Fox also walked through the portal. Interesting. Maybe she would get to use her knives...

"Telekinesis, princess," said Psyder, spinning his knife in his hand. "There's a reason I had you choose it."

"Why?"

Hiiri holds out an arm awkwardly, trying to help T.

T takes the arm, then hops a few times towards Hiiri, then reaches to put her arm over Hiiri's shoulder. Ember watches carefully from the trees, preparing to follow behind them.

Hiiri puts her arm around T and under her opposite arm to support her.

Stepping through the portal, ash in two, Fadran stretched widely. "Alrighty! Chrysler, if you could get to training those soldiers, that'd be appreciated. Nath... do whatever it is that you need to be doing, and Jek..." He looked at the young man. "Would you come with me, please?"

@Negative_Null @Nathrangking @Vapor

I step through the portal and put down the buckets of ash that I carry. "Chrysler, have you put up the wards?"

Jek sighs and follows him.

I assumed she'd already left during this

A soldier says "The contingent of soldiers left to make the wards about half an hour ago"

"Take me to them if you would."

The soldier nods. "Follow me, sir" and starts walking in the direction of the castle.

I follow the soldier and motion for Vale and Fox to follow.

Fox nodded back to Nath and followed. She put her hand in her pocket and fidgeted with her knife.

Fadran took him behind the tent where they wouldn't be overheard.

"If you would like to yell at me," Fadran said, "now would be the time."

Jek wrinkled his brow. "Do you... want me to?"

"If you would just like to candidly chat with me about something, then that works to, because... well..." Fadran took a seat on a stump. "Listen, man. I didn't ask to be put in charge of you guys, this army, or... well, any of this. The point remains that I am, though, so I'm doing my best. Unfortunately, I'm no more perfect than any of the rest of you, and from the position I've been placed, every mistake I make affects you guys as much as myself." He fiddled with something on his wrist; something he did when uncomfortable. "And now Vapor's trapped in a primordial god's pocket dimension, devoid of any clue about who she is or who we are. That's my fault. Both you and her are paying a price that I could've very well avoided for you two.

"So... in the end, I guess it's kind of a selfish thing, asking you to yell at me. A sort of self-imposed punishment to prove that I'm not a perfect leader, a perfect friend, or a perfect person, because being perfect would be a scudding ton of responsibility." Fadran wrung his hands. "Despite all that, though, this is still your trial, though. Tell me how to help you. Please."

Jek leaned against a tree. "You know what I'm going to say."
