Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) I mean, crazy zeal passionate love for it. Enough for it to be their online screenname. Brave is similar to Frozen because they both involve very strong girls who do things themselves. There's really no main character boys, it's about the main character's want to be independent and her mother not wanting her to. Fleeing an arranged marriage, in fact.I don't think it's surprising that I have a lot of screen names with either Elsa or frozen in them probably about for five different sites and it's my desktop too. Slight obsession there. I just think it's a really nice and orginal story. Edited December 21, 2014 by Queen Elsa Steelheart
Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 "Nice" is a movie you watch once or twice. Sorry, I told myself I wasn't going to get into an argument about this, but Frozen is a little bit of a pet peeve of mine. It's not an argument at all. You're just expressing your point of view about it and that's totally fine I've seen it about thirty or twenty five times. And having a YouTube channel making frozen videos meant I watched it a couple more times too.
Delightful Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Winter Cloud, I'm just curious here, what do you have so strongly *against* Frozen? The general over-popularity ?
Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 It's a nice movie. I had nothing against it personally. In fact, I used to really like it. But it started to bug me that people were saying that it was the only Disney movie that has strong women. Hello? Brave? Mulan? Nice movie, but it came out last year? Serriously? There's good songs, but people only ever talk about Do You Want to Build a SnowMan and Let It Go. And mostly Let It Go. There's other songs in the movie. A year and a few months. Don't you think that's enough?I have to admit, I've listened to Let it go nonstop. It's one of the best songs on the soundtrack. But one of my favourite Disney movies is Hercules. Those incredible songs never get old.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Hello, Newcago. We haven't spoken in a while. How are you?

Don't you think that's enough? re strong women: For me the difference in Frozen was that there was more than one strong woman, and the story centered around their relationship to each other. Mulan, she was the only woman amongst a zillion guys, I don't remember Brave to well but I seem to remember she was by herself alot?. Anyway, I did really enjoy that aspect of the movie because it's not something I see terribly often. I totally agree about the songs though. ACtually in the film I liked Snowman better and was surprised by all the attention Let It Go got..... As a general cultural thing, Frozen has hung around a whole lot longer than most film do. And I know that with certain stories like Hunger Games, I loved it until it became super popular and overdiscussed and now I'm more meh about it. Edit: Hi Twi! Edited December 22, 2014 by Delightful
Quiver he/him Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 To be fair, I like Let it Go because it speaks to me on a personal level about anxiety and overcoming problems- especially since Elsa wearing gloves a lot reminds me of my germs phobic OCD tendencies-... And because I interpret the song as being about Elsa's sexuality, ie: my head canon that Elsa is gay. 1
Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) Hello, Newcago. We haven't spoken in a while. How are you?Great! Hi! How are you? Winter Cloud: Hercules is amazing. Especially go the distance and I won't say I'm in love which are your favourite songs from that movie? We should have another ball here. We haven't had one for a while. Edited December 22, 2014 by Queen Elsa Steelheart 1

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Great! Hi! How are you? Winter Cloud: Hercules is amazing. Especially go the distance and I won't say I'm in love which are your favourite songs from that movie? We should have another ball here. We haven't had one for a while. Good. Done with finals. (AT LAST!) I managed to get A's in everything, which surprised me a bit, but I'm not going to complain. How have you been? How's Newcago? Sorry I didn't attend the last ball; like I said, I was in the middle of finals. Maybe I'll have Funtimes show up to the next one. To be fair, I like Let it Go because it speaks to me on a personal level about anxiety and overcoming problems- especially since Elsa wearing gloves a lot reminds me of my germs phobic OCD tendencies-... And because I interpret the song as being about Elsa's sexuality, ie: my head canon that Elsa is gay. What I love about "Let it Go" is that it can mean so many different things to so many different people—and it manages to be empowering to nearly everyone. For me, it speaks to my having Aspergers as something to be embraced, not shunned. (That's part of why I identified so deeply with Elsa, especially during the "Snowman" montage—"Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show" is the most common advice I've received regarding my many quirks.)

Delightful Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Kobold, you have double royal approval on that. It's fantastic . And goofy enough that it's right at home here. 2
Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Royally Consider it the 'Official Newcago Court Anthem, "Let it Snow"
Quiver he/him Posted December 27, 2014 Author Posted December 27, 2014 If you guys are all about snow, does that make "Winter Wrap-up" tantamount to a declaration of war?

Quiver he/him Posted December 27, 2014 Author Posted December 27, 2014 Winter Wrap up is an MLP song about getting rid of winter. You should check it out; it's probably on YouTube. It's also the catchiest tune ever, and when it's in your head, it will never leave. 1
