-ACE- he/him Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 My favorite talk was probably the one by (I think) Elder(?) Brown of the 70 or Jeffery R. Holland's talk I guess 2
NerdSandwich she/her Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Kevin G. Brown. Yeah, his talk was good. 1
+Slowswift Posted October 29, 2025 Posted October 29, 2025 I thought of a metaphor the other day that I think explains the dichotomy between our church and the rest of Christianity. Imagine Christendom as a puzzle. It's a beautiful, inspiring painting, but intricate and esoteric at the same time. We can see the general subject the painting is trying to depict, but the details are hard to make out and nobody can agree on the interpretations of certain portions. We look at those and say "Hey, there's some missing pieces here." Hence, the Restoration. The rest of Christianity, however, proclaims that there can't possibly be any pieces missing, therefore we must be looking at a different puzzle entirely. 6
Through the Living Hope Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 Non-member I have to write an essay for one of my classes, and for me personally my only real option for this essay is something to advocate for the LDS community for. Is there anything recently going on within the church that you guys would want advocated for to outsiders?

Really just things that are going on actively within the church that you want attention drawn to or support for. The only news articles I could really find were from what happened in Michigan a month ago 29 minutes ago, YouCantHaveMySandwich said: uhh well a lot of the people in my grade think I'm racist. also just emphasize compassion and kindness.

The shooting in Michigan I’d say is also a good topic.

NerdSandwich she/her Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Gender inequality is a big issue. It takes a while. The important thing is that it happened. I'll admit, this was one of my biggest questions somehow. 1
