I can take a white shirt and paint it black. Then I can paint red over that, and white again, and pink and any other color. But I cannot ever paint it clear.

And light is different from... and that is different from... I think clear is a color. I looked it up, and clear is a color in some circumstances, but when it means transparent, it is not.
