and one of the reasons I'm not allowed to talk to her is slander against us.

He then dared to speak to me normal not one hour after I had heard, and act as if nothing had happened. I came within and inch of punching most him in the face. And I wouldn't have regretted it. I didn't, both cause I have sworn windrunner oaths, and because I didn't want to cause my sister more trouble.

That was a shortcut; I study in a different city than my home city, and come back by train for the holidays and some other occasions.

Though I make the day trip to school in subway which you could argue is a train.
