Cadenza sighed. First day and she'd already ruined her outfit. She looked down, it wasn't as bad as she'd thought. The uniform fabric was tough and dark, and her outfit was only a little singed.

Fadran concentrated for a minute, then brought Janice and Trace together into the same dream. They looked the same, except Trace's eyes were red while Janice's were blue. The black veins spread throughout either girl, in the exact same spots.

"Trace. Janice. Would you say that you are two different people?"

The man glared at Kane as he worked to get the lifeboat to the nearest ship. "You aren't the guy who decides that. Although we don't have any on our lifeboats, so keep your hands visible, constantly."

Jay sat in the lifeboat, trying to see if everyone was all right.

"Let me show you something." Fadran said, shifting the appearance of the dream.

Janice's Traces vanished, leaving her a small, pale girl. Trace, on the other hand, found herself covered in the black veins; not a single square inch without the corruption.

"If you were truly different, then you would probably look like this." Fadran said.

Trace put on a smirk. "And then you'll be next."
