The Fox grabbed a knife out of one of her pockets and allowed her fingers twirl it around. She let her emotion drain away back into the void. She was calm, like a fox. "Now I feel like taking off someone's arm." She glanced at Nath, thinking back to their earlier conversation. "As long as you aren't too disappointed, I think I'll focus my efforts on whatever wacko voodoo creature is chasing us."

"That sounds like a good idea." Fadran says.

Queen had no clue what a withergeist was, but she did know that she wasn't a very good warrior. She mildly enhanced the strength of those she knew to already be good fighters, then enhanced the speed of the rest of them, as well as the healing powers of the few healers, including herself.

The Fox stopped abruptly.

Suddenly, her arm was slick with blood, causing her leather jacket to stick to her arm. It was very uncomfortable, but that was the least of her worries. It was night, and the air smelled like gasoline. A towering lamp-post shined light on a man with a gun standing over a bloodied girl with red hair, who was sprawled out on the concrete ground. The gun was smoking. The man kneeled down, and checked the girl's pulse. He smiled cruelly. Then, he looked up straight up at Little Fox, who thought she had been undiscovered. She was crouching in the shadows, tears streaming down her face. Alice was dead. "You can come out now, Little Fox." He said with a sickeningly sweet sounding voice, pointing the gun at her.

Bam. Just like that, the Fox returned the group. She knew her face was probably twisted all around in pain, so she returned it to nonchalance. "My sister's... gone." The Fox didn't know for how long she had been experiencing that episode, it took from a few seconds to a few hours for that kind of thing to pass. She saw Vapor beside her still, so she assumed that it had only been a couple seconds. The Fox began walking again, and realized her right hand was strangling one of her knife handles. She tried to relax it, but to no avail. This happened sometimes too, so she just let her hand keep clenching the knife.

"Thank you, the Fox said, taking the knife with her left hand. "I will guard it well." She hooked the knife onto her belt. Then, realizing her right hand was back in her control, she withdrew it from her pocket, and wiped the sweat off her palms.

A feeling of horror filled the Fox, as Vale took out a gun. She immediately averted her eyes from it, to prevent another flashback. She took her left leg, which was twisted the worst, and stomped the ground with it. Her whole leg felt like it was on fire. Re-focused, the Fox walked to the side of the group. She would fight to protect these people who had helped her, but she wasn't sure she fully trusted them enough to leave her back fully exposed.

I look over at Queen and nod in thanks as a small burst of power appears within me. I hear the pain in her voice. I keep my own counsel. I roll my eyes when I see her give me a look when she twirls her knife and declares her desire to take off an arm.

"Naturally."

Fadran fell into a stance, spotting the incoming creature from the horizon. "You're not a fighter, right?" He asks Queen. "Do you think you could take Kindness north while we hold this guy off?"

@Spren of Kindness

"I guess. Do you not think I might be needed for healing or enhancements, though?"

"I guess what I'm asking you to do isn't a tactical decision," Fadran replied, "but more of a selfish desire to keep you two safe?"

"Aw, thanks?"  Kindness isn't sure what she's supposed to say to that.  She hugs Fadran.

"I will do my best to distract the beast while you attack," Chinkoln says, trying and failing to sound confident. "I may be annoying, but I will protect those in need. Fadran, it is your job to hit it with a big stick while I dodge. Otters aren't very offensive in direct confrontations, we generally wear it down and run away, or wear it down and then die because we failed."

"Big stick?" Fadran holds up his Channelblade. "Did you just call this a big stick?"

"Well, he's not wrong. Listen, if this goes badly I can try and get out the big guns, but it will take a long time, at least by battle standards. If it comes to that, protect me, ok?"

"Well, I can't protect you directly, but I can distract it. You see, in case you didn't notice, I am an otter, and we are very flexible and acrobatic, so I can dodge and distract, while Fadran hits it with his big stick cookie cutter."

Just for the record, I love you guys. I can never find people who share all my fandoms elsewhere. I mean, Hamilton, Avatar, Sanderson, board games. The only way this could get better would be if you guys were addicted to tea!

While we were having some friendly banter at Fadran's sake, the monster had kept coming towards us, uncaring for comedic timing and humorous pauses. "Fadran, your sewing needle could really come in handy right now," Chinkoln said, sounding EXTREMELY worried. "I may be pretty powerful, but I may have also forgotten the tiny detail of my powers being really fickle and unreliable." *cough* "They aren't working right now. Our only viable plans are to kill it with your pencil sharpener while I distract it, or try to entice it with my fish stew. Opinions?"

:wub::wub:. We love you too... I almost called you Scar. You most definitely go by Fox as a nickname.

Meh, you can call me Scar if you'd like. :ph34r: I do have a pretty good sized one on my left arm, so I could fit it. Though, I don't particular like evil lions who frame little lions, so...
