He commends himself for his foresight in leaving the device here (although, in truth, there is no way he could have predicted that this precise situation would occur). He flicks the switch that will power up the device and stands back. A low humming fills the treasure room, gradually getting louder and higher in pitch. When at last it is almost too loud to bear, he steps forward and presses a button. Bright light shoots from protuberances into a single point. A loud bzzt sound buzzes as it tears a hole in reality and fills it with a different one. Universe Hexagon. With satisfaction, the man steps through and into the new universe. As he does so, the device powers off behind him. The cave returns to darkness and quiet, the only evidence of its disturbance gradually fading away into echo until it can no longer be heard.
