He knew that writing was unmanly at best, but he couldn't bear to ask another to do it for him. Even with this reasoning, spren seemed to dance in his stomach, making him uneasy as he worried that someone would find out about this. He tried in vain to brush away his worries as the person on the other side stated that they were ready, and so Ros began to write. Even though he had been unwilling to learn at first, he now found it fairly relaxing as he recounted all that had happened to the one on the other side of the spanreed, it made him feel at peace for the first time since coming to the school.
