Fox's voice betrayed her emotion, weighted with a slight quiver. "He gave the blade to me, I promise. I do not know much of Queen, besides that she helped us, and Nath trusts her." Fox's body was taut with tension, she would be ready to take an opportunity to change this circumstance (pun intended) if necessary.

Her eyes are wild. Any control that she had had evaporated. There is a question buried deep within her, but she dare not speak it. "What troubles you child that you received aid?" He trusts her does he? His trust cannot be bought. "What of you? Does he truly trust you? Would you trust him with your life." Her blade does not waver. The slightest look of hesitance appears in the depths of her soul.

James shook his head. "I have met the one you call Fate- Kishmethis is his name, yes? He came to our lands to warn us of the monsters that had escaped. He may be called a god, but he is not the one whom I follow." He shrugged. "Perhaps I was sent here as a warning to you. Nonetheless, I feel my task is more involved than that." He glanced at Vapor. "I suppose I will soon see."

"I believe that you think that you are special. Uncle rarely leaves his realm. When he does it is to toy with mortals. He won't be coming to save you. If I run you through you will die. I know that you believe what you say. If you desire life desist with this foolishness." Mita's voice takes on a dangerous edge. He calls a wicked looking hand and a half blade to him. It seems to almost taste the tang of blood. There is an almost eagerness within it to take life.

Herial rushes over, flustered. "Oh, now who knows what you've done to yourself? Stay still." She checks him over, focusing on his torso.

Queen hurries to Herial's side. "What can I do to help?"

Oh, have fun at school...

I also have school soon. (ب_ب)

"Of course!" Queen pulled off her hat, reaching into one of the pockets of her tool belt and pulling out a clean roll of bandages, using it to bind Nath's wound. "Nath, are you alright? That is, do you feel alright? Mentally, too, not just physically."

Fox decided to disregard the first question. "I... I don't know if he trusts me... I think he does. And I... yes, I trust him with my life." She would let herself be somewhat sincere, because all strategy seemed to have been thrown out the window anyway, but she did pick up on a flash of something on the woman's face... worry? anxiety? or perhaps it was... a faltering of thought? Fox did know this woman enough to be sure, but there was something going on that she could probably take advantage of. Or she could just accept that one of these days she would probably be sliced to bits by some voodoo magical creature.

I groan in pain. A multitude of fires burn within me all at once. I crack open my eyes as tears flood down them. My voice cracks under the accumulating pain. "I think I pushed myself too far. As an immortal I had no limits..." I pause as wave of white hot pokers smash into my sternum. "Now I have reached my physical limit." I purposefully ignore Queen's question, but I send a small wave of gratitude toward her mind via our bond.

Cicestran's eyes narrow a little bit of the cold calculation that had been there before returns. "I can see that you are withholding information from me. You also ignored some of what I asked of you. However, I admire the courage that you have displayed this day. Know that I will discover the truth that you hide." She dismisses her blade and armor with a thought. With blinding speed her right hand lashes out and grabs Fox's hand. Cicestran puts Fox's hand in a death grip and thrusts the contested knife into her abdomen. Shock transforms into confusion which in turn morphs into realization as the knife sinks painlessly into her flesh. She releases her hold and steps back. There is no blood on the knife nor is there a wound on her body. Four clipped words are arrows from her lips. "How did I die?"

"Belief has nothing to do with anything. You have spent little time among gods. Fate did not send you here. You foolishly believe that Fate cares." In less time than it takes to blink Mita appears before James. His blade presses into Jame's chest. "Death does not want you this day. No instead you will be our guest." Chains appear upon James binding his arms and legs. "Try and break them. These are nasty little chains. They are tied to your soul. You will be consumed if these chains are removed by any, but myself."

Fox stared into the woman's eyes fearlessly, though her gut churned as the woman identified the lack of information. Fox released a short breath she didn't know she was holding when the blade was removed from her neck, but then the woman's sudden and surprising grasp on her hand send electrifying shocks of fear and terror through Fox's whole body. The minute the woman let go of Fox, she quickly pulled the knife out and stepped back. She was breathing shallow breathes in and out, and had to make herself slow down. Then she looked back up with eyes of jeweled daggers at the woman, "Don't you dare touch me again." Fox said chillingly, with a speck of hatred that had somehow slipped in. Not hatred at the woman, per-say, but at the action.

Circestran meets the daggers of Fox's with frozen lances of her own. Inexplicably she begins to laugh. A sudden wave of laughter bends over her proud form. Her proud form is doubled over as laughter that floats like beams of light in the early morning takes flight. The eagle wings on her back fold as spasms rock her. When she looks up again the smallest measure of ice has left her gaze. Something almost a distant relative of a smile settles on Circestran's face. A tear rolls out of her left eye. Her breathing picks up a little. All of this melts away after a momentary eternity. "This is precious. I can see well why if what you said was true Nath would have given you the knife. He saw in you what he said that he saw in me. It seems that we both have a fire and ice mixture running through our veins." She pauses and takes in a deep calming breath. "I it would seem am an echo tied to that knife that he gave us. I doubt he even knows."

When the woman began to laugh, Fox was filled with something in between the feeling of dread and hatred, but not quite either. She never could quite come up with a name for it, perhaps it was the wounding of pride. Fox hated being laughed at, but then, it seemed as if this woman was not quite laughing at her, she did not have that look of contempt and sharpness when the laughter was finished, but a look of only someone who had been humored. Fox didn't know how to respond to that. Then the woman spoke of what she was, an... echo.

"You're... an echo tied to the knife? What does that even mean?" Fox asked.

Never underestimate the power of commas, Nath. "I, it would seem, am an echo tied to that knife he gave us. I doubt he even knows."

Skye hummed, walking around where she had fallen asleep. The rest of the group had left, and she didn't really blame them for it.

Rubrum sang her favorite lullaby as she skipped, something about wolves and hoods. She allowed the song to carry her someplace new and exciting, where she continued skipping. But there was someone else here, too. Rubrum stopped singing and skipping, and sighed (yay alliteration). She cocked her head at the figure's humming. It was a horrible noise. Rubrum would take care of it and get some points along the way. She pulled out her little card, scanning it for something... there. That's what she wanted.

As she advanced upon the girl, with a mere two inch bladed pocket knife resting in her hand, Rubrum called out to her, "You know what the best part about scarlet cloth is? It never gets stained by blood."

There was a scream, and then, silence...

...save for a pen scratching on paper.

This is a serial killer btw, I won't have her do anything that big for awhile until the other antagonists have been mostly neutralized, so don't worry (cough Fadran cough). Rubrum's going to just have some character building and stuff in the side tales for now.

The correct term is per se. Thought it would probably be nice to know that for the future!

That deserved a reputation. There you go, you rock!

Herial looked over at Queen. "I don't know how, but he's managed to break most of his ribs. Nath, I can't do much about it, they have to heal on their own, but if anyone has an unsealed goldmind, that would be great. Usually, this would take about six weeks to heal as long as you were careful, but with a goldmind, you can heal faster. Also, I don't know that you would follow my instructions and take it easy.
