The beast backed up, and started whimpering.

"What is that?" Sebarial asked.

"I don't know"

Selia steps forward slowly, making sure to avoid any glass shards from the broken bottle

Sebarial backed up slowly and grabbed some more spheres from the wall, tossing them forward. The spheres fell at the beast's feet light falling on a giant axehound, whimpering in the corner. "An axehound?" Sebarial asked.

[Negative_Null They/Them]

"Sorry little, er, big guy. I thought you were going to eat me."

Selia squats down and holds out her hand to the axehound

Sebarial lets out a sigh of relief. "I thought it was going to be something bad. What was Taln scared about, anyway? This guy looks like a big softie,"

"Well, if you're into shells and mandibles, I guess. What should we do with him?"

[Vapor she/her]

"I'm not sure. Taln seems pretty scared of him, so we probably shouldn't keep him, but I can't just put him on the streets."

[Negative_Null They/Them]

"Don't people keep them as pets?" Selia tries to pet the axehound.

[Vapor she/her]

"Yes. I don't really know anyone who'd want one, though."

[Negative_Null They/Them]

Selia looks over at Brightness.

"Oh rusts, you're going to make me keep it, aren't you?"

...

"No, this was not my idea!"

[Vapor she/her]

"Are you talking to me, or your spren?"

[Negative_Null They/Them]

"Melody says that this is my fault anyway. But I was asking you"

[Vapor she/her]

"No, unless you want to."

[Bearer of all agonies he/him]

Taln slowly creeps into the the basement, and sees that Selia and Sebarial petting the axehound. 
“Ahhhhhhhhh! What are you doing! Run! You’re going to die! Noooooooooooo! Taln whimpers, and runs upstairs.

"Taln?" Sebarial asks. "He's nice. Why are you scared of him?"

"Well, I'm not really an animal person. But I'm sure we'll get along." Selia smiles devilishly at Taln. "I'm going to go get him some food, ok?"

[Vapor she/her]

"Okay. The cooks will be fine providing a little extra food, it's not like we need it." Sebarial said, smiling. "We're swimming in resources here."

[Negative_Null They/Them]

Selia comes back down with a bit of meat. "Here you go, big fella." She holds it out to the axehound.

The axehound bounds over and sniffs the meat tentatively.

"Yeah, here you go..."

[Vapor she/her]

The axehound bites the meat out of her hand and chews it happily.

"Guess he's mine now. I think I'm gonna call you Ferral. Come on, let's see if we can get you a place in my room" Selia stands up and beckons to her new axehound.
