Now I don't know what pronouns I want.

Could be a today thing.

I also might be sick, like many of you.

But like I don't feel anymore like they/them.

Maybe just today.

I'm also not in a great mood cuz today wasn't the best. Nothing that bad but ugh.

Anyway so yeah.

Yeah, I'm considering that.

Do you know anything that would help?

Guys pls don't hate on me but:

What should I refer to collegiate female students as? In a "fiction" story I'm writing.

Woman or girl?

Girl seems like it might be demeaning, but woman seems old?

I don't like boy/man/girl/woman. "Guy" is the only one that sounds right imo, but it's usually ("hey, guys!") for the male people ("I saw this guy, and he was ...").

Edit:

I suppose the same goes for the male collegiates. "A man sat down next to me" doesn't sound as good imo as "a guy sat down next to me." And "boy" definitely doesn't work. So, is it the same with "girl"?

Edit2:

For high schoolers, I assume it's guy/girl?

Is there a female version of "guy"? Or a gender-neutral version? I feel like there should be, if not. Maybe there's an obvious one that I'm just not thinking of lol.

Uhhhh in this case I would say it depends on the maturity of the character bc if you want them to come Off as more mature I’d do woman but if they are less mature I’d do girl

I mean...she's gonna be like around 18 or 19, but age is also different from maturity.

Ok...so I just envisioned calling some female collegiates I know girls and it just doesn't sound right. It sounds really awful actually. But ... I mean I guess woman works? But, like, I don't necessarily call male collegiates men. They're guys. It's not like they're all that mature. Well ... some are, some not. Etc. Idk.
