And his robe... the beautiful robe he wore, the robe fitting for a Wyrn, one who had accomplished the unity of his planet, who had begun conquering another planet, was ruined. It had been magnificent. Black, with purple for accent, and gold trim and patterns. Now it was ripped, beaten, revealing something of the strangeness that lay beneath. His gaze again fell on the object in his hand. It was nothing yet, but the potential... oh, the potential. He looked at the group around him. Five Dahkor, ten Fjordell soldiers, two priests, and five... other men. He grinned lopsidedly at them, his brown eyes wild. The air around them shimmered with breath. They were all from the attacks on Hallandren. He looked around him, noting the difference around him as well. His aura was stronger then any of the others. It was the accumulated Breath of a nation, along with multiple high level awakeners breath. He grinned, but it faded as he again looked at the object he held. Jaddeth, is what I do a sin? Was it your will for Fjordell to be destroyed, for me to have to slaughter my way out? His thoughts took a dark turn then, as he contemplated the object. If Jaddeth wills this, our religion is wrong... Shu Korath is correct then, or... worse... there is no god... His eyes slid shut, and his body shook. He couldn't accept that. He would die before accepting the lack of god. And as he sat their, shaking, surrounded by the most dangerous men in the Cosmere, his mind... changed. When he opened his eyes, they no longer harbored any doubt. Jaddeth, he scoffed. I can't believe I ever believed that. He raised one hand, and spoke. "Bring them in. I have decided." He glanced down at the object in his hand. A smooth metal spike. And it wasn't yet bloodied... but that would change soon enough. ~-~-~-~-~ God Emperor Arkos the Fifth, Herald of Life and Death, Embodiment of All That Is Holy, entered the building. The Government building of Elendel. His hair was no longer matted, his fingernails were clean, as was his skin. He wore a simple robe, the robes of monks in Idris. All skin but the skin on his face was covered. But his face... a spike was impaled through one eye, and Arkos could see a whole new world, a world of metal. His robe had strange bumps and ridges underneath it, circular shapes, long, stranger shapes. He walked into the room were the governor was giving his speech, shoving through, easily pushing his way through. At first, there was cries of outrage. Then, there was a horrified silence. Finally, screams. This spread throughout the crowd, and they began pressing away from him. He dropped a coin onto the ground, pushing off of it and landing in front of the governor. He turned away from the cowering man, turning to face the crowd that was both fascinated and terrified, trying to run and trying to get a good look at him. He let the robe fall down to his waist, revealing the strange patterns over his body. Ridges of bone, pale skin, the whole appearance was inhuman. it was amplified by the two spikes in his right rib cage, and the ghostly light brought by the color distortion around him. Ex-Wyrn Arkos the Fifth, God Emperor Arkos the Fifth, had revealed their greatest secret. Arkos was Dahkor. And now he was so much more. He grinned darkly at the crowd. He spoke, his voice booming throughout the room. "People of Elendel. Do you know who I am?" He watched the confused looks flit over their faces for a few seconds, then continued. "You have known a few gods. The Lord Ruler. The Survivor. Ironeyes. Harmony. Surely you recognize these spikes?" More screams filled the room. "No, I am not Death. I am worse then that... I am God Emperor Arkos the Fifth, Herald of Life and Death, Embodiment of All That Is Holy. I am the representative of all the gods I named... and their heir." He whirled, grabbing the Governor by the throat. He had been trying to crawl away. He leaned in close, spoke in a whisper that carried. "You shouldn't have ran." He turned, his bones and muscles rippling, throwing the Governor across the room, making him hit the wall head first, so hard it exploded like a watermelon hit with a sledgehammer, raining gore over the watchers. "That is just the first step. The government will fall. I am God." Through the windows burst the five dahkor. The wall was blown open, revealing the Fjodrell soldiers. Each had a spike in his heart. Through the front door came the awakeners. Wyrn Arkos grinned as the Constables entered, bringing up pile of cloth. "Strangle them." He threw the cloth with accuracy, and each choked a man to death. "Even cloth obeys me. I am God. This transition of power will hurt, unfortunately. But I will lead you to new heights, as the lords of humanity." The crowd rushed from the room as the Dahkor herded them, but none would forget. They had a new god. Hurt Elendel, Heal no one. The trial of the Warlord Wyrn Akros the fifth was underway within Elendel. He was given the unfortunate duty of watching Shadesmar during this trial. Suddenly, a man came through the perpendicularity. He seemed rushed. "Commander! A telegram from Elendel sir!" "Go on" The Man pulled out a paper, where he had copied the message, and began "It says 'Coup! Wyrn has men. All Spik'... and that's how it ends. Take a look" The courier handed him the note. Commander compounder knew he had to take action. The first thing he would do is reach out to some of the legends of the Cosmere. Running to his camp's Communication tent, he pulled out the spanreeds given him by the Rosharians. He wrote a quick message. Dalinar, The universe is in need of your strongest men. Please build an army. Be sure to include Sir Stormblessed, Lady Davar Kholin, Sir Szeth Vallano, and any others. The Warlord Wyrn Akros has begun a coup during his trial. We do not know the state of Elendel or the rest of Scadrial at this point. . There were two other things he had to do. "Start up the time machine." He yelled to his Batallion chiefs who were with him in the tent "I'm going to get the Lord Ruler. And someone find out where in the Cosmere is Hoid! Build an army of the strongest Men in the Cosmere!" --------- Commander Compounder walked up to the gates of Kredik Shaw. Fortunately he had done his research. As the inquisitors guarding the door told him to seize, he responded to them with their names. "I must speak with the Lord Ruler, Alendi. As we both know, his name is really Rashek. I mean no harm, but there is an urgent matte to discuss" After hours of negotiation, he was granted access to speak with Rashek in private. "I am from long in the future, Commander Compounder began. "A time after you have been killed. I need to have you come with me, as you are one of the strongest men in the History of the Universe, and our Universe is in Dire need of an army. I cannot tell you how you were killed, or when, as it may disrupt the timeline. But I will return you to this exact time, so that no time has lapsed from this moment when we have succeed." Surprisingly it was fairly easy to convince Rashek to join the Commander. They snuck out of Kredik Shaw, and returned to the time machine. He had hurt Elendel in taking over, but they were running well again. He would conquer the universe from here. Arkos spoke, and servants immediately attended him. "We are going to conquer the Southern Scadrians. We are in need of flight technology." The servant nodded, and rushed out of the room. Hurt Southern Scadrians, Heal no one. She sent a small group, including herself, into Alethkar to discover what was happening. She left command and a spanreed to an eager young officer and left on the mission, also leaving Iri slightly more vulnerable.
