Aeoryi she/her Posted January 8 Posted January 8 3 minutes ago, Keke said: Mmm that voice one is kinda confusing me. What do you mean? Voices that go through testosterone based puberty have the effects of testosterone based puberty on the larynx. The vocal folds in the larynx become thicker or something and that causes the voice to sound more gravel like and darker. It sounds 'heavier' for instance. The larynx is the part of your respiratory tract before the trachea (your windpipe, leads to lungs) and the epiglottis (which is what prevents food from going down the trachea). It is what allows you to speak. There's a common misconception that pitch is what makes people determine your gender based on your voice, that men have lower voices and women have higher voices. While this is partially true, about 95% of people (male and female) will be in an androgynous pitch range where their voice can be recognized as either male or female. Pitch actually does very little for your gender. Resonance and vocal weight matter in terms of others recognizing your gender based on your voice alone. Resonance refers to where you form sounds. Feminine voices tend to have phonation (where you form your sound, where it seems to "come from") at or even outside the mouth, where as most masculine voices tend to seem to come from the throat or even chest. Vocal weight is how your voice sounds, whether it sounds heavy or light, or light or dark. Masculine voice tend to fall in the heavy/dark range, which basically means it sounds like rumbling. Both of these changes tend to come pretty quickly if/when you start T, so don't worry about it too much. 15 minutes ago, Honors Ghost said: I wish I lived in Canada I can’t take hrt until I’m 18 and if I showed up to school female presenting I’d get beat up Canada is awesome depending on the province (healthcare is provincially managed). Akimikoisthecutest Posted January 8 Posted January 8 @Keke, here are some of my tips: First, solve your disputes face to face. You have to be kind of blunt with each other. Second, confidence is key. Third, don't roll your shoulders back, unless you have a rep for being preppy. And finally, you have to be mentally strong. You often have to deal with jerks, or at least I do, and you can't let them see you get emotional. I know this sounds stereotypical, but instead of breaking down in front of them, break down in the bathroom.

Long hair, not nesisary but it can help a lot. Even if it’s like shoulder length or shorter. Just no buzzcuts or anything. clothes dont really matter that much! Just try to avoid overtly “male” clothes. Dresses/skirts with leggings! Reveal hidden contents Bras! Wear em even if you’re not on hrt! The feelings and vibe of them can help! And wear like shoulder cut off shirts to get n awesome vibe! When walking dont like be all heavy. Try to walk a bit lighter n straigher! Hmmm lies she/her Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Hello, everyone. I am posting right now to call out @certifiedcranedriver. (To be clear, she knew I was going to make this post ahead of time) You might know her as the pan trans girl who joined this place out of nowhere, and posts her occasionally. That is correct. However, today, I realized that she has pulled off a scheme so audacious, so insane, so unbelievable, and so damn impressive that I realize I have been bamboozled greater than I have in a long time. (most of you will probably not care nearly as much as I did, but I'm sure you'll appreciate it) You see, @certifiedcranedriver is a student at my school, one I talk to a lot, who is not out of the closet. I had not realized that these two people were the same until today. Let me give you some backstory. She had at one point announced that she was beginning "The Secret Operation". Though I asked what this was, she didn't tell me, although she did later inform me that she wanted me to figure it out, and was dropping clues. As it turns out, this Secret Operation was in fact joining the 17th shard and the Certified Gay Disasters thread, as herself, and using it as the most crazy way to come out to someone I have ever seen in my life. (I had previously told her about the thread, and occasionally showed her stuff from there, as well as introducing her to the Cosmere.) She referenced things she said on the Shard in real life (such as the combat pan thing), though I was too dense to notice it initially, and pretty much acts the same way on the Shard as she does in real life, what with long-winded historical facts and her general vibe. I once even showed her one of her own posts, thinking she would find it funny. She was no doubt giggling so hard inside. I finally realized it when the following events occurred. 4 hours ago, certifiedcranedriver said: also one of my friends (or "client") is trying to come out to their parents, y'all got any advice? Then, in real life, she referred to someone as a "friend/client" (I don't quite remember the context). I froze, remembering where I saw that before. She acted innocent for a moment, before laughing extremely hard as I crashed out when I realized that this is what the Secret Operation was. I'm going to be so real though, I knew it. I didn't know she was specifically a pan trans girl, but I just figured that there was no way that someone like her was just cishet. And I suppose it would have gone against her nature to come out like a normal person... Got anything to say for yourself? 2
