"So...do you need them? Besides the Lashai, they're all friends so they won't just listen to us, but they will fight for a cause. That cause can range from honor to simple bloodshed to money."

Here's "WE'RE GETTING ICONA BACK" by... me! And Queen! Who's just me, but from a different reality!

If you haven't already, do check out the other two megaposts we've done. I'll link them at the bottom.

Spoiler

“Well alright…” Fadran finished throwing the things he needed into his backpack and shouldered it onto his back. “That’s all my stuff taken care of. We shouldn’t be there long.”
He summoned his Channelblade, ready to cut a Parallarity at any time. “You still good for coming to find my long-lost godly friend?”

“Not just good, I’m about ready to lead this expedition!” Queen didn’t have a pack, but all of her pockets looked even more stuffed than normal. “Only thing is, I have no clue how to get there. So that’s why I’m letting you lead this one.”

“Great. In that case…” Fadran sliced the air with his sword and opened a Parallarity gate and held out a hand for Queen. “Let’s go.”

Queen took his hand, clinging to it tightly but trying not to betray her nervousness…or her absolutely giddy excitement at the fact that they were gonna get Icona back

Fadran clutched her hand as well and stepped through the Parallarity.Taking a deep breath, Queen followed him through, mentally preparing herself for weirdness.

Quote

Queen:
Are Parallarities weird to travel through?))

Quote

Fadran:
Uhhhh... I don't frigin' know

Emerging out the other side, the two of them found themselves on an open, empty field of grass, extending out as far as the eye could see. There was simply nothing in every direction: nothing, that was, save a single thin crack in the ground leading down into the darkness.
“Feylore! Great place, huh?”

Queen was…underwhelmed, to say the least.

“Yeah. We’re not exactly in the fun areas of the Collective.” Fadran pulled off his backpack and started rummaging through it for a length of rope. “After we find Icona we can go see the cool bits. Are you more of a post-apocalyptic wasteland kind of girl or more of a endless sea of flowers kind of girl?”

“Both, just in different ways. Today…” Queen looked around the barren landscape. “I’m feeling flowers. But that might change by the time we get Icona.”

“How are you with belaying? Because we have to lower ourselves down this crack.”

“Not… super practiced, but I can do it.” Queen looked at the fissure. She wasn’t necessarily afraid of heights; she was afraid of falling to her death. Any sane person would be when looking into a deep, dark, black abyss with no visible bottom… right? It wasn’t fear of heights. She wasn’t afraid of heights.

Quote

Queen:
She’s totally afraid of heights.

“Don’t worry. I got good quality rope. Some guy with a ponytail in another universe recommended it to me.” Fadran tied some knots around the two of them and secured them to a pair of boulders.

“I’m not worrying.” Queen was very clearly worrying. “And… if for some reason I was worrying, I’d still know that it’d be fine.” She smiled up at Fadran. “After all, I’m with you.”

Fadran smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist. “I’ll take us down. You just try not to throw up into the abyss or anything. I really want you to be there; Icona’d been egging me on to kiss you ages before you did…”

Queen grinned and held tightly to Fadran. “Coward.”

Quote

Queen:
Once Icona’s back in Fadran’s head and he has to listen to Fadran’s conversations with Queen, he might regret encouraging their relationship. He’ll also be the ultimate third wheel, second only to Matt Meese in that one sketch. Definitely one of my favorite Studio C sketches.

Quote

Fadran Stephen and Matt:
“Maybe we should watch a movie tonight?”

“I already brought The Vow!”

“Don’t worry. I’ll make up for it once we don’t die.” Fadran leaned against the rope at the edge of the crack. “You ready?”

Queen nodded quickly, then buried her head in Fadran’s chest.

“Alright!” He dropped into the pit.

Queen yelped, despite her best efforts to hide her fear.

Chuckling like a good friend always should at their buddy’s fear, Fadran slowly descended into the pit. The crack widened out around them the deeper they went, and soon there was enough room to stretch out and sway lightly back and forth.
“Hey. Take a look.” Fadran held up a hand. “It’s okay. Nothing except the bottomless void beneath you.”

“That’s what scares me,” Queen mumbled, forcing herself to look up. “I can’t see what’s coming.” Butterflies flitted in Queen’s stomach, and the swaying wasn’t helping.

“There’s more to these caves than just the empty abyss, y’know.” Fadran lit his hand on fire and held it up; a million crystals along the walls began to glitter in the light. “Like these!”

Queen’s fear slowly dissipated as she looked around at the sparkling gems. Then she looked down again and the fear returned. She quickly returned her gaze to the crystals, focusing on the way the light bounced through them. “It’s so beautiful.” She was completely awestruck.

“We’ve got a cool set of planets here in the Iconar Collective!” Fadran smirked and let go of the rope for just a second, dropping them a couple feet.

Queen screamed again. “Don’t do that!”

“Okay! Okay.” Fadran was trying not to laugh.

Queen glared at him and let out a low growl.

“We’re almost there,” Fadran said. “Just a couple dozen seconds, I’d say. You sure you don’t want to just drop down?”

“Don’t. You. Dare.”

“Okay.” He chuckled under his breath, pressed an apologetic kiss onto Queen’s cheek, then kept lowering them down—slowly, this time. “But don’t say that this isn’t at least a little nice.”

Queen thought for a moment. “It wouldn’t be nice at all if I was alone and if I didn’t have a reason to be doing this. But because I’m with you and because I know we’re going to get Icona, yes. It’s kind of nice.” She glared again. “What isn’t nice is when you drop us.”

“What? Like this?” He dropped them, but this time onto a rocky outcropping just a few inches beneath them.

Yet another scream came from Queen. “Yes. And I told you to stop doing that!” It was nice to feel something secure under her feet. “Surely you could have gotten us here a little less terrifyingly?”

“Now, where’s the fun in that?” Fadran held up his flaming hand, revealing a ‘doorway’ in the rock. “So we’re here, at the creepy underground Shrine of Icona. You want to go first or should I?”

“Definitely you. I’ll be right behind.” Queen took a moment of consideration. “Actually, would it be possible to go together?”

“Yeah sure.” He hooked his arm into hers. “Let’s be off!”

Queen went through the doorway with him, with only a minor amount of nervousness. After belaying down that crack, a spooky, rocky shrine doorway was nothing.

It didn’t take the two of them long to find themselves in a large, central chamber with doors leading off to all four sides. Fadran immediately led them down to the door on their left.

Queen shuddered, either from nervousness or cold… or possibly both. “How do you know where we’re going?”

“I’ve been here before. This is where I found Icona the first time and it’s very likely that this is where we’ll find him again.”

At the thought of finding Icona soon, Queen couldn’t contain her grin and began bouncing in excitement.

Quote

Fadran:
Even though she’s, like, never directly met him? Okay

Quote

Queen:
SHE KNOWS HE’S FREAKING EPIC. Also… uh… I’ve never directly met you and I bounce in excitement every scudding time I think about meeting you.

Edit: except WE NOW HAVE and all you poor fellowshippers have to put up with two Queedrans now.

“He should be right on through… here.” They came out into another room, with a series of steps leading up to an altar atop a pedestal.

“This is… a pretty fancy set-up. And yes, I realize that he’s a god, but who puts a fancy shrine for a god in a cave in a crack in the earth?”

“Hey, you’re allowed to have both aesthetic license and presence discretion, right?”

“Sure.” Queen looked around. “So… where is he?”

“In a sort of… higher-dimension state. Not exactly in the physical.” Fadran started walking up the steps. “But I should be able to get him to manifest his conscience at the very least here. It’ll just take a bit of magic and potentially a lot of trial and error.”

Queen hesitated, unsure if she was supposed to follow Fadran up the stairs or not.

“You can come on up. Icona isn’t that picky.”

“Oh. Okay!” Queen climbed up to Fadran’s side.

Fadran nodded, then placed his hand on the altar. “Let’s see… uhhh…” He retreated into his mind.

Now Queen really didn’t know what she was supposed to do, so she just kind of stood there awkwardly.

Who… An ethereal voice permeated the room, heard by the mind rather than the ear.

Queen jumped, but managed to withhold any sound. Fadran probably knew what to do.

“Icona…” Fadran muttered. He was thinking the words, but they were coming out his mouth anyways. “It’s me.”
Who…

“I’m here. Me and Queen.” He opened his eyes and elbowed here. “Say something,” he whispered.

“Um. Hi? Icona? It’s Queen.”

…Queen?

“Yeah. You kind of died for me a while ago?” Queen looked to Fadran for help.

He seemed very focused on maintaining the connection.
Not… died…

“Well, some kind of massive sacrifice. I didn’t really get to thank you, since you sort of… left afterwards. So, thanks.”

“Keep… going…” Fadran muttered, voice cracking from the strain. Whatever he was doing, it was way more difficult than he’d anticipated.

“We came here to try and bring you back with us. I never really got to know you very well, but I know Fadran’s missed you. And… I think he needs your help with something. He won’t tell me much about it, but he’s been having some difficulties.”

There was a silence, and then, You’re… Queen?

“Yes. Or Q, but I haven’t gone by that for a while.”

Queen… Icona’s ethereal voice seemed to come more into focus. I thought… I was…

“Hm?”

You’re here with Fadran?

“Yes. We came through a Parallarity and then went down a terrifying abyss, then came here. To find you.”

...Fadran?
“Icona!” Fadran cried out, falling away from the altar. His voice had suddenly cracked with emotion. “Icona!”

Queen grabbed hold of Fadran, looking at him with concern.

The presence of Icona left the room, leaving Fadran taking deep breaths in Queen’s arms.
“He’s back,” Fadran said. “I can feel him.”

Quote

Queen:
WE GOT ICONA BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Queen smiled, only a little disappointed that Icona hadn’t manifested physically. “He’s back?”

“In my head. Incredibly weak and energy-deprived, so he’s basically passed out.” Fadran nodded. “But he’s back. Queen, you… you brought him back.”

I did? All I did was talk. You looked like you were about to die from the effort of whatever you were doing.”

“That’s why you brought him back. I had to pull his conscious into this plane of existence, which was… a whole heck of a lot harder than I expected.” Fadran placed his hand against his temple. “But he was weak. Still is, but at least he’s back. You… kind of grounded him. He knows you. So you saved him.”

“Okay. Doesn’t change the fact that what you did was probably way more impressive than what I did.”

“Magical doohickeys are overrated. Come on; let’s get out of here.” Fadran reluctantly pulled himself out of Queen’s arms. “Unless you’d rather stay in the bottomless pit.”

“It’s actually pretty nice in the caves… but we should probably go back.” Queen grinned. “And at least you can’t drop us if we’re going up.”

“I could drop us going up. It’d be difficult and unnecessary, but I could drop us going up.”

“Not while continuing to go up. Unless you have a way to reverse gravity, in which case you terrify me.”

“I do have a way to reverse gravity. Temporarily.”

“Congratulations, you terrify me.” Queen grabbed his hand. “C’mon, let’s go.”

"Dunno. All I know was that Elduvar was hurt. Again. And only on his first battle this time!" The light, peppy voice heralded the appearance of a blond, blue-eyed and light skinned boy of about 17. He was skinny, and was wearing a blue-ish uniform. He looked vaugely elvish, but the evident strength and growing facial hair proved his human blood. "Hi y'all. I'm Maros, Elduvar's...squire? Friend? Cousin? I dunno. I'm here to protect Elduvar and help out, in that order, until he's back up to strength."

Andante waved.

Oh so that's what you meant.

"The Panserbjørn owe us, and we're the commanding officers for the Lashai. The Scadrians will jump at any opportunity to assassinate authority, while the Awakeners will do almost anything for money. The fact that the Wyrn is religious will get them more. And the Rosharans? They'll jump at the opportunity for any glory." He checked his watch. "Oh. And the Lashai should be here...now." A series of small cylindrical metal pods dropped into the ground around them. The sides dropped off and soldiers marched out. They were large men, looking like and dressed like Vikings. They had swords in sheathes, axes in hands, and shields on their backs. Some of them had bows, or hammers, or two-hand axes, or even mages' staffs. One dressed in a sharp-looking uniform came up and saluted crisply to Maros. "You called, my lord?" Maros smiled. "Crispin, nice to see you. These folks need help with a revoloution." Crispin smiled. "Excellent." He turned to the soldiers. "Standard operation. Type 3." The soldiers started cheering. Maros tapped Crispin. "Oh, and you're in charge. I need to go with Elduvar." Crispin nodded as if he had expected this. "Yes sir. Who's in charge while you're gone sir?" Maros looked around for a moment. "Listen to Channelknight Fadran, Lord Stephan of Iadon or Queen." He pointed to each one in turn. Crispin nodded again. "Yes sir. Good luck." Maros teleported away. Crispin sighed, and then turned to Fadran, Stephan, and Queen. "Anything I can help with?"

First army. @Channelknight Fadran, @Knight of Iron, and @DancingQueen Crispin'll listen to you, although I'll be switching my POV between him and Maros and Elduvar. I'll be less active, so here. If we need another, I can bring in another. I am playing Crispin though.

Also, the Lashai look like Vikings now (besides Crispin) but they can look like other things as well. Their clothes change.

"You could try destroying this wall, but it seems like teleportation works just fine."

"Okay then." He turned to the army. "Alright men, teleport outside!" The guys with staffs created portals, the army went through, portals closed, all done. He turned back to everyone else and rubbed his hands together. "Let's get to strategy now."

"I'm fine."  Portals.  He needs to look into that at some point.
