Fadran glances over at Queen. "Hey, uh... Queen? You okay?"

"Maybe...? I can't ask Tchanta anything because she used up her mental powers to show me mine, but I can't see what I'm supposed to do or how I'm supposed to access my powers, and I need to know my abilities!"

She felt like she finally had a way to be useful, but there was no way for her to reach that usefulness.

"I might need some help."

Please godmod my character again, I have no idea what her powers are, I just know that they're mental. Help.

Hmm. What was the last thing you wrote? Like without this power?

"Um, just the letter Q. It represented my identity at the time."

"Hi Hungry. Now try it"

Queen wrote with her mind, but it still only wrote her name.

Haha. (sorry.)

Queen smiled. "Yeah, for sure. I didn't really expect it to work, though. If I have to write something with my hands in order to write it with my mind, what's the point?"

I'm just going to assume my dad told me to keep the gem.

"Okay," Vapor said, hugging her dad. "I'm going to go get a sandwich." She left and went to the kitchen to get a sandwich.

It has pickles from The Happy Inquisitor on it. Vapor made them when she worked there.

Fadran gets up, walking to Queen and looking at the writing on the floor. He feels around at it, then finds her Spirit--despite the fact that her Spirit had been simply the letter 'Q' before.

*Cracks knuckles and starts montage music* let's get crackin'

"Tchanta... your name... your old name... they're all connected somehow." Fadran, acting on a hunch, Forged a Spirit Bond to her name written on the floor. Sure enough, he could see her Spirit through her name. "Your magic... I haven't seen something like it for quite some time. It's a power passed down through blood; something not so uncommon, I admit. However, its functionality is... unique."

Fadran frowns, thinking. "There's an ocean of potential hiding behind a wall. An ocean of magical strength waiting to be tapped. It's connected to your mind, your blood, your Spirit... it's connected to a number of things." He continues studying the Spirit, discovering as much as he can about the magic. "This magic is vast, everywhere and nowhere--it's intangible, and by using it, you're only guiding it to wherever it is it wants to go. You're not controlling it, and it's not controlling you. In your bloodline, there's a trait that... opens a door, so to speak. Once this door is open, you can tap into the magic flowing through it, and do... just about anything."

Fadran scratches his head. "So why can't you... oh wait. I think I got it." Fadran moves his hands about in an attempt to give a visual, though he probably looks like a fool doing so. "This doorway is locked in a number of places. Each lock can be opened by a part of you; your mind, your Spirit, your actions. When you open one of these locks, you can tap into the magic, but only do specific things based on what lock you opened."

Fadran starts to get excited--he's obviously never encountered magic like this before. "There are limitless possibilities here! All you have to do is draw upon one of your attributes, and something will happen! Before, after..." Fadran slows down, realizing that he was about to wander into Queen's personal life with an upbeat attitude, "after Journey died, you lost a part of you. So earlier, when you ordered Tchanta to help you find part of your magic, you opened a lock that you couldn't have accessed without Journey. And right now... right now, you can only write your name, because you've only ever known a few of these outlets. After you chose to take your old name back, you unlocked a part of yourself, and... well, I guess a lot of magic was pent up back there, because now all you can do is write your name."

He nods to himself. "So by finding more parts of yourself, key attributes to your personality and mind, you can access this ocean of magic in nearly infinite ways. All you have to do... is find those parts."

Dr. Larue smiled. "I made a new one, don't you worry."

Should I tell them about you guys? Fadran asks the holedYou, the gemstone, Vapor's father, etc? @xinoehp512

"Sure, why not?"

Thanks

Vapor munches on her sandwich as she heads back to the servants quarters, wanting them to know about the gemstone.

Ene shuffled her feet anxiously and lowered her voice. “Is there a way to know if your Author is watching you or not?”

Of course, said Grace, amused. They're always watching.

My phone capitalized Identity all on its own. I'm so proud.

Sorry, I lost reception after writing but before it posted.

Talking about Queen's magic and what we have.

"Maybe it's Identity based. I've got force field powers and a bow."

"I've got fire powers."

Vapor walks in and walks over to Fadran. "I just got this from my dad. It's a protection gemstone. Do you think that would help?"

Fadran blinks. "Hooooooly..."

Hey guys, Fadran telepathically calls to the holedis this that gemstone you were talking about?

Ene stared at her. “Always? There’s no way to stop them, or distract them, or something? Get another Author to tie them up? Anything?”

No, said Grace, puzzled. Why would you want to? Your existence depends on them.

"Nope," says the blue. "That one's red, see? We need a purple one."

By the way, the walk between the center of the outpost and the lab is like an hour by foot.
