A Silvery Tower dominated the Night.

At the end of a particularilly twisty Alley, next to a nooky building, stands the Silberturm.

It is tall enough to impose its sight upon the horizon of the city, but the alleys, as is their nature, hid it from sight until it stumbled upon.

Above the silver weathered door is a sign. Its Blood red resalting from the Silvery stone of which the tower was made.

Rook smacked his head on the top of the door frame as he tried to enter. He had a frame the size of a fitness addict – or a Pewterarm. He embraced the stereotypes that went with it, buzzing his hair short and wearing dark sunglasses whenever he went out, the kind that were opaque enough to hide his eyes, but you couldn’t see your reflection in. As he crossed the threshold and shrugged off his cloak, his leather jacket became visible. Four white letters were stencilled across its back: L.I.A.R.

“Glassweave coat,” he intoned, throwing it down on the nearest tabletop. “Half-shattered now, but its got salvage value. Earth-made, custom dagger pockets. Yours, if you’ll give me a moment of your time.”

The mountain of a man flipped his palm up to reveal a small cardboard box he had been carrying. “I hear this is a place to trade services and... goods.”

He shook his hand, making the container’s contents rattle a little. “Would you like to buy some thin mints?”

Rook grunted non-noncommittally. "You people and your cookies."

His beefy fingers pulled open the package and slid out the plastic tray from inside. Instead of the alluded to Girl Scout cookies, two rows of gleaming gold coins could be seen - until he closed his hand over the box once more, hiding them from sight. "I'm looking to trade these... thin mints for some information. The batch is yours if you can enlighten me. If not, I suggest you hang onto them. Spend half to get the intel, and keep the rest for yourself."

He leaned forward, expression blank and unreadable. There was no excitement in his voice, no fear, no anger. Just a slight impatience with the man in front of him, and the implicit threat that came with it: don't disappoint.

"I seek the location of a man, early twenties, fit, if a little scrawny. Six feet tall, short brown hair with a fringe. Barcode tattoo on his left ankle. Probably wearing at least one pair of lenses. Code name King, though I doubt you'd get that out of him. He doesn't tell the truth very often. Or ever, really."

He paused, right nostril flaring, his first sign of emotion since entering the building. "Full name: Kingston Smedry. Do we have a deal?"

Lord forward on his chair and smiled pleasantly.

"Oh im not sure the information i could get would be very useful, but with so much gold..."

"A barcode tatoo is not that hard to miss I imagine."

Quite alright!

Kingston is in the TUBA headquarters, it's likely someone working there has seen him. He's using a Disguiser's Lens to hide the tattoo and make himself look about a decade older, but he's still recognizable by the jacket.

Rook nodded and slid the package of coins over. "My number is written down on the outside of that. Text me when you find him."

Deal complete, the big man was almost halfway out the door before he stopped his quick retreat, struck by an afterthought. "I didn't give you my name. You could find it, if you did some digging. Don't. I'll know if you do."

And with that, he stepped quietly back into the night. Once he got a half block away down the alley, a second figure, more lithe and small, almost child sized, emerged from the shadows opposite the door he'd left from. They began to tail him, not subtly, but more as an escort to prevent anyone else from following. After a few twists and turns, the two of them parted ways, having never exchanged a word.

Lord leaned back again in his chair and wiped the pleasant smile off his face as soon as the man left.

So a person with many lenses, that hinted towards a specific kind of person.

they were very slippery with their talents, but once he had nailed this 'king's' talent he could very well counter for it

he immediately sent a hemalurgic tineye to follow the man, to be sure he did nothing, and nothing was done to him. always care for investment.

Tricky because this is a location thread, meaning it's harder to RP other spaces. I was going to leave it at that in terms of their interaction, save for some future message about the intel. Another player can stop by the building now and also do some business, that usually happens a few more times with new places like this. If you want to RP getting the info, that could be done too, probably via a conversation with an NPC informant or going to a different location to talk to people. It's kind of up to you.

Lena walked up to the silvery tower. It was huge, impressive, and she grinned again excited about what was going to happen. She had spend a few hours disguising herself, had used some fake blonde hair to cover her red one, contact lenses to change the color tone of her eyes and a little make up to change the way her face was perceived. It looked a little rounder now, her cheeks slightly pink. Small things, easy to do and hard to spot. At least easy if you had some practice and Lena had successfully changed a few facts about herself for years. Rarely anybody was able to look it through.

She was still humming a happy tone, her bag slung over her shoulder, a fresh set of pancakes waiting to be ate inside. It was a good day, a very good day. She opened the door and looked around for someone to greet her, for a place visitors were supposed to go. Swiping her gaze through the room she tried to spot a few guards, note their position. And the kitchen. She also needed to find the kitchen. That part was even more important.

Hello!

it is kind of fun to RP with people you know want to destroy you ;p

also, how do i make NPCs? can i just make them in the spot? or do i need to get them approved?

"Hello there!" Said Lord as he approached the newcomer.

"Good day! what do you need?"

"Are you interested in buying or selling? or a membership?"

Just make them up. No need to approve them, as they are only there to make the setting logical. (Like a front desk person, or a cleaning guy, or whoever you need.)

You only need to keep in mind that everybody can control them e.g. kill a guard if they want to, without waiting for your approval.

"Selling sounds awesome." She turned around, waved at a man. "But I need a very special clientele for my goods so I wonder if you can provide me with that?"

She doubted it, but she had a few harmless thi gs she could sell easily, even outside of the more darker shaded places. Medicine, light drugs, whatever else she had made mostly for her own needs.

Ah, here it is, Calarian thinks. He had seen this place when he wandered the city- surely a place such as this could get some sort of information about this "Xaver".
He bursts into the shop and, ignoring the other customer and walking straight up to Lord-son-son-son-Silberfarben. He's a Scadrian man, tall, carrying a cane and wearing a suit and bowler hat.
"Excuse me! I am looking for a man, named Xaver, or something similar. Could you find me some contacts?"

Freya follows Calarian quietly, looking around the shop.  It has an interesting aura, she decides.  She's not sure yet if she likes it or not.

"Oh hello there!" He suddenly realizes he doesn't know her name. A recurring customer, that could be profitable, he should at least be on nodding terms. "Good to see you again, may I ask your name?"

Mike had followed quietly while the detective took over. He was a professional, so much was obvious from the way he talked and moved and how he headed from one place to the other without hesitating. He was relived at that and while he feared that he wouldn't be able to pay for any part of this - he still couldn't help but feel relaxed now that the matter was a little out of his hand.

Silently he looked around through the room, unsure what to do now, how he could help.

Do you have a spike lying around openly? Or something Mike could see that hints at you having spikes?

@Lord_Silberfarben

=============

Lena sat down on a nearby table and watched the man talk to some other guests of his. She started to hum a happy tune after a while, bored by endless discussion and hopped down when she grew too bored.

"Hello."

She waved a hand at the three newcomers. "I'm Lena." she found herself grinning a little. They looked like sheep, especially the boy. Always staring down at his feet, unsure where to look and if he was in a right place. "Are you sure, you should ask for someone you're looking for at a Trader's guild?"

With a shrug she made a sweeping gesture through the room. "I doubt they are the right place to gain informaton." She had no idea if it was the right place or not, but it didn't really matter. She mostly wanted to annoy them a little.

Nope, Lord would not do that ;p
but if you go down to the basement --im sure you can get past anyone there-- and you go even deeper(concealed door in some ingenious way) you might hear someone shouting: "AAAAH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THAT SPIKE!!!"

He was tempted to ignore her, which is what he usually did to people insulting him, but he knew his customers would not ignore it as he did.

"Oh this is the Right Place for any kind of service, as the sign outside the door says; any kind of service. That includes finding missing friends."

It's so tempting to do just that. But Mike sadly has no real reason to wander off on his own.

You know Lena wasn't talking to Lord at all :P

Irritated why the trader replied to her Lena frowned. "I thought you knew how to sell my goods?" she inquired and then shook her head again. "If you're more a detective, I'm even less sure you have what I need."

With another shrug she turned around. "Mind if I take a look? We can't talk business while you're busy." Without waiting for his reply she walked off, looking around curiously. You never knew, hopefully this information would come in handy soon.

Sorry, I think I helped cause this confusion in the first place.- I totally missed Lena talking to us. I'm just assuming now that Cal just ignored her since he was already mid-conversation with Lord.
