Crossbell coming to the west so that’s cool. I can’t wait to expand my knowledge of the series.

If it’s English that is.

Where'd you hear that Crossbell is coming to the west?

Elsewhere from another player who is going with Cold Steel along side me. I would have linked but I didn’t want to click and risk spoilers.

Falcom releases 1 game every year.

It takes 2 years after a Falcom game comes out for it to be localized and released in the West.

The localization company (right now that is NISA) that localizes Falcom games is always at least 1 or 2 games behind the latest release.

It will ALWAYS be more profitable to localize the latest Falcom game over localizing Crossbell. It will probably even be more profitable to localize other, non-Falcom games over Crossbell.

Therefore, unless NISA somehow begins localizing Falcom games at a faster rate, and they somehow run out of newer Falcom games and more profitable non-Falcom games to localize, they will never localize Crossbell.

Finished Act 1(finally) of CS2. Man that was a killer climax. I’m in intermission now but taking a break for the day most likely until tomorrow’s 4PM session. May turn it back on later but I need to put a dent in today’s Dark Age reading session.

Fun stuff y’all!

NISA could localize faster tho. They're a lot bigger than XSeed is.

Given that NISA has already devoted the resources to bring out Cold Steel 4 and Ys IX within about five months of each other (when they released a full year apart) this, very much this.

Also, there are serious issues of continuity when it comes to releasing Hajimari without Crossbell, seeing that a third of the main story focuses on Lloyd and over half of the overall plot either takes place in Crossbell or otherwise involves it heavily. I could easily see NISA pushing Hajimari (and the next arc) back a bit to release Crossbell first. Not everything has to be about pure profit.

Besides, they've implied in the past that they want to do something about it. They didn't make any promises but at least they seem to be aware of the issue and are just looking for the best way to solve it without taking downright losses. But if they find that balance I don't see why it wouldn't happen.

Ugh!!!!! Gonna miss my 4pm session today due to an idiot speeding and taking out a pole 2 hrs ago. Plus it’s about 53F outside and I have holes and no insulation in 2/3 of the house still.

This sucks.

Power came back at 3:58pm lol so I was able to press on with intermission after all.

i was just able to talk to everyone in their quarters before being called away irl. It was umm interesting doing so.

Cant wait to press on tomorrow.

Finished intermission! So much fun even if it’s all just laughably basic simple drivel it’s highly epic payoff to sit through. I can’t help but wonder exactly what the point of that was but it’s good stuff.

Im super happy I have all the games to bam bam through with no pauses between.

I think I will go through some massive withdrawals once I finally finish all 4.

The Pantagruel scene is so good. It's kind of like a better version of a scene from one of the Sky games, where you basically go onto a ship and talk with most of the antagonists before staging a breakout. I love that Bleublanc basically just recaps the events of SC offscreen to Rean.

Yeah I loved the Pantagruel section.

Act 2 is more relaxed and gameplay focused. It's the freedom point of the game where you can basically go wherever and do what you want. It's really satisfying mixing and matching your party and trying out different builds and party compositions to take down the Cryptid superbosses. Felt like a classic JRPG like FFVII. Some of the sidequests are also pretty fun.

CS2 Act 2 stuff

ok school students here is the keys to our brand new airship...

Really now smh but whatever I get to recruit other students and I’m excited to do so. That was just lame play out there.

It's Olivier ofcourse he's going to do it.

Also, the kids are probably making better use of the Courageous in Eastern Erebonia than if Olivier had taken it to the West. There is heavy fighting in the West and the NA's airforce is over there (the Pantagruel and other NA ships), and the Courageous alone won't really help (you can't rely on a single super ship to win the war, you need multiple bombers and transport airships), and the Courageous isn't really that good in a fight. They say in CS1 that the Courageous is lightly armed, and we don't see any evidence that it can be used for bombing runs. What the Courageous is good at is entering hostile territory very quickly and dropping off a strike team. Victor, Olivier, Mueller, and Claire are already fighting in the West, so it makes sense to give the Courageous to the lesser powerful kids in the East to help them out.

Have had my biggest day most likely on this game. I’ve clocked probably 6 hrs and I believe I’m ready to Act 2 stuff

set sail for the next portion with word coming in that Fiona is taken captive. I’m hesitant to go forward without gamefaqs guide though. It’s not coming up on 2 phones and it’s frustrating the hell out of me!

If you want a guide that isn't GameFAQ's, I would recommend Neoseeker. I have used Neoseeker guides for every Cold Steel game other than everything after, like, halfway through Act 2 of CS4 because the guide is still being updated and they're amazing. Those guides are some of the best I've ever used, and it is mobile friendly. Here it is if you want it

Wth... I can’t get that to load either. This is really going to wind up pissing me off!

got gamefaqs back up. Idk... hopefully it’s ok now

oh sweet found a good grind spot in Dragon Bridge! Even at lvl 82 I can get 2-4K if I get it right on the officer enemy.

Really enjoying the Act 2 stuff

freedom that opened up there. Getting crew is rather fun. Trying to get those blue chest I gave up on 1st time around. I haven’t managed to figure out how to get the one in Dragon bridge as the vent is now closed. Oh and prediction time Thomas to be Blublanc lol. This is gonna be interesting having him on ship.

I saw a rumor about something called Rei no Kiseki. Does anyone know if there's any truth to it or did someone just mistranslate Zero?

Posted (edited)

It's true, several of the usual (and very reliable) sources have confirmed it, including an image showing the logo which gives us the reading (actually 'Kuro no Kiseki'). So yeah, the Calvard Arc now has a name.

Kuro no Kiseki.png

And it's one hell of a name too, with the surface meaning of 'Black/Dark' or 'Many' (the reading strongly biases one to the former) and the character is an element of words meaning 'dawn of a new age' and 'the masses'.

Oh, and there's also a screenshot showing off a character in the new engine.
